With the finish of 2015, we now are gearing up for next season’s first event, Formula Student India - 2016.

FSI 2016 is going to be held from the 23rd - 28th January 2016 at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.

Ashwa racing As on November 23, 2015 Ashwa Racing adds another feather of achievement on its cap by celebrating its 12th anniversary.

This could not have been achieved without all our sponsors and well wishers.

2016 combustion team

For the 2016 hybrid race season, we aim to clear the electrical scrutiny in the first shot.

Clearing scrutiny would allow us to compete in dynamics events and ensure a top 5 finish at the competition.

The 2016 hybrid event is scheduled to be held from 2nd to 5th of May, 2016.

Ashwa racing We have validated the theoretical calculations with practical values that we made for the 2015 hybrid.

The running X5, post event, was used for extensive data acquisition.

The engine was tuned to match the current requirements so as to improve our acceleration timing by a sec.

The current required for that power was acquired from the Agni95R motor performance graph.

The current was measured while testing.

2016 Hybrid team

The scans of our wheel rims, cam lobes and the coordinates of our motor mounting points were obtained with the aid of a CMM. This was carried out at Meritor.

As a result, we were able to design accurate motor mounts.

The data obtained by the cam lobe scans of the Pulsar engine helped us to carry out 1-Dimensional analysis with the use of Ricardo Software.

Besides, we have our semester end papers this month.

With a car to assemble for testing phase. There is a definite number of long sleepless nights ahead.

Meritor’s visit

Ashwa racing

A sponsorship meeting between Meritor CVS India Pvt. Ltd. and Ashwa Racing took place on the 23rd of October, 2015.

Representatives from Ashwa Racing - Karan Chatrath, Engine, Head of Sponsorship, Marketing and PR , 4th year team; Aditya G, Engine, 3rd year team; Aishwarya L U, Sponsorship, Marketing and PR, 3rd year team; Sunit Jagadeesh, Sponsorship, Marketing and PR, 2nd year team.

Mr. Pradeep Mirji and Mr. Vinod representatives from Meritor CVS India Pvt. Ltd. came down to our workshop.  They were given an update of the Italian Event and how Meritor’s support helped us to convert to a dry sump system.  Ashwa’s future plans were also discussed.  The Hybrid car was showcased and the architecture was explained.  Plans of Meritor helping us in thermal analysis of the brakes and bodywork of the car were discussed The team is thankful towards Meritor CVS India Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Pradeep Mirji and Mr. Vinod for interacting with its members. A long lasting partnership with Meritor is of great value for the team. 

Manufacturing Status

Manufacturing Status:  Laser cutting of chassis tube profiles completed at Magod Laser.  Solid fixtures and base plate milled.  Laser cutting of sheet metal fixtures completed.  Assembly of fixtures for chassis welding has begun.

Ashwa racing Shravan Mehra

Shravan Mehra is considered as the Guru for Product Marketing strategy in Ashwa Racing.

An alumnus of 2005 Mechanical Engineering batch. His ideas and vision has pushed boundaries in strategy approach domain of, Ashwa Racing product Marketing. His practices and principles are followed till date in Sponsorship Marketing Module.

Shravan has a degree in MBA from SP Jain and is currently the Director of Spectra pipe Ltd.

Ashwa racing Vivek Ram

Vivek Ram is known to be an innovative problem solver in the 2005 team.

An alumnus of 2005 Mechanical Engineering batc. Vivek Ram lead the Engine module for RZ05 prototype. His thought process and methodical approach has led to solving of several challenges in the engine domain that were faced in the year 2005.

Vivek Ram is a graduate Research Assistant at University of Kansas. He has taken up a project of NASA in the area, Curing management repair in bonded Composites.
