What a funny summer, one minute it’s boiling hot and you’re looking for a cold refreshment, the next day you’re looking for a jacket and a hot drink. Real estate can be a bit like the weather, hot and cold, but at the moment we are settling in to a nice warm period.

Worst case is you end up repricing and still no interest, you then run the risk of accepting a let’s get the hell out of here price which is normally less than what you actually thought the home was worth in the first place.
It will contain things such as how the market is tracking, recent sales in your area and what’s on the market similar to yours. They will work out from statistics where your house sits in the market place; they will even give you tips of things you need to do to prepare your home for market. All of this is part of their service.
The easiest thing for an agent with not a lot of listings is to overprice, this is called buying the listing. It’s only human nature if an agent dollars tells you your home is thirty thousand more than anyone else’s is to choose to run with them. The risk here is if you are too far above the

Bruce family enjoying their dream home There is no need to get away from it all for Paul and Jane Bruce. The Highbank couple have built on their farm on the banks of the Rakaia River, in one of the most tranquil places in Mid Canterbury. The property at the end of a shingle road is on the way to a picturesque river fishing spot. “It’s like a different world down here,” Jane said. Building was something they had been contemplating for 20 years. “We bought the farm and it had no house on it, so at some stage we needed to build,” Jane said. Two decades and three children later they decided to convert a six-bay farm shed on the property to their home. Joseph Builders started on the project in February, and the family moved in in September. The architect-designed four-bedroom corrugated iron home retains aspects of the original structure, with poles and a high pitched ceiling being part of the design.
