The hilarious new play CHICKEN & BISCUITS introduces us to the Jenkins family, as they gather to celebrate the life of their beloved and recently deceased father and grandfather. This side-splitting new comedy explores the tenderness of family, the joy of reconciliation, and the nourishing power of love. Written by Broadway newcomer Douglas Lyons and directed by the talented Bianca LaVerne Jones, who was associate director of the 2021 Broadway production, CHICKEN & BISCUITS proves that while family may drive us crazy, we’re lucky to have each other. “Laugh-out-loud funny! Asolo Repertory Theatre is now equipped with a hearing loop system in both the Mertz and Cook Theatres to assist those with hearing aids or cochlear implants equipped with telecoils (T-Coil). Sound is transmitted directly from our P.A. system without background noise or interference to better serve our patrons. By turning your hearing aid to “T” for reception, you will be able to hear our performances with improved amplification and clarity. Seats in the Mertz NOT equipped with the loop include Row A in the orchestra and Row F in the mezzanine. For those patrons who do not have the T-Coil system, complimentary hearing amplification headsets are available in our lobby for both theatres.
