Music Notes by: Ashley Sosis When you’re a choir person, it is difficult to read poetry by certain “often-set-to-music” poets without getting a tune stuck in your head. Christina Rossetti, who penned the text we use in today’s Offertory Anthem, “None Other Lamb” is one of those poets! Her “In the bleak midwinter” is one of our favorite Christmas hymns. A few of you have mentioned that you enjoy poetry shared here, so I thought I would print a lesser-known Rossetti poem that is also lovely for Lent. A Better Resurrection, by: Christina Rossetti 1.

Learn & Play Preschool’s Final Year: The leadership has been talking and praying about how we can move our school forward and increase enrollment. This year we created a Preschool Board, whose members brought many great ideas and were proactive in helping to get our preschool out and known to the community. Additionally, the church provided us with an advertising budget which gave us the ability to promote the school through the web; we received many calls from the website and were excited about the possibility of gaining more students. A few months ago, one of the members of our church came to us with a wonderful idea of how to possibly change the school to be more appealing to the families of the community. The leadership decided it would be beneficial to have a ‘Focus Group’ formed to talk about these new ideas and the preschool in general. The group included people from our Preschool Board, members of the church who either had children in the past or presently enrolled in our preschool, and people who are desirous of being more involved in our local community - all of whom are deeply committed to Trinity church. Through all these, we have discerned that this will be the final year of Learn and Play. There are seasons in our lives as there are in the ministries of the church. We are so thankful to have served so many families and invested in the lives of the children for this season of 12 years, however, we know the timing is right. We will complete this year and look forward to the next several months as we continue to invest in the lives of the children, helping them to grow in their faith and the skills that will help them prepare for kindergarten. We will also assist the families as they transition their children into a new school next year.

Looking for Childcare Workers: Trinity is looking for childcare workers for Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, Wednesday evenings - seasonally, and special services. Applicants must be 18 or older, able to lift 35lbs, and able to get on the floor to play with the little ones. This is a part time hourly position that pays $10 per hour. Member Care ‘Fellowship Time’: As we are beginning to move through Winter and looking into the Spring season, we have set aside several dates in-between the 9 and 11am services for fellowship time. The Member Care commission will be holding these fellowship times on TODAY, February 14th, 2016 and March 20th, 2016 between the 9am and 11am services, which will be accompanied by scrumptious snacks from Dunkin Donuts. During the fellowship time on March 20th, the Member Care commission will also provide home-made Hot Cross Buns! On these dates, there will be no adult discipleship. In addition to this, there will be a Town Hall Meeting on April 24th, 2016 (no adult discipleship on this day as well).

Community Neighbor to Neighbor: Grace Ministries will be selling raffle tickets to raise money to operate ongoing programs. The first of what will become an annual raffle event kicks off with 3 winners to be drawn on March 8 th at our 10:00am Volunteer Hour. All of the funds raised from this event will be used to support Neighbor to Neighbor’s work in our local community. Please consider helping us spread the message about this fundraising raffle. Organ Tours: Attention visitors: if you would like a closer look at the 1876 Johnson/Farmer Choir pipe organ in the choir loft or the 2013 Hood Memorial Portative Organ by the front of the church, please see Ashley Sosis after the 11am service for a tour or even a chance to play them!
2016 Chancel and Chapel Flower Open Dates: There are many open dates for both the Chancel and the Chapel flowers in 2016. If you are interested, please contact Caroline McKee at 449-3629. Please take a moment to look at the flower chart bulletin board to see what dates are currently available. PLEASE DO NOT add to or delete anything from the chart. Please Wear Your Name Tag!: Trinity is blessed by having beautiful name tags that have been cross-stitched and laminated for long life. Indeed, they will last a very long time if they just sit in the rack, never being handled or clipped onto clothing! New members find it very helpful to put names with faces, and visitors welcome such an effort on our behalf. As Trinity attracts more new families and individuals, it is most important that all parishioners wear their nametags each Sunday.
