Whenwillmyinternshipbegin?
IfyoustartedASCTEasaSophomore, yourInternship501placementwouldbe intheSpringTermuponcompletingthe 400-levelcoursesintheFall&Winter
Terms.TheseplacementswillbeginattheendofFebruaryandendinAprilofeachyear.
IfyoustartedASCTEasaFreshman,theInternship501placementwouldbe36weeks assignedbyASCTE,coveringFall,Winter,andSpringTerms.Year-longplacementswill begininSeptemberandendinAprilofeachyear.
DoIhavetocometoschoolatthebeginningoftheschoolyearifmyinternship doesn'tstartuntilSeptember?
Yes.Allstudentsarerequiredtobepresentatschoolwhentheyarenotattendingtheir internshipforanyreasonotherthanillness.
MayIchangemyinternshiphostagencyonceitisassigned?
No.OnlyASCTEcanchangeyourplacement.
WillASCTEknowwhatIamworkingonduringmyinternship?
ASCTEInternship501Supervisors(schoolemployees)willvisitandmeetwithstudents andtheirassignedindustrysitesupervisorweekly.
MayIfindmyowninternshiphostagency?
No,allstudentswillbeassignedtoaparticipatingagency.
HowmanyinternshipplacementswillIhave?
Studentswillhaveoneplacement;however,thehostagenciesmayprovidestudents theopportunitytoworkindifferentareasduringthatplacement.
WillIberequiredtoattendinternship501throughschoolbreaksandholidays?
No,studentswillnothavetoworkthroughbreaksandholidays.Theywilladhereto ASCTE'sscheduledschoolholidaysandvacations.

ASCTEdoesnotprovidesummerinternshipassistancebeyondpostingsinthe"ASCTE WEEKLY"andCANVAS.Studentsdesiringasummerinternshipmustapply independently.
Howwillcollegesviewtheinternship?
TheinternshipisarequiredcourseforASCTE.Manycollegesanduniversitiesrequirean internshipformanymajorsandareacquaintedwithitsvalue.KeepinmindthatASCTE studentswillhaveallrequiredhighschoolcreditsforadmissionsintocollege.
AmIexpectedtoworkfrom9-5MondaythroughFriday?
No.InternshipsareMondaythroughThursdayfrom9:00-2:00.Studentswillcometo schooleachmorninganddepartfortheirinternshipsat8:45am.Studentsarerequired toreturntocampusby2:15daily.
WillIhaveschoolonFriday?
AllstudentsarerequiredtocometoschoolonFridays.
HowwillIgettomyinternship?
StudentswillbeallowedtodrivetotheirinternshipsfromASCTE;studentswithoutcars willbeprovidedtransportationbyASCTE.
HowwillIeatmymealsduringaninternship?
ASCTEwillprovidethestudentswiththesamemealsduringaninternship.Students willpickuptheirboxedluncheachmorningfromthecafe.
WillIbeabletotakeAPcoursesduringinternship?
Yes.seniorswillbeabletotakeofferedAPcoursesduringfirstblockorsixthblock.
MayIenrollinearlycollegeordualenrollmentduringmyinternshipterm?

Allsessionsarevirtualandwillinclude anASCTEinstructorwiththeabilityto viewallcomputerscreensandtheability topopinandoutofthesessions.
