Ashburton residents are still unsure as to what will happen after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the United States 2016 election.
The 45th American president is a wild card and Ashburton residents are unsure what effect he will have on the world or New Zealand. The Ashburton Guardian asked people along Burnett and East streets what
they thought would happen now after Donald Trump won the US election.

HEATHER MOUNT JOY Said she is concerned about the situation and finds Trump “completely unpredictable”. She said she has no idea what kind of an effect Trump will have.
CANDICE CREQUER Said she has no idea what will happen now but thinks Trump has “backwards thinking” and is “quite racist”.
NAOMI CONE With Isabelle ConeManihera, would have voted for Hillary Clinton if she could. She said some people think there will be another war but she doubts it. “We will just have to wait and see.”
MIKE ROBINSON Thinks Trump will not have a great effect on the world. “I don’t think it will make that much difference.”
