Amanda Salinas

Jack Brockermeyer

(Enrolled Grade 7) University of Arkansas

(Enrolled Kindergarten) Rice University

As an infant, Amanda survived open heart surgery, which set in motion her mission to help others become heart-healthy. When she was only nine years old, she began to volunteer for the American Heart Association, speaking at a multitude of AHA events. Along the way, she developed a great passion for giving and serving the community, not only through the American Heart Association, but also Cook Children’s (where she underwent surgery), the National Charity League and the Fort Worth Zoo. She also lobbied in front of the Texas Education Commission at the State Capitol of Texas, advocating for healthier school lunches and required physical education. Amanda will be pursuing a degree in Health Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

Jack is a Lifetime Saint and has been a high-achieving student from the very beginning. Beyond his impressive grades and test scores, Jack’s academic reputation is best defined by his intellectual curiosity, work ethic and earnestness, earning him the respect of his faculty and classmates. A natural leader and Student Ambassador, it was no surprise to our community when Jack was elected Student Body President his senior year. Managing rigorous AP and Honors courses, varsity athletics, responsibilities of Yearbook Editor-in-Chief and other extracurricular activities, Jack has become a role model for many Saints in the Upper School. This fall, Jack will begin studies in Social Sciences at Rice University.

Renée Merrill (Enrolled Grade 4)

Mike Williams (Enrolled Grade 7)

New York University

Stanford University

Renée is as comfortable meditating on a work of art within the hushed halls of a museum as she is front and center on the most boisterous musical theatre stage. Throughout high school, Renée has successfully curated a set of academic and extracurricular experiences that have more than prepared her for her continued study of art in college. From her Honors College Junior Honors Thesis documentary analyzing art’s place in the digital age to her award-nominated role as Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone, Renée has been a valuable contributor to our Fine Arts program. This fall, Renée will join the NYU community and become a part of its exceptional Art History Department in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.

Mike, a standout football player rated a top 20 recruit in the state and top 150 nationally, has signed to play for Stanford University, winner of the 2016 Rose Bowl. Mike is an All Saints’ four-year letterman and was elected Team Captain as a senior. He earned All-North Zone honors as a sophomore and was unanimously named All-SPC as a junior and senior. Mike humbly led his team by committing to excellence on and off the field, working diligently on the football field and maintaining a strong classroom GPA. Mike is now focused on obtaining a Business degree and playing football at Stanford in hopes of earning a chance to play at the professional level.
