FLUIDITY OF MUSIC MUSIC PERFORMANCE

-West Loop, Chicago IL-

Designed a building that visually alludes to the fluidity and versatility of music that will be the incorporating the space. Through alternating waved, metal paneling, create rippling allusion of a wave that opens up to reveal the 2 main mezzanine lobby spaces for the theater.

SPATIAL INTERACTIONS

BOOKSTORE, GALLERY, CAFE

Address a wide variety of client interests and needs through creating an experience throughout various forms and spaces within the building to reflect its different bookstore, gallery, and cafe programs. Created a variety of interior spaces that allow for different private and public interactions. Created interesting spaces playing off hierarchy of public versus private, as well as with a play on light and shadow. Concept of bringing light into the building guided my design, resulting in various skylights and three floor plates that turn into varying mezzanine spaces that can overlook other spaces and floors in building.

STACKING

Restaurant & Office Infill Building

Design a four story building located in Chicago with required restaruant and office programs. The angular stackedd design of the buildign allows for more sunlight to reach into the floors. It also allows for patrons and employees of the restaurant and office to take advantage of the views of downtown Chicago. Create successful floor plans, sections, and elevations in AutoCad and Illustrator, and create final renderings using Lumion and Photoshop skills.

“BOOK STROLLING HOUSE” PRECEDENT DRAFTING

Researched and analyzed the “Book Strolling House” designed by Todot Architect’s and Partners in South Korea. Re-drafted existing floor plan, section, and elevations in AutoCad to demonstrate extensive skill and attention to detail with self drafting tools.
