F: Every single one!
NB:Okay.Howdoyoucelebrate Navruz?
F: We celebrate with a beautiful table, with seven things that starts with the sound “s” Like “seb,” apple, like “sir,” garlic, like “seke,” coin or money. Like “sonbol,” hyacinth – seven different things. Samanak…. And every single one has a meaning. Or sabzi, like sabzi [greens], that you guys have here. So we put everything on a table, alongside a goldfish, a life goldfish that is swimming around, and lots of flowers. We wait exactly for the moment that spring starts. And we celebrate it. We also have a Quran on the table, and if you have another religion, basically you put whatever the book of your religion is on the table.
NB:Thankyou!Nextquestionis… whatdoyoucookonthenightof Navruz?Whichfoods?
F: Sabzi polo. Can you speak Farsi also? NB: Yeah, yeah. Sabzi polo, it’s a food that everyone cooks on the night of Navruz.

NB:HowdoyoucelebrateNavruz?
Y: About traditions? We are making the haft seen, haft sheen, and haft mewa, also. And we have like traditions like an eid gardak (ид гардак), but we call it ghkilo ghuz ghuz (гкили гуз гуз). Children are coming to the houses, and they are saying poems… let me see, I want to share this poem Another tradition is where children are playing with boiled eggs. And we have a tradition where we put something on a… how do you say… a bull’s face, and then we carry him to another place, and then we start to plant something. Usually, people play music, and they wear new clothes That’s all
NB:Whatkindoffooddoyoucook onthenightofNavruzinPamir?
Y: We are cooking bursoq (бурсоқ), shurbo, just like they do in Tajikistan.
NB:WheredoyougoonNavruz days?

NB: Do they all start with “seen”, with the letter s?

NB:Thelastquestion,doyoumake sevenfruits,orhaftmewa,in Pamir?
Y: Yeah.
NB: Really?
Y: It’s just like in Tajikistan.

ACelebration forEid
WRITTEN BY EDITED BY AHMAD SHOAIB SAEDI OZAIR SARAJ & MUHAMMAD YAKUBOV
As a widespread community, Muslims have their own traditional celebrations. Eid is celebrated by Muslims widely throughout the globe. It is held within specific days What makes this event special is that no matter who you are or what race you are, as long as you have Islamic faith, you can join this festival and observe the beauty of a community from all over the world. To make it specific, Eid is more than a cultural festival: it is originally a sacred event that is based in prophetic history.
What makes this event special is that no matter who you are or what race you are,you can join this festival and observe the beauty of a community from all over the world.

It is for being happy and expressing joyfulness because hearts are purified then after a period of fasting and staying away from committing either major or minor sins.
Eid-al-Fitr is a festival celebrated within the first three days of Shawwal (the 10th month of the lunar calendar). It is a holiday throughout all Muslim communities. On these days, Muslims gather, visit their relatives, and ask forgiveness from one another for their mistakes. People throw parties and enjoy their time being together on these peaceful and blessed days. Children are also excited about receiving gifts from elders. The term “Fitr” is an Arabic word that means purity.
rone ical
Indeed, it comes from Abrahamic theology. When Allah the Almighty ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael, he obeyed without hesitation. His pure intention and abiding nature led him to be rewarded with his son returning to him Meanwhile, Allah sent a sheep to be slaughtered instead. Since then, Muslims have regularly celebrated this event as a blessing from the Creator and in memory of Abraham and his son Ishmael.

Since we are so close to Eid-al-Fitr, it is highly recommended to celebrate it in an admirable manner. Let it not be unsaid, Ramadan passes and teaches us useful lessons though we ought to keep up our good deeds even after that, especially during Eid days.
It’s me, Ahmad Shoaib. A fortuneseeker with great dreams, I am 22 years old and am originally from Herat, Afghanistan. I studied civil engineering. I am currently a parttime freelancer. I joined the American Space in Dushanbe to enhance my English skills.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
On the morning of the first day of this Eid after offering the Eid prayer, all Muslims who have sufficient wealth, slaughter animals like sheep, cows, or camels for the sake of Allah. They donate one-third of the sacrificial meat to poor and deprived families so that the entire Muslim community would share happiness whether they have facilities to celebrate or others help them through sympathy, companionship, and financial aid.
All of these traditions are practiced by Muslims worldwide from a general perspective. If we take a deeper look at a specific region among Asian Muslim communities; for instance, Afghan and Tajik people, we will figure out that there are some unique customs within their communities Afghans spread colorful tablecloths of various types of nuts while Tajiks are accustomed to serving their guests with some local foods like rice and meat. Upon celebrating Eid-al-Adha with the period of sacrificing animals, there are big meals, mostly barbecues, in nearly every house in Afghanistan. Since we are so close to Eid-al-Fitr, it is highly recommended to celebrate it in an admirable manner. Let it not be unsaid, Ramadan passes and teaches us useful lessons though we ought to keep up our good deeds even after that, especially during Eid days.
