Marcos names PH special envoy to China

PRESIDENT Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has named Maynard Ngu Special Envoy of the Philippines to the People's Republic of China for Trade, Investment and Tourism, Malacañang announced on Friday, March 3.

The Chief Executive formally swore Ngu into office on the same day, according to the

Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Prior to his appointment, Ngu served as the Chief Executive Officer of Cosmic Technologies Incorporated, the company behind cellphone brand Cherry Mobile.

As special envoy, part of his duties include international trade and investment between the Philippines and China and spearhead discussions with business stakeholders in order to maximize significant trade and other economic opportunities.

Ngu is the second special envoy picked by the President to China.

In February, Marcos tapped Benito Techico also for the same post. Techico was the CEO and president of Uni-Orient Travel, ground handler of chartered flights for local and international tourists. n
