Going far and beyond with the Guru

Achal Raghavan, our mentor for Strategy and Business Excellence, is one of our all time great personalities who formed the foundation of our project.

Having spent more than 32 years in the automotive field, he is now into the profession of teaching as a visiting faculty in IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Udaipur and IIM Shillong.

This alone speaks of his excellence in his subject of Business and Strategy Excellence. Our operations and management foundations were laid by him during the inception of the project and has become fruitful over the years.

To be precise, he is the Dr. B R Ambedkar of Ashwa Racing's constitution.

It was a pleasure interacting with Achal Sir after such a long time and we hope to continue this long lasting relationship with him.

His support has truly been one of the key factors in getting Ashwa achieve the milestones, it has achieved. We whole heartedly thank him for his time and for all the energy and efforts he has put in over the years in getting Ashwa upto where it is today.

Mr. Hubert Reilard, Hon'ble President of the Indo German Chamber of Commerce has been one of the strongest pillars of support of Ashwa Racing.

On behalf of the entire fraternity of Ashwa Racing, we congratulate him on being conferred with the Cross of Merit, the highest civilian award in Germany by H.E. German Ambassador Mr. Martin Ney on the 30th of March, 2017, at Taj West End Hotel, Bangalore.

Back at Mallar-with a fresh group

United Industries is one of the major manufacturers of steel fabrication products that provides wide range of high quality semi-finished products in various engineering industrial sectors.

Located at Neelamangala on NH-4 about of 13 Kms from peenya Industrial Estate Bangalore the unit is on a 50,000 Sq.ft built area and is equipped with general and special purpose machines . Heavy Steel fabrication and machining are carried out here.

The Indian Luxury Expo brought leading luxury brands across 20 lifestyle segments to an elite and discerning target audience. A plush, three-day affair, the black, white and grey dress theme was in conjunction with a perfect setting that measured and breathed luxury at The luxurious Ritz Carlton. Every single component associated with the expo was magnificent.

The Ritz-Carlton and The Indian Luxury Expo make an ultimate combination for showcasing luxury products & services in Bangalore.

We were superlative of the rush we experienced together; glorious networking, stimulating entertainment, stupendous F&B and exclusive evenings!

It was a wonderful opportunity to have our RZX7 prototype on display amidst luxurious automotive brands and interact with their technical members and with an elite crowd that gathered at the event.

Taking a bite from the Big Apple The hybrid team landed in New York -the city that never sleeps, after a 19 hour long flight ,flying across the Atlantic.

After exploring the Big Apple, the team will travel to New Hampshire Motor Speedway to roar in the hybrid event.

This will be the team’s third appearance in the Formula Hybrid event and we aim to achieve a podium finish.

The team also visited the Indian Embassy and thanked the Hon’ble Consulate General Mrs. Riva Ganguly Das for helping us out with the hardships we faced in the US, and being a huge support for us in realising our dream of representing India on a global platform.

ALUMNUS FOCUS Brian Nikil Quadras,

Chief Engineer-RZX5, nicknamed ‘Chiefy’ by the team, is well known for his serene attitude and his ability to solve any technical issue a car may ever encounter.

Juniors who have been with Brian and have closely followed his work, judge him to be the benchmark for the role of a Chief Engineer. They say, "witnessing Brian work is an experience one should never miss on gaining, in an engineering career".

His work in every single subsystem has made him master even the most intricate aspects of the car. He is that one person, who can get the car from 'display condition' to 'running condition', single handedly.

His extensive work on 2012, '14 and '15 prototypes has given him enough experience to guide the future batches with the do's and don'ts of prototyping a race-car.

His knowledge on problem-solving, concerning any subsystem, makes him the go-to person for all the junior batches in order to solve technical glitches effectively and efficiently.

His humble and charismatic ways has made him the best person to look up to, and a precious gem to Ashwa Racing.

He is currently working as a Test Engineer at Ingersoll Rand. Alongside this, he continues to guide the team with all operations pertaining to the Chassis Subsystem.

The team is grateful to Brian for his contribution towards the project as a team member and of course now, as an alumnus. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for helping us out in times of need and we certainly hope to keep seeking his guidance in the future as well.
