Everybody in the world needs water to survive.

Not everybody in the world has access to safe and clean water.

Imagine what it would be like if water stopped coming out of our taps, the shops ran out of bottled water, and our rivers and lakes dried up..

Hello. My name is Enestina. I am 9 years old. I live in Malawi. I use water every day just like you for drinking, cleaning, cooking.

I do not get my water from a tap. I walk to the river 500 metres away to collect water. I fill up a bucket with 15 litres of water and carry it home.

Sometimes I do this twice, or three times a day. The water in the river is dirty and sometimes it makes us sick.

I am 12 years old. I live on a farm in Kenya with my grandmother and two brothers. I need water everyday like you too. I found it very difficult to get water before. We do not live near a river, and there has been very little rain in the last few years.

Our family goat died because he had no water to drink.

Last year, Tr贸caire helped my family and neighbours to get clean, safe water. A hole was drilled deep into the ground to find water. The water never runs out.

We even have enough water to give to our new goats. Now we can sell our healthy goats to earn some money and buy more food.

Hello. My name is Qersi. I am 12 years old. I live in Ethiopia.

I go to evening school from 8pm to 10pm because during the day I am busy fetching water, collecting firewood and herding goats and cattle.

I fetch the water at a pump. I often meet the girls from my village at the pump collecting water too.

Fetching water is difficult work for me. It takes a long time because there are always lots of people waiting to fill their jerry cans with water at the pump. I would be happier if we had clean water source closer to my village. We need to ask the government to make a water source in our village.

Enestina, Tumbo and Qersi all know how precious water is. They never waste water.
