"kath" means wood and "putli" means doll. Kathputli is a craft from Jaipur, Rajasthan about making wooden dolls by hand. This document has a very detailed storytelling through its dramatic photography with text that explains the whole process that a piece of wood (kath) goes through to become a doll (putli). These dolls are made for the theatre/ perfeormace art of puppetry and are also sold as souvenirs.
