SHORT STATEMENT
At Cornell University I have learned to develop my design ideas through hand drawings, physical model making, computer modelling on Rhino 3D, and computer drawings. For these projects I have used Rhino3D, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. I hope to further explore new skills as well as refine my current skills as I progress in this program, and with the opportunity of this internship.

01. Valle San Nicolas Structures Project Model
This project was a group project with Rhoda Ayele, Charlie Hill, and I. We had to choose a building to study and make a 1:64 meter scale, sectional structural model of. We chose the Valle San Nicholas Clubhouse by Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, in Mexico, for our project. For my contribution, I cut and glued together the majority of the beam and column pieces to resemble glulam like the actual structure, with the notching details to piece them together. I also used a water jet to cut out all the metal pieces, fit them into place and nailed all the pieces together as well.

02. Gun Hill Greenhouse
For this project we were given the former Gun Hill Factory in Ithaca as our main site. From the site visit I was inspired by the evident greenery in the space as well as its location on the hill and decided to make a greenhouse inspired house. The roof is sloped in order to allow sunlight in at all hours and peak hours. The smoke stack was an existing building that I decided to make a staircase to show the view from different elevations. The basement is completely separated highlighting it as a private bedroom space compared to the open floors above acting as the greenhouse. The shed beside the house is also an existing building which I chose to make a potting shed to add to the green spaces.

05. A Signature, an Object, a Chair.
In this project I started with studies of my signature to develop a symbol that represented the signature from what I saw as the main elements. After the development of the symbol, I made a chair around the same concepts, incorporating them whilst making a functional full scale chair.
