2018 National Scholarship Recipients
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an Active Member studying for either undergraduate or graduate degrees and can be used toward tuition and books. The 2018 National Scholarship essay topic was “Leadership.” We had many generous donations and were able to award an additional $500 scholarship to the first runner-up. The National Scholarship Committee met on June 10, 2018 when all essays were reviewed and the committee collectively decided on recipients. We are pleased to announce Jenna Teberg of the Epsilon Chapter is our overall 2018 National Scholarship recipient and Shana Hilgerson of the Epsilon Chapter is our first runner-up. Congratulations Jenna and Shana and thank you to all of our essay writers!

Scholarship Recipient, Jenna Teberg
My name is Jenna Teberg. I’m a senior in Industrial Engineering from Cedar Rapids IA. I am a part of the Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Kappa at Iowa State University in Ames Iowa. I joined Alpha Sigma Kappa my first semester of freshman year. Currently I am on a semester long engineering internship for Keurig Dr. Pepper in Ottumwa Iowa. Winning the National Foundation Scholarship will help me pay for my last semesters at Iowa State.
Since I initiated I have held lip-sync chair, yell like hell chair, social chair/formal chair, and most recently vice president of operations. I’ve gotten the chance to participate in intramural, Greek week, homecoming, philanthropies, community service projects, socials, and formals. Most importantly I’ve gotten to make countless memories and build friendships for life. I love Alpha Sigma Kappa because this sisterhood has given me a chance to break out of my shell and it has been a place for me to build my skills and relationships and find my home away from home.
