Asian Trails was founded in September 1999, by Luzi Matzig and Laurent Kuenzle in Bangkok, Thailand.

Asian Trails Holding is established in Gibraltar.
Asian Trails partners with Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd.


Asian Trails launches inbound operations in China.

Asian Trails Vietnam was the first Asian Trails office to become a Travelife Partner.

Asian Trails integrates with Lemax software, enhancing booking capabilities across the region.

In collaboration with leading technology provider 11Infotech, Asian Trails launches eConnect.


By the end of 1999, Asian Trails’ office network had expanded to Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Asian Trails receives IATA accreditation.

Asian Trails begins joint venture in Laos.

Thomas Cook India Ltd., a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Canada, acquires part ownership of Asian Trails Holding.

All Asian Trails’ offices receive the Travelife Partner award, reflecting the company’s commitment to longterm sustainability.

Asian Trails launches Digital Trails, an interactive tour experience, in partnership with Vox City Walks.

Asian Trails collaborates with major partners to increase connectivity for buyers and sellers, including WebBeds, Expedia, SiteMinder, Amadeus and HBX Group.
