The CoWrks Foundry announced the successful conclusion of its third cohort, comprising of eight tech and enterprise businesses which offer disruptive business solutions which are futuristic and potential growth drivers. Including BHORZVAN MOTORS, which has supported ASHWA RACING’S Hybrid Project from the time the team diversified into the Hybrid division of racing.
By using BHORZVAN ELECTRIC’S products, Ashwa Racing has been able to secure the podium finish during the formula Hybrid event at New Hampshire, USA. During the event, the team displayed its latest hybrid prototype, The RZX9H that secured 3rd place overall during Formula Hybrid 2019. Mr Nishant Kalbhor had given an exceptional presentation and featured Ashwa Racing in his presentation.

RECRUITMENT With the start of the new academic year, the college saw a lot of new enthusiastic budding engineer’s coming in. We at Ashwa, growing and expanding, wanting these new enthusiasts to become a part of the team, to help continue its legacy, provided them with the opportunity to do so, by holding the recruitment drive.

The recruitment test, being the first phase of the recruitment process is a day where the 1st year’s turn up with so much energy in large numbers for their first step towards joining the Ashwa Racing family. A test made to check their problem-solving abilities in a short period with the knowledge they have. A variety of questions ranging from subjects like maths to physics to aptitude which kept them on their toes, while if in one case where a car was braking in the other a ball was accelerating.

Following the aptitude test, shortlisted students were invited to the personal interview round. The personal interview round was a test of the candidate's technical knowledge in the field of automotive engineering. A word list comprising of various technical terminologies was provided and the candidates had to be prepared with a deep understanding of the concepts, their working principles and most importantly their applications in real life. This way the students would also be able to understand the dynamics of the car.
INTERVIEW
Apart from technical knowledge, the students were also evaluated on their interpersonal skills and soft skills. On the 19th of October, the results of the interview round were out and the batch of 2019-2023 was finally inducted into the team.

MAYANK SIMHA
TEAM LE
Team Captain-OSV
Mayank is one of the most dedicated member of the team. He is very approachable and is always open to lend a helping hand, no matter what the situation. He is a diligent worker with unmatched technical knowledge and constantly motivates everyone in the team. He believes in leading by example and everyone in the team can vouch for his work. He's not one to take credit, but it’s his vision that pushes everyone around him to strive for excellence in whatever they do. Mayank is one of the most supportive people. His methods of handling a situation are to be acknowledged. Moreover, he has constantly proved to be reliable to make the right decisions for the team at the right time. All of these leadership qualities of Mayank and positive attitude make him the correct choice for the role of team captain.
ACHAL ADIGA Project Manager-OSV
Achal has been assigned the role of a project manager for the OSV-2021. The inherent characteristics such as honesty and disciple within him are some of the most important qualities that a project manager should have. He is dependable, hardworking and accountable which helps him set an example for others to do their best in their respective tasks. He is a very good communicator and can convey his ideas very well to others. He provides constant support to all the teammates and helps them push themselves to work harder for the team. He is gifted with swift decision-making abilities and one can always count upon him to decide what is best everyone as a whole. The passion and zeal he shares for this project are second to none.
NITHIN G
Chief Engineer-OSV
Nithin Ganimaneni has been appointed the chief engineer for the Open Source Vehicle-2021. He is always involved in creating practical solutions such that specific plans and designs are executed intangible manner. He effectively works with other members to ensure all the tasks are completed on time without any hassles. He helps in determining the design goals of the project along with the organisation. He is a capable person of handling the team and its needs by identifying and procuring the resources needed, ensures the safety and reliability, negotiates with team members to generate ideas. Above all these qualities he also a polite and the kindest person the team has. He takes active responsibility in the workshop management and assigns roles to team members, ensures everyone is completing all the tasks assigned to them. This makes him a worthy chief engineer.

DHRUV GUPTA Team Captain-HYBRID
Dhruv is well deserved for the role of Team Captain for the Hybrid-2021 project. During his tenure of Ashwa and has shaped to be a responsible leader and a great asset to the team. He has a good sense of listening to the opinions of the team and taking an informed decision of different tasks. He is dedicated to the organization and passionate about racing technology. He is a quick learner and has adapted himself well to different situations faced over time. He has a sense of curiosity and is always questioning what is told to him and doesn't accept plain directions. He is bold and creative and comes up with unique solutions to problems faced by the team. He is accountable and trustworthy who delivers on all the tasks. Making him an ideal Team Captain.
ASHLIN GEORGE
Project Manager-HYBRID
Ashlin has been assigned as the project manager of the Hybrid-2021 project. He has a great vision in taking Ashwa racing to greater heights. Some of the qualities he possesses are communicating the organization's vision to his team members and assisting them to get it done, taking responsibility of the team's integrity and streamlined flow of the work without any obstacles. He is good at taking efficient decisions at the right time and situation to ensure proper administration. He works well under pressure and is capable of handling the toughest of the situations. He is very good at motivating others and inspiring them to work for the organization. His skills in handling managerial role are admirable, his dedication and passion towards the upliftment of the team and its goals make him an inspiring leader and worthy of his role. These skills which he possesses make him an effective project manager.
ARYAN SARAF
Chief Engineer-HYBRID
Aryan has the zeal to achieve a positive attitude. He has the drive to succeed and been opted to carry out the job of Chief Engineer as he possesses most of the qualities that a chief engineer should possess to undertake a project. He is always enthusiastically working towards making the team reach great heights. His ideologies make him stand out to be a very practical person be it any situation. His designing skills are commendable. He also has the determination to achieve and put together a better team. Being a confident orator, he is never afraid to speak his mind. He is capable of identifying and procuring the team’s needs, performs quality control checks, ensures the reliability of his role, works with the team to reach all goals whilst delegating tasks to each member. He is also congenial and engages everyone in completing their duties to their utmost ability.

OF THEKASHYAP SINGH KRISHNA ALUMNI OF THE MONTH Krishna Kashyap, fondly known as KK by his teammates, has been a part of multiple prototype construction efforts at Ashwa, including the team's first-ever hybrid vehicle-the RZ X5H. He is light-hearted, always smiling and a fun guy to be around, as told by his peers and juniors! KK worked in the Chassis and workshop management module and played an active role in performing and managing basic, daily operations in the workshop. He also ensured safety was given utmost importance, to create a conducive environment to work efficiently in the workshop. This included - deployment of safety equipment on the prototypes, that was developed by the team. KK was the go-to guy in any matters related to chassis manufacturing, be it fixture designs or welding. He has played an instrumental role in the assembly and testing of the vehicles at Ashwa. Assembly of the car is a Herculean task for every FS team, but KK played a crucial role at times when corrections to the assembly were necessary. KK is known for his time management skills. He, along with a few others in his team, ensured that the timelines were strictly followed, to get the car on wheels at the earliest possible time. His proactive participation in other subsystems' tasks was not only noticed and appreciated by his team members but served as an excellent example to all his juniors. His dedication towards his work has always been admirable and indisputable. After graduating from Mechanical Engineering in 2016, KK worked at Objectify Technologies as Metal Project Engineer and worked under multiple projects. He currently works as an Application Engineer at Wipro 3D. KK, We the team of Ashwa Racing, send our best wishes to you, for all your future endeavours!
