STATIC EVENT HIGHLIGHTS CLEARING THE TECHNICAL INSPECTION Our car cleared the technical inspection by clearing the Scrutiny, followed by the Tilt Test, Noise Test and the Brake Test.

DYNAMIC EVENT HIGHLIGHTS AUTOCROSS Our car completed the autocross with the best lap timing being 2:06. Our car was among the 5 cars that completed this event.

DYNAMIC EVENT HIGHLIGHTS ENDURANCE RZX4 became the first car in the 10 years of Ashwa Racing that completed the 22km long ENDURANCE couse. Best Lap timing recorded was 1:53. We secured the 3rd Prize in ENDURANCE and we also bagged the 3rd prize in the FUEL EFFICIENCY EVENT.

IN THE WORKSHOP The welding of our Hybrid Chassis is completed and is being assembled. The car will be soon taken to Fie Tech for fabrication of the bodywork. Here are some of the pictures of the welded chassis.

ALUMNUS OF THE MONTH SIDDHARTH MANDAL Siddharth Mandal also called as Mandal is Ashwa Racing’s “ALUMNUS OF THE MONTH” for Feb’15.This year he celebrates a decade in Ashwa4years as a student and 6 years as a Steering Committee member that includes 3 years as the committee’s chairman( Congratulations for not moving on in life...Seriously dude, we were 10 years old when you joined.

A decade ago, he was an apprentice to Arun Raj and subsequently a mentor to many Ashwa greats. We did not feel like enlisting his achievements, instead we hope he finds this and entertaining tribute. The Mandal is our notorious Wall Street Banker. He is the conjurer of our confounding financing structure and of our complicated Business Plans. He is our chief strategist– our old fox, our greatest showman and entertainer, our most reliable performer, our in-house poet, the keeper of our ideology and the guardian of our gates. He is our fatman...oops..I meant Batman m seriously-Batman-The Dark Knight-silent watchful protector(if nothing works he will sit on the enemy...LoL).

ALUMNUS OF THE MONTH In Ashwa, Mandal inspires great loyalty. He is respected for his abilities and loved as a person (erm…mostly). In him, stalwart, rationalism clashes with great empathy for all in the team. Unfailingly he will make sure you build the Car (if you don’t, he will make you). He is your professor-he will train you to deal with both hypocrisies and substances of life. He will teach you to leave out the long winter. He will explain why you do, what you do. If you are lost in Europe (literally), call him; he has been there enough number of times to get you back to civilization.

Otherwise, he has been a builder of restrictor defying Air-Intakes. If Gollum has “my precious”, Mandal has “my plenum”. On windy nights you can see him testing lift-angle variations of imaginary aircrafts. He adds panache to eccentricity (we kid you not). Finally as self-impressed that write-up on him may sound, all of it is true. A grizzled veteran of 8 FSAE Events, he would not want to us count his cars. Congrats brother.. We will fulfil the One Team– One Car dream you (and Arun and Shubam) have. And one day one of us will replace you and let you leave. Be there for the team until then.
