SEPT 21 2024 | 7:30 PM

Etta May has performed her brand of cleancomedy on Oprah, Showtime, Comic Strip Live, MTV, and as a guest commentator on “CBS Sunday Morning.” She is the winner of the prestigious American Comedy Awards “Comic Of The Year,” and so much more.

Born in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Etta May grew up alongside nine older brothers, who referred to their baby sister as “the human sacrifice.” Etta May’s parents – her father, a potpourri farmer, and her mother, bedridden by constant childbearing – didn’t realize she was a girl until she needed a training bra.

Before finding success as a stand-up comic, Etta wandered from dead-end job to dead-end

Female Comic of The Year, with over 1 million followers on Facebook!

job, including a 10-year stint as a school bus driver. She says she learned how to handle unruly kids by Armor-Alling the seats and slamming on the brakes all the way to school. Her theory: “Kind of hard to pick a fight with the kid in front of you when you’re just holding on for dear life.”

Then she decided to take a chance on herself and follow her dream. Lots of hard work and drive, and a few years later, she won “Female Comic Of The Year” at the American Comedy Awards. It’s the American Story we are all told, that you can become anything you set your mind to in this great country. And for Etta May, it worked!

FOREVER SIMON & GARFUNKEL: A TRIBUTE

Tickets start at $33

SEPT 28 2024 | 7:30 PM

Forever Simon & Garfunkel: A Tribute celebrates the best selling duo in rock’n’roll history. With humor, soaring energy, charm, and laser precise harmony, Sean Altman & Jack Skuller lead the audience on a concert journey through Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s teenage roots, their early success as a groovy folk act, their global dominance as hit-makers, and even some of Paul Simon’s solo career: The Sound Of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs. Robinson, I Am A Rock, The Boxer, Homeward Bound, Cecilia, Hazy Shade Of Winter, Feeling Groovy, Me & Julio Down by the Schoolyard, Kodachrome, and many more!

Award-winning singer-songwriters Sean Altman (Rockapella) & Jack Skuller (Songwriters Hall Of Fame Buddy Holly Prize) met on stage in 2010, when they were paired at a variety show to duet Mrs. Robinson. Jack had just celebrated his 14th birthday, and Sean had just celebrated his shiny new AARP card, but the audience found their December-January musical bromance and brotherly harmony to be enchanting and mesmerizing. The pair has toured as The Everly Set since 2016, celebrating the hits of The Everly Brothers. They formed Forever Simon & Garfunkel in 2020, and they tour both acts internationally.

OCT 19 2024 | 7:30 PM

Livin’ the Dream

Songs You Know and Love. A Voice You’ll Never Forget

Everybody has a dream. Chris Ruggiero is living his.

Described as “the next Justin Timberlake,” this handsome young man always wanted to be a singer and now finds himself, in his mid-twenties, an in-demand showman and social media superstar. He’s appeared on national PBS specials, shared the stage with music icons, performed live on Good Morning America, and is succeeding at wowing audiences in his solo show across the nation.

This rising young entertainer has created a live stage show that shares his remarkable story, while breathing new life into timeless hit songs

of the last six decades, from the 60s and 70s up to today. One moment he and his spectacular band will be weaving a song by Adele into a Lionel Richie classic, and the next, marrying Bruno Mars “Just the Way You Are” with the iconic “This Magic Moment.”

All the while sharing his incredible Cinderella story that began with a dream of being able to make it as a singer and make people happy.

Now more than ever, people need to feel hope that they can make something of their own lives. Which is why Chris Ruggiero’s “Livin’ the Dream” delivers a musically uplifting experience that engages and inspires audiences and lives on in their hearts long after he leaves the stage. If there’s any doubt that what he’s doing is resonating with people everywhere, his Facebook page reached a staggering 63 million people last year. And he’s just getting started.

PARKER DREW in “THE TWAIN SHALL MEET”

An evening with America’s two greatest humorists, Mark Twain and Will Rogers — with special musical guest Dan Weaver

Tickets $27

OCT 26 2024 | 7:30 PM

A comedic acting tour de force!

For over fifty years, actor, musician, and TV and radio personality Parker Drew has delighted audiences across the United States with his portrayal of America’s greatest author and humorist Mark Twain. “Mark Twain Revisited” has toured to 39 states and the US Virgin Islands in over 500 performances. In 1995, Mr. Drew gave his first performance as America’s most beloved stage and film actor, radio personality, and newspaper columnist Will Rogers, arguably the second greatest humorist in US history. It was no surprise then, that in 2015, Mr. Drew combined these two performances into “The Twain Shall Meet”, portraying both Twain and Rogers in one

theatrical production. It is a comedy, and acting, tour-de-force, that offers the audience the opportunity to “meet” these two great historic figures, whose observations on the human condition are as funny…and true… as when they were first presented over 100 years ago.

Joining Parker Drew is guest musician Dan Weaver, whose guitar stylings provide an interlude between the two characters. From classical and folk, to jazz and progressive rock, Dan Weaver’s phenomenal musicianship completes an evening that will be long remembered by the audience. And who knows, perhaps Will Rogers might be coerced into picking up a guitar himself for a grand finale!

The longest running Carpenters’ tribute in North America is beginning their 14 YearAnniversary Tour after having played nearly 400 shows in 40 states.

Considered one of the best vocalists of all time, Karen Carpenter captured the attention of a generation with the surprisingly deep material of her unabashedly catchy pop music. Singer

and playwright Lisa Rock has compiled a moving tribute to the music and life of Carpenter, and brings it to the stage with her 6-piece backing band. Dedicated to re-creating the true sound of The Carpenters, Rock and her band showcase some of the most memorable songs of the 70s including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and Mondays,” and of course “Close to You.”

THE RED HOT CHILLI PIPERS

Bagpipers who Rock!

“These are my boys!” exclaimed Sir Paul McCartney after rocking out to a Chilli performance.

“Awesome!” said film star Ewen McGregor after he guested on drums with the Chillis.

“Gotta get me some of that Red Hot Chilli Pipers! I WANT some!” tweeted actor Samuel Jackson after seeing the band perform on NBC in the summer of 2012.

Bagpipes with attitude. Drums with a Scottish accent. A blazing rock band and show so hot, it carries its own health warning!

It’s Bagpipes. It’s Rock. It’s Bagrock. AC/DC meets the poet Robert Burns. Where rock anthems sit comfortably alongside the great tunes from the glens and the mountains of Scotland.

It’s The Red Hot Chilli PIPERS – (NOT the Peppers!) – a 9-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers – who have been rocking the world from New York to Beijing to Melbourne and everywhere in between with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. The band has four music degrees from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and all the pipers and drummers have played at the top level in bagpiping.

The MadHatters began in 1997 as the first a cappella on the UW campus. There are two schools of thought on the origin of the MadHatters: first, that the founding members loved to sing and formed the group after choir rehearsals. The other, that the founders needed a way to fund their libation habits, discovered they could sing, and began charging people for concerts. We don’t know if either is true,

but that, as they say, is Hatters History. The musical prowess of the MadHatters has taken them to sometimes unbelievable heights. From performing at the UW Band Concert, to singing at Miller Park, the Governor’s Mansion, Lambeau field, and the White House (twice!), the MadHatters have performed at places that most college students can only dream of.
