There is no community like ours.
The word that continues to come to mind is generosity. Liam Finley '26 shows us a prime example of generosity of spirit, serving and showing others what it means to be a Saint. When we look at the generosity of donors through the years of our time on Normandale campus, these are families who have given tremendously both financially and of their time. Most of the individuals noted tally up decades of faithful Board leadership, guiding us through multiple capital campaigns, COVID, and extraordinary enrollment growth. Our Close Up section highlights the generosity of volunteers who gift us with experiences that will live on in our memories forever.
I'll say it again: There is no community like ours. For your generosity, we are all grateful.
Blessings,

Wallace Worden Head of School

below are
Memories from my time volunteering for THRIVE, a summer mentorship program for elementary school kids, remain clear and vivid. As I walk the halls each day for class, these memories come alive like an interactive photo album.
Photo #1 - First Day Group Photo: Tired from morning practice and seeking service hours, I arrived on campus for my first day as an academic mentor. It was early in a Texas summer, so the flora still carried its vernal vivacity, not yet exhausted by months of egg-frying weather. Posing with the kids for a group photo at the School’s entrance, in the serenity of that peaceful morning, birdsong drifted beneath a rising sun as I contemplated the role model I wanted to be for the students over the next two months.
Could I adopt the effortlessly outgoing persona I had long admired in my childhood camp counselors, or would the kids sense my uncertainty?
Photo #2 - On the Basketball Court: Jaxson, like me, maintains a healthy skepticism, an ally against gullibility, but a quality that made him less inclined to heed the program’s mentors. Through countless games of HORSE, Jaxson slowly deemed me trustworthy. I was subsequently

dubbed “Liam Bird,” since I apparently bear some resemblance to basketball legend Larry Bird, but I like to think it was for my skills on the court. I realized that being an effective role model wasn’t about maintaining a facade; it meant having the courage and humility to let my inner child out for a game of basketball. From then on, my arrival was met with an enthusiastic “Liam Birddd!!!” from the kids, and I felt deep fulfillment for positively shaping their experience.
Photo #3 - An Artist Emerges: Valerie, our shyest student, cautiously stepped out of her shell by the end of the program. Shortly after our field trip to a local artist’s studio, I overheard her confide in the program’s founder, Mr. Gonzalez, that she aspired to be an artist. To this, we responded with genuine excitement, encouragement, and validation. Seeing the arc of each student’s goals shift from fleeting fantasies to intentional aspirations, I realized my purpose as a mentor wasn’t just to brighten each kid’s day, but to help them envision who they wanted to be and grow into that reality. As I pass by my School’s studios and galleries, I’m reminded of how everyone has to start somewhere, and I’m encouraged to imagine how far Valerie will go.
Photo #4 - Closing Celebration: At the program’s end, the air of jubilation was potent, carried by clear skies and everyone’s best dress. As students filed into the Union at the center of campus, they beamed and waved before showing their parents which masterpieces were theirs in the collection of artwork and projects set out. Each mentor had been previously tasked with honoring a student with a speech; fittingly, I was paired with Jaxson. As I took the stage, my nerves vanished; it didn’t matter that a hundred people were awaiting my words. I wasn’t reciting some contrived script; I was speaking from the heart, paying homage to the bright future of a young man I had the privilege of getting to know. A couple of months earlier, the idea of delivering a speech in front of so many people would’ve baffled me, but my newfound confidence and sociability quelled any doubts. Mentorship has made me immeasurably more empathetic and granted me a different perspective on how my actions can influence others, both of which will dictate the type of leadership I hope to display for years to come. As I look forward to my own graduation in that same space, the photo of Jaxson and his parents’ pride as I praised his growth will forever be the cover of my THRIVE photo album.

Look who was caught on scene.

By Wallace Worden Head of School
Honoring the past 75 years means being thoughtful and intentional about how we prepare for the next, and that has been at the heart of my focus this year. At the outset of this school year, I clearly articulated several goals to Faculty/Staff and our Board, goals that were born from gaps or opportunities that were presented through feedback sessions last spring. These aren't just my priorities, but commitments shared by a dedicated Leadership Team, focused on building on All Saints’ strong foundation and continuing our trajectory as a top-tier learning institution.
Our community and school communities across the country have seen too much loss. I still strongly believe that our greatest defense is knowing our students and families well; that said, there are programs and pieces we are implementing that will only help. We have expanded our Security team with additional highly experienced professionals and tightened our relationship with FWPD. We are in the process of privatizing Normandale to build an additional security outpost closer to McNair Stadium. From a student safety and wellness perspective, we started a partnership with the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation to implement a Peer Helpers program in the Middle and Upper Schools, recognizing the need for an all-hands-on-deck framework for student mental health wellness.
With Saints Institute in its second year, we have seen an intentional alignment across grade levels, Divisions and Departments. This is more than just annual or monthly in-service; it is ongoing and targeted professional development, collaboration and feedback that identify specific outcomes. It also means our curriculum review is now on a review cycle to ensure teaching and learning is evergreen and innovative.
We are reviewing in- and out-of-classroom experiences for consistency across grade-level teachers and departmental
teams to ensure students have access to the highest levels of program and curriculum delivery.
This one is big for me. I close every Leadership meeting reminding our staff that our attitudes are infectious. I expect everyone from team leaders down to our in-thetrenches crews to exercise teamwork and positivity. Joyful teachers equal joyful classrooms and strong classroom outcomes.
Expanding our campus master plan facilitates the execution of all of these other goals. Spaces shape experiences — student experiences, School culture, campus security, teaching and learning — and we need to elevate our campus to match the caliber of our programming. For example, the Brockway STEAM Center will not only free up classroom space in the main buildings of Middle and Upper School, but it will also increase alignment across those disciplines and provide program extensions that aren't currently feasible in existing spaces.
If you've made it to this point, hopefully you've read between the lines to see the connective tissue among all of these goals. Each impacts the other in some way, as is school life. These aren't lofty goals in my mind; they are attainable and reasonable and expected. Here's to another 75 years, and always keeping an eye toward excellence.

