The two organisations managing tourism and economic development in Ashburton, costing ratepayers more than $670,000 a year, are under review. The Ashburton District Council has employed independent consultant Peter Winder to take a hard look at both organisations to help the council decide whether ratepayers are getting value for the money they spend.
