Members of the Hinds community swimming pool committee are seriously concerned about the future of the pool, with a lack of volunteers and donations crippling the community resource. The pool season has already been shortened this year, with the pool not opening until the
beginning of December, and there are fears it could close permanently if the community does not get behind it. Hinds community swimming pool committee member Alison King said it cost between $40006000 to keep the pool open for four to five months, and the pool was struggling to raise enough funds to stay open.
