Ashwa racing INDUSTRIAL VISIT SANSERA ENGINEERING
The team had an industrial visit to SANSERA ENGINEERING LIMITED, PLANT 7, JIGANI, BENGALURU on 9th August 2019. SANSERA, founded in 1981 with 30 employees and now the company has over 6500 employees- all thanks to their employee-driven motto. Sansera is Indias leading manufacturer of automotive engine parts, machined aerospace components and heavy commercial vehicle precision components. The plant-7 which the ashwa racing team visited was dedicated to the manufacturing of connecting rods. Sansera has achieved a great amount of recognition from Ducati, General Motors, Fiat and Toyota, where it has been maintaining zero rejection for the past 2 years. The turnover currently reaching 1300 CR and aims for 2000 CR in the next 3 years. Their CSR department has worked to adopt 200 schools, and also revived the lake near Plant 7. The team was welcomed with refreshments as soon as we reached. Raghunath K, head of the training department briefed the team about the company, its vision, mission and he introduced the team to the joint managing director of Sansera Engineering Ltd, Mr F .R Singhvi who addressed the team regarding how discipline, dealing with deadlines has helped Sansera to reach the pinnacle of success. He explained the EMPLOYEE DRIVEN motto of the company and enlightened the team about having the right attitude to build a world-class company. Mr.Raghunath then spoke of the companies EMPLOYEE INNOVATION program, where inputs from their employees are taken on how can the company innovate and grow more. The challenges the company may face due to electrification and strict emission norms of automobiles and sansera has always been one step ahead by expanding to aerospace domains and non-engine parts domains of the industry. Furthermore, 80% of the machines running in the plant are built in-house in another dedicated plant of their own.

This way all the students got insights on the internal workings of the manufacturing industry, After this, the students headed to the shop floor where the manufacturing and testing take place. One of the senior employees waked the team through the complete process, explaining all the details involved in the manufacturing process. It was a highly interactive session that provided students with practical knowledge. Finally, we were provided with a delicious lunch, which concluded the industrial visit. Ashwa racing INDIA INNOVATION SUMMIT
The month of August opened a gate of opportunities for the team, as the team was provided with the platform to display its 2019 hybrid prototypeRZX9H (placed 3rd overall at Formula Hybrid, New Hampshire, USA) at the INDIA INNOVATION SUMMIT.
The India Innovation Summit was the 15th of its kind. It's an annual flagship event of the CII(Confederation of Indian Industry) held at Taj Westend, Bangalore. The theme of the event was "Innovation Manifesto - Scaling for the Next Decade". We as a team firmly believe in the idea of innovation and its necessity in the growth of our organization.
The team had the chance to engage with domain experts of various sectors, who gave us insight into AI, green technology and various such aspects of technology, sharing with us their views on innovation. The two-day event was a platform for like-minded enthusiasts from diverse sectors with a unique mix of corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, govt. representatives, academia.
All in all, the team had a great experience interacting with experts who were very encouraging of our work and undertakings. The team looks forward to more such events.

OPEN DAY
Open day, as the name itself suggests, is the day when the workshop is open for everyone to visit and have a look at the present prototypes available for display, which are the RZX2-C and the latest hybrid prototype RZX9H which just came back from the US. Its 2-day event when students come to the workshop to have a deeper look at what Ashwa is, observe how it works, learn and understand the functions of every subsystem involved, ask questions to team members and finally understand what they would gain by being part of such a project.

The 2nd year batch of Ashwa took up the challenge of handling the open day, from making announcements in the classes to answering all sorts of questions asked by students. The workshop was rearranged, cleaned and some of the important components of the car were displayed. The team started off the announcements in classes about the open day at 9AM, Students in large number visited the workshop during the recess, out of their curiosity and interest in the project. During open day the team greeted more than 200 visitors which included students from every department. The fresher’s were also given goodies sponsored by MONSTER ENERGY. All in all the open day was a successful event

ORIENTATION
The team organized an orientation program on 2nd August 2019 for the upcoming batch of students who would carry forth Ashwa's legacy. The day began with the display of the RZX2C prototype to relieve the questions of the students and encourage them to join the recruitment process. Manasi Kadambi, a member of the Sponsorship, PR and Marketing team presented a small presentation about Ashwa Racing to the upcoming students. The presentation encased the journey of the team by indulging the students through videos. The perks of being a member of this esteemed organization created an atmosphere of pride for the college. The students were thrilled and excited and supported us throughout the process. The end of the presentation was marked by an interactive Q and A session where the students interests were rekindled thus filling them with eager to join the project.

Yet another month has come to an end, with the team spending hours together in the workshop and working meticulously to stay committed to the deadlines of the project. The 2020 combustion chassis has completed fabricated. All of the tubes and the clamps have been welded together thus concluding the welding, And now it has been taken out of the base plate and assembly of all the subsystems onto the chassis would be done.
