Access Group (Oswestry and District) Oswestry and District Access Group is a voluntary group working to improve access and facilities for all those who are either resident in or visiting Oswestry. It is focused on supporting people with disabilities, the partially sighted and the hard of hearing, and parents with young children. The group works with the local authorities, providers of goods and services, and other organisations to meet the needs and solve the problems of access throughout the Oswestry area. CHALK CIC Community Projects (Oswestry) CHALK is an umbrella business which brings together and co-ordinates a number of projects to enable people from all backgrounds, who live locally to Oswestry, to learn valuable skills to enrich their lives and build a better community.

The CHALK shop in Oswestry is the centre pin for the whole of CHALK. Christian Aid raises money to give practical help wherever it is needed in the World. The organisation also identifies need, and campaigns for an end to poverty, and the effects of poverty on communities. Christian Aid Week takes place in May each year, when a street collection will be held.

The Border Field Club began life in 1948 as the Oswestry branch of the British Naturalists’ Association. In 1982 the branch became an independent society. Oswestry Border Field Club meets on the first Saturday of the month when short walks within about 30 miles radius of Oswestry are undertaken with a view to enjoying the flora and fauna. Two or three coach trips are organised each year to places further afield.

Jane Ridgewell School of Dance (Oswestry) The Jane Ridgewell School of Dance teaches freestyle, hip hop/street dance and cheerleading for children aged three years and over. For adults the school offers ballroom and Latin American dance at all levels from beginners to advanced.
