The search for a missing fisherman feared dead at Lake Coleridge continued last night. Police advised yesterday afternoon that emergency services had been called DOW N Lnear O AMt D Hutt, around to the popular lake, 5pm on Wednesday evening to reports that a man had been swept under while fishing.
NOW!
The initial reports suggested that the missing fisherman had been attempting to aid another fisherman who had struck difficulties. Yesterday four members of the Police National Dive Squad were at Lake Coleridge planning and undertaking their search of the lake â including speaking to witnesses so they could ascertain where best to focus their efforts. âEnvironmental conditions are tricky,
as the lake is very deep and temperatures are around six or seven degrees,â police search and rescue co-ordinator, Phil Simmonds said. Late last night the team conducting the search were still out looking for the missing man, but weather conditions and fading light were proving a hindrance to their efforts. The search was called off for the night at 7pm with divers to resume again this morning.
