It is hard to believe we have come this far into the year as time continues to pass unnoticeably but we have the privilege of calling 2020-2021 none other than special. As we strive to view the positive ASD highschool, up until graduation. These events are just those listed in the calendar thus far, poi that many events are to be added as they com

MARCH

March is always the turning point before school gets serious for us. It appears to start off with a continuation of school weeks uninterrupted, with two granted flex days on the 4th and the 16th. The March SAT is scheduled for the 13th, so best of luck juniors! As late March hits, on the 25th, we are granted our 9-day spring break holiday, continuing into April, notably the last one until the end of the year.

APRIL

April has it?s way of feeling long, especially with our memories of strict lockdown attached to last year, but have no fear! April looks kind this year. Beginning with an arrival back from break and an extra day off for Easter, we are present at school for four days before the 3rd quarter comes to a closing, followed by a five day weekend for parent-teacher conferences. Just the next day, it is presumed that the celebration of Ramadan will begin for the month, possibly (but not confirmed) reducing school time as has happened in the past. After three days of school, we are set off on another generous three day weekend followed by a normal continuation of the school schedule. The DHW art show begins the 25th and is to continue to display for the next coming month.

ut swiftly. Our months and school events may not be nearly as packed as the past school years, but tives of situations as a community, let?s see how the * PROJECTED* rest of the year is looking for our pointed out to put into perspective just how much time we have left this year. We can only presume ome, depending on the pandemic. Let?s begin!

MAY

May... the month of exams... and success we hope to achieve. Students begin to pull their final grades together to finish their years strong. While AP Exams vary timings throughout the month, the SAT is set for May 8th, a chance for sophomores to get ahead and juniors to make another attempt. My advice, don?t stress it; sometimes you do better when you don?t prepare so hard. We are granted two flex days on the 3rd and the 19th as well as a five day weekend for the conclusion of Ramadan, Eid. Beginning May 17th to the 20th, seniors complete their final exams for classes, and (I believe) have the option to no longer attend school until their upcoming graduation. This is followed by two weeks of school for the rest, most probably to be filled with a. Lot. of.

Work. The last push!

JUNE As the end approaches, our community can?t help but feel bittersweet for the leaving class. The month starts off with a flex day Thursday, followed by a fulfilling Class of ?21 graduation. Seniors will be celebrated for their years at ASD and their hard work. As for juniors, sophomores and freshmen, they will likely have an exciting and enjoyable last two weeks of school as they always are genuinely fun. Be prepared to watch many movies in classes! And finally, we reach the end: on the 17th of June, the school will be dismissed for summer break.
