Where to Buy Ashville Uniform

The new uniform, including PE kit, is available to order via schoolblazer.com from the end of June 2026. Once you are registered and ready to order, simply enter the details of your child (including a few key measurements and their year group) and items relevant to your child will then be shown.

Schoolblazer can label all garments and provide a summer growth guarantee.

The New Friends of Ashville holds pre-loved uniform stock. At the moment this stock will consist of garments from the old uniform whilst stock is available. If you wish to contact them please email nfoapreloved@gmail.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did Ashville choose one uniform supplier?

Schoolblazer is a leading uniform supplier for independent schools and delivers quality uniform, good customer service and quick delivery times. Therefore, Ashville has continued this relationship with them. During the project, parent feedback regarding the difficulty in sourcing garments not supplied by Schoolblazer, such as a girls’ Prep School summer dress, highlighted the need for one supplier to be chosen.

Will pupils be able to mix and match old and new uniform items?

To maintain a smart and consistent appearance, pupils will not be permitted to mix old and new items of school uniform. However, recognising the importance of consistency for team sports, certain new team PE tops and netball dresses for fixtures will be able to be worn with elements of the current PE kit during the transition period. From Year 3 - Year 10, if pupils are selected for school sport teams they will be required to wear the new uniform team top. For Years 11 - Upper Sixth, as part of the sports programme the tops will be supplied by the school.

Will the old uniform be available to purchase during the transition period?

Although the old uniform will not be available through Schoolblazer from June 2026, preloved uniform will be available through New Friends of Ashville. We thank them for their support, particularly during this time of transition.

Is the new uniform suitable for warm classrooms and hot weather?

Both the Prep School and Senior School uniforms are designed to be worn in layers. Not all layers will be required at all times. For example in warmer weather pupils may choose not to wear their jumper/cardigan. They may also prefer to wear a short-sleeved shirt/ blouse. As with the previous uniform, guidelines regarding summer wear will be issued which include the choice for girls to wear white ankle socks.

Why has a four pleat, split skirt been chosen for senior girls?

Parent and pupil feedback in the survey with Mungo Dunnett Associates, reiterated during the project, highlighted that senior girls wish to maintain their modesty when in school and complaints are common regarding the rolling up of skirts. These new split skirts allow girls the freedom to move at the same time as providing a smart, modern look of a true skirt. Schoolblazer has received great feedback from pupils and parents in other independent schools that have implemented this design.

What if my child has difficulty wearing the new uniform due to their particular measurements, sensory needs or other additional needs related to neurodivergence?

Schoolblazer is experienced in delivering good customer service for all pupils and arranging special orders when necessary. If you have a specific requirement please contact Deputy

Head Operations, Claire Whitaker who will be able to advise working with our Learning Support Department when necessary.

How does the cost compare with the current uniform?

We have carefully reviewed the overall “basket price” and total cost of the current uniform compared with the new uniform per year group. Our analysis indicates that costs are reasonably comparable, with improvements in fabric quality and durability designed to offer better long-term value.

Will feedback during the transition be taken into consideration?

We welcome feedback to ensure all aspects of Ashville College life continue to develop. Please be aware that the process to create new garments and new uniform takes a number of years. The new uniform was signed off in October 2025 for launch in summer 2026. Following feedback from Prep School parents in early 2026 regarding a potential option of a revere collar Prep School girls’ blouse, we have developed this garment with Schoolblazer. This will be available in 2027.

Uniform Guidelines and Behaviour

Choosing to be a pupil at Ashville comes with many opportunities. It also comes with a number of responsibilities, mainly a commitment to learning and academic work, an awareness that we are a community of children and young people aged 2 – 18, and a pride in being an Ashvillian. The way we dress, the way we behave and treat one another, the way we work, are of critical importance in differentiating ourselves and staying true to our traditions, values and heritage.

Whether pupils are wearing the new or old uniform, we expect all pupils to take pride in their appearance and uniform.

As it currently happens, winter uniform is expected at all formal occasions, such as Speech Day and end of term services, during the year.

• Make-up, nail varnish and jewellery (except watches) should not be worn.

• Long hair should be tied back and of a natural colour; boys’ hair should be off the collar.

• Shirts and blouses should be tucked in at all times.

• All items of uniform should be labelled with the pupils’ name.

• Pupils should wear their House badge.

• The school uniform, as purchased from Schoolblazer should not be altered to heighten pinafore/skirt/split skirt length and pinafore/skirt/split skirt length should not be more than 5cm above the knee.

• Girls may wear one pair of stud earrings (one per ear).

• Boys should not wear earrings unless permission has been granted by the Head of Year. If permission is granted, one pair of stud earrings (one per ear).

• Pupils should wear Ashville uniform at all times, no crew neck sweaters or hoodies should be worn.

• Coats should not be worn around the College or in lessons without the permission of a member of staff.

• Shoes should be black leather or imitation leather.

• Shoes should have a heel height not exceeding 3cm. Stilettos are not permitted.

• Blazers should be worn to all formal functions including assembly.

• During the normal school day, pupils may choose which layers to wear (eg shirt/ blouse, shirt/blouse and jumper, shirt/ blouse with blazer, all layers).

• In summer girls may wear white ankle socks (trainer socks are not permitted).

• Blazers should not be worn when pupils play recreational sport at break or lunchtimes and must not be left outside on the ground / grass.

• In Prep boys in Year 3 to Year 6 play rugby. In Senior School, all pupils take part in either rugby and/or hockey. It is recommended that pupils are fitted with a custom mouthguard, but all must have a mouthguard to participate. Ashville works with OPRO, a dental organisation that specialises in mouthguards, to give everyone, including wearers of fixed braces, the opportunity to have a dentally fitted mouthguard at a reasonable cost.
