ASC REGION #3 Sophomore Construction Summit Scholarship Application ASC Region #3, along with KIEWIT Corporation and NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) are proud to announce a scholarship opportunity for a deserving underclassman from your institution to attend a 2day workshop at the 2017 Region #3 competition October 16th – 19th, in Downers Grove, Illinois. Over the three days, students will participate in classroom instruction, site visits, and opportunities to network with KIEWIT and NECA professionals. During this time, students will work alongside other university students on developing their construction knowledge and increasing their skills in the industry. As part of this scholarship opportunity, the student will attend the career fair on Wednesday evening from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and take part in the opening ceremonies. On Thursday, all scholarship students will participate in all day activities planned by KIEWIT. On Friday, all scholarship students be with NECA for activities and visits set up by the host. On Saturday, they will attend the awards breakfast and workshop wrap up before returning to their home institution. The scholarship will cover lodging at the conference hotel Wednesday evening through Saturday morning, all meals, and the registration fee for Region #3. Students will be responsible for their own travel costs to and from the event. You may be able to coordinate a ride with the competition teams that are coming from your school. Students are to bring personal PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and appropriate apparel for site visits, workshop environments, and business casual attire for dinner. Business appropriate attire for student is recommended for the career fair. Qualifications for the scholarship: 1. Eligibility: a. Sophomore standing or Junior (5 year programs), Outstanding Freshman 2. School must be a member of ASC Region #3 3. Must be able to participate in all activities of the workshop and conference 4. Must attend all functions 5. Must submit all required elements of application a. Application b. Letter of Recommendation from faculty c. 500-word essay

Initial APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 10tht, 2019 All submitted applications will go through an evaluation process from the ASC Region #3 scholarship committee and awardees will be notified by September 15th. All awardees will be required to submit an acceptance or rejection acknowledgement to the committee within two weeks (14 days) of receipt of scholarship award.
