A bright future remains a possibility for the Ashburton Domain Oval Pavilion despite it being red-stickered over the weekend. After initial shock and dismay over the handling of the process, Ashburton District Council Building Services manager, Michael Wong, said that the affected parties were informed of the decision
to place a red sticker on the pavilion on Friday. However, it appears as though the information wasn’t passed on by those initially contacted. Wong said that the council was alerted to the building, which sits on councilowned land and asked to investigate it and after doing so deemed it to be unsanitary. “There could easily be a common mis-
