This colourful and detailed story gives an account of work undertaken to help find and protect the world's rarest turtle, Swinhoe's Softshell Turtle (Rafetus swinhoei), in Vietnam.
The story covers work by the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo Myanmar Conservation (IMC) and partner NGOs and agencies. The late Dr Peter Pritchard was involved in some of the surveys for this species in Vietnam, and his book, 'Rafetus, The Curve of Extinction: the story of the giant softshell turtle of the Yangtze and Red rivers' covers this in more detail.
The story is told up until 2016, and it's important to know that many more new exciting developments have taken place since then. Additional information can be found on the website at www.asianturtleprogram.org