In celebration of our 75th anniversary, we are pleased to honor those who built and transformed the 147-acre campus we know today and are still developing. These people, most of whom were longtime Board members, gave generously of their time and treasure – financial and family, having children and grandchildren Saints. This is not an exhaustive list of donors; we stand on the shoulders of giants, named and unnamed. This is also not an exhaustive list of pivotal moments in our School’s history. A dedicated team of alumnae have published a 75th anniversary coffee table book which outlines our history from 1951 to present; it can be purchased here: aseschool.org/75th-commemorative-book.

The All Saints' Curriculum Foundation was established in 1997 by the Lee and Ramona Bass Foundation, and was a pivotal elevation point for All Saints' academic programming. It is celebrated for honoring classical tenets through the development of distinctive programs within our History and Classics departments, as well as fostering a community-wide appreciation for our School's intellectual heritage. The Foundation’s purpose is to support the School in the development of an interdisciplinary teaching approach to the political, artistic, literary and philosophical achievement of Western Civilization.

The Normandale campus opened initially for Lower and Middle School, and would ultimately join students Age 3 - Grade 12, Chapel and athletic facilities at one location.

The stadium was the first of its kind among private schools in Fort Worth and is home to Friday Night Lights, other athletic and community events, Senior Sunrise and field days for Early Childhood and Lower School.

The All Saints' Chapel was dedicated in 2003 and underwent an expansion and organ installation in 2018. It is home to the Daily Worship, weekly Eucharist, parent gatherings and many special ceremonies like Honors Convocations and Baccalaureate.

Although the gym itself was built in 2006, the Reid Family made a subsequent major gift to update and renovate the majority of the facility.

Home to Field Days for Early Childhood and Lower School, Young Field also bears witness to football, soccer and field hockey competitions.

The Dillard Center for Early Childhood opened to welcome preschool students officially back into the Saints family after a decades-long hiatus. Early Childhood is recognized as the best early learning program in Fort Worth and has transformed our enrollment model.

The Sellers & Campbell Union opened in 2018 to serve as the gathering place for daily breakfast, K-12 lunch, parent coffees and more. It physically and metaphorically connects all Divisions at the center of campus, with the shape and windows keeping all eyes focused on Chapel.

CORRECTION
In the fall issue, the graduation year of Lauren McCauleyMoore ’03 was printed incorrectly in the Faculty News section.

Laura King Dickinson ’93 is a proud Texan and Fort Worth native. The youngest of three, she has always believed she is capable of anything! She was educated from Kindergarten to Grade 12 at All Saints’ Episcopal School of Fort Worth earning the title of “Lifetime Saint.” She likes to joke that her journey at All Saints’ began in 1978 in the front seat, no seatbelt, of her mom’s ’76 Oldsmobile, the Silver Slug, taking her brother Michael to the Tumbleweed campus for middle school. While at All Saints’ she acted in all the plays, played basketball, ran track, and started/served in many clubs and organizations.
Laura earned a B.A. in History and French from Texas Christian University in 1997. Laura is a true Francophile and studied in Paris for the summer of 1996. She minored in Habilitation of the Deaf and pursued her passion for serving the deaf community in her first teaching role at the Regional Day School for the Deaf in Fort Worth ISD, Leonard Middle School. These were difficult and formative years for Laura as she taught Texas History in a classroom that swelled to as many as 47 students, up to 15 deaf, multiple learning and physical disabilities, and sometimes as many as two to three other adults in the room acting as intervention specialists and sign language interpreters.
She was approached by the administration to serve as a team lead, and they encouraged her to go into school administration. She and husband, Michael, married in 2001, and the same year she began a master’s degree in education with a focus on School Counseling. Quickly, she was hired on an emergency certificate to counsel at Keller High. After four school years of long commutes on I-35, God called Laura back to the westside to White Settlement ISD, where she counseled for 10 years at Brewer High School.
Laura and Michael were blessed with two girls: Trinity, 17, and Lyla, 14. Laura returned to TCU to complete her gap work towards her Licensed Professional Counselor certificate. While working 50 hours a week and raising two girls, she completed the additional 12 hours (6 in PhD. work), National Counseling Exam, and 2 years of Internship to become a licensed LPC in the state of Texas.
A trusted friend and colleague, US Science Faculty Brooke Terry, called Laura and told her that All Saints’ was seeking to launch a counseling program. When Laura read the posting aloud to Michael he said, “Laura, this is what God has for you. You were born to do this work!” In the last 10 years, Laura has built the counseling program from seeing individual students in a conference room to a premier independent School Counseling and Wellness Program that meets all four components of a comprehensive guidance and counseling program as prescribed by the American Counseling Association model. Laura recently completed her LPC Supervisors license to give back and grow the profession by supervising other counseling-hopefuls. Laura is so blessed to daily serve the community that formed her into who she is today.
