where efforts have been placed. “While we certainly have been talking in local terms about Main Street eventually becoming self-sustaining, we have not given them any direction from when that should happen that I’m aware of,” Prichard said. She made the request during the Tuesday,

July 21, regular meeting. Last week’s meeting was “business as usual,” with the consent agenda being approved and all town bills being paid. Council member Steve Trivett did ask about town council’s annual $23,000 donation to the Ashland Main Street Association and if the expectation will be that

ASHLAND – After being served a lawsuit from RogersChenalt Inc. and Green Acres Association LLC in June in connection to the zoning distinction of 53 acres of property located between Chapman and Thompson streets, the Town of Ashland and the board of zoning appeals was given until July 7 to respond to the litigation. Rogers-Chenault Inc. and Green Acres Associates filed the complaint in Hanover

Circuit Court in February, but withheld serving it until June in an effort to provide the town and zoning board additional time to work with the companies on the proposed development plan. At issue is whether the 53 acres of property located between Chapman and Thompson streets in Ashland has a condition stating that the area must be developed as a continuous care facility. The town believes that the

the group becomes self-sustaining. A change to Council Policy COU-548: Paid Time Off (PTO) was approved, effectively moving the accrual date from July 1 to June 25, the day that payroll is run, in an effort to make it easier for staff to see how much paid time off see PRICHARD, pg. 10
