4. RESEARCH If you’re a blogger, having an editorial calendar and media kit in place is a very important step to have ready. 5. Taking it up a notch! I will say the the attendees are of inspirational status.

It's at the least uncomfortable to be in rooms with complete strangers in a new city and at the most it's down right crippling with anxiety and fear. THE GROUNDS OF ALEXANDRIA

JORGE IS A BEAUTIFUL SOUL. HE ALWAYS SEES THE BEST IN PEOPLE. - ARA

The beautiful lovebirds got engaged on their first trip to Europe. Jorge had convinced Ara to go at night and surprisingly no one was around at the time, so it was very private. Jorge asked Ara to take a photo of him with the entire Eiffel Tower, so Ara had to walk quite a fair way to capture it all. When she came closer to take another photo, he got down on one knee and popped the question.

The couple wanted to their wedding to be a celebration, rather than a formal setting. Jorge is from Peru, so they wanted to infuse a South American flavor into the mix. The wedding had a bright wedding arch, alpacas, handpicked textiles from Peru for napkins, cute pins and even snow!

The colour palette was filled with bright and vibrant colours, while keeping an elegant and memorable theme.

Here’s what photographer and founder of the popular Shotkit website Mark Condon had to say about the wedding:

How did you and your partner meet?

We met just over 7 years ago when Jorge was in Sydney for a 4-month vacation. We were pretty much inseparable ever since.

How did he propose?

We got engaged on October 20, 2017 on our first trip to Europe. We arrived in Paris that day and Jorge convinced me to go to the Eiffel Tower at night – I wanted to go during the day so you could see better views! Anyway, that’s where he proposed, at the bottom, after we had just been to the top. Surprisingly, no one was around at the time and it was very private. He asked me to take a photo of him with the entire tower in the background. I had to walk quite a fair way to capture it all and when I came closer to take another photo, that’s when he got down on one knee and popped the question. He later told me he wanted to propose at the top but he found there were too many people and it was actually perfect as the moment was so private, just the two of us.

What do you love most about your partner?

Jorge is a beautiful soul. He always sees the best in people, gives great advice and loves me unconditionally. He listens and is very thoughtful.

What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?

Trust and communication are key.

Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it: I initially didn’t want a wedding gown… a white dress, yes, but I didn’t know exactly what. My family convinced me to just take a look around and even try some dresses on. I chose my dress at the first bridal fitting I went to. It was the only gown I tried on that put a smile on my face and that I felt myself in. It was a simple but elegant style, mermaid cut, with a big bow on the back which I thought was kinda quirky and reflected my personality.

ALLISON CARTER CELEBRATES How do you stay motivated ?

Hearing from my clients and members of my tribe keeps me motivated. The stories of little ways they're turning the volume up in their lives and their approach to celebrating more is hugely impactful. I get to hear things like "I didn't think regular people could have parties like this!" or "This was the first time I enjoyed planning a party. You made it so easy!" Keeps me going!

What inspires you?

My childhood was magical. My mom was always creating little moments and memories for us. I knew that was a priority for me when I became a mom. I get to pass those same traditions down and find little ways to celebrate the little moments with my kids, and I am always inspired by their creativity and excitement.

What is your definition of success?

Waking up excited to work everyday. I love my job and while it's hard and can be frustrating at times, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I get to help women gift their loved ones with cherished memories and experiences using my creative gifts and talents. I am incredibly grateful for that! Doing all that while being home with my family is the icing on the cake. launching the podcast and the impact that's made on so many families. I get emails and messages from moms that tried an idea and were amazed at how much fun they had with their kids. It doesn't have to be time-consuming! Having my business story featured in Forbes and having my daughter's 5th birthday party featured in Mingle Magazine and walking up to see it at Barnes and Noble wasn't too shabby either!

Don't follow the standard advice for everything. I started my business from a bit of a renegade standpoint, and I stand by that today. What makes businesses excel at being different is just that - they are run differently. Find creative ways to solve problems that aren't cookie-cutter answers. That's where the real beauty is in your own business.

How do you stay motivated ?

Motivation comes in many forms. My customers and the stores that carry my products rely on me to come up with new and relevant ideas on a regular basis. That in itself is a huge motivator, because I certainly don't want to let anyone down.

There are also enough heavy card "seasons" and holidays that keep me motivated to come up with fresh, new designs so that my customers will always have options to choose from.

What inspires you?

I get inspired by all of the many talented calligraphers and lettering artists out there. There is always room for improvement, and always time to try new things. I am endlessly inspired!

As fate would have it, Valerie slowly found her way into the wine business as well. Ed decided it would be invaluable for his daughter Val and son-in-law Steve to see the Santa Barbara wine country.
