In the city of Limassol (Cyprus), we meet Rasa Andrijauskaite, who has found in Asian style a unique form of art and expression. Rasa, who is originally from Lithuania, graduated in Hotel Management, but it was while working as an assistant in a pet store that she discovered her true calling. Mei Iseyama, originally from Japan, is known for being the youngest winner in the history of one of the most important dog grooming competitions in Asia, a milestone that positioned her as one of the best in her field.
For Mei, dog grooming goes beyond a simple technique, it is an art that seeks to improve the quality of life and well-being of dogs beyond aesthetics. “… my goal is to make dogs live comfortable and happy, and highlight their natural charm”
With just five years of experience in the industry, Mei has established herself as one of Japan’s most prominent figures, achieving international recognition for her skill and passion for dogs.

Her vision for the future is clear, to continue honing her skills and passing on her love of the craft to the next generation.

From December 9 to 11, the first edition of PeruGroom 2024 took place in the city of Lima (Peru), an international dog grooming competition that brought together outstanding groomers from Peru and various Latin American countries.
The event attracted groomers not only from different regions of Peru, but also from countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador, consolidating PeruGroom 2024 as a space for cultural and professional exchange in the field of canine grooming.
The international jury, made up of Steven Hong (China), Álvaro Reyes (Colombia) and Elías Araujo (Panama), highlighted the high technical and creative level of the participants in all categories, both official and unofficial.
One of the highlights was the awards ceremony for the Freestyle category, dedicated to salon styles and Asian arrangements, which allowed stylists to show off all their creativity and skill. In this category, the results were as follows:
During the three days of competition, attendees were also able to enjoy live demonstrations, educational workshops and a showcase of the art and technique that defines modern dog grooming. Marcela Pacaya, organizer of the event, expressed her satisfaction with the success of this first edition and highlighted the importance of continuing to promote this type of meeting in the country. PeruGroom 2024 not only celebrated the talent and dedication of groomers, but also made it clear that Peru is ready to be a benchmark in canine grooming at an international level.

Lidia Floarea, originally from Bucharest (Romania), began her career with an early passion for animals, rescuing dogs and cats from the early age of six. Despite having begun her studies at the Veterinary Academy, her love for animals was not compatible with the reality of working in that field, which led her to change course towards the Academy of Economic Sciences. Lidia tells us how, after working for more than eight years in that sector, she realized that office work was not for her. “…I realized I’m not a fan of standing at a desk for 8 hours” As for her place in the industry, Lidia describes herself as a professional who loves to help and educate her clients with love and honesty. And although she doesn’t seek fame, her skills have already been recognized in photography contests thanks to her work.
“…I am through thick and thin when it comes to my work” Lidia has perfected her Asian style at the PIGA academy in Malaysia by taking a course and its instructor program, and after her stay in the Asian country she was nominated for “Best Asian Style Groomer” by Master Groom Romania. Despite her success, Lidia continues to train, attending seminars and courses to hone her skills.
