Access Group (Oswestry and District) Oswestry and District Access Group is a voluntary group working to improve access and facilities for all those who are either resident in or visiting Oswestry. It is focused on supporting people with disabilities, the partially sighted and the hard of hearing, and parents with young children. The group works with the local authorities, providers of goods and services, and other organisations to meet the needs and solve the problems of access throughout the Oswestry area. Border Field Club (Oswestry) Oswestry Border Field Club is dedicated to studying the flora and fauna of the Shropshire Borders. The Border Field Club began life in 1948 as the Oswestry branch of the British Naturalists’ Association. In 1982 the branch became an independent society. Oswestry Border Field Club meets on the first Saturday of the month when short walks within about 30 miles radius of Oswestry are undertaken with a view to enjoying the flora and fauna. Two or three coach trips are organised each year to places further afield.
