Taking on personal challenges in The Aspen Waite Way

I had been a member of my local gym for a few years but felt like I was in a bit of rut doing the same thing week in week out with the treadmill, cross trainer and the occasional class. I therefore needed to do something drastic as I wasn’t losing any weight. I do love my food and cannot bear the thought of dieting!

I saw an advert for a company called End to End who do various virtual challenges so thought I would give Land’s End to John O’Groats a try. After all, it only works out at 17 miles a week. Once you log your first miles you have 12 months to complete it so on 2nd January 2021 I did my first walk. A couple of miles was quite an achievement at the beginning. I now try and do at least 5 miles every time I go for a walk which ranges from 3 to 6 times a week. Reaching the halfway mark, I decided that I should really be raising funds for a worthy cause. Watching a Rob Burrows documentary over the Christmas period brought to my attention a disease that I didn’t really know much about – Motor neurone disease. Motor Neurone Disease is an uncommon condition affecting the brain and nerves.

If anyone would still like to donate, my website is:-

www.justgiving.com/ fundraising/cora-joscelyn My target is £1,744 which is the number of miles of the two challenges combined, so I still have quite a way to go. Any donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how large or small. I am pleased to say that I have now completed my first virtual challenge and hopefully my t-shirt and medal will be arriving soon.
