ASC 2017 REGION III DESIGN-BUILD COMPETITION PROBLEM INTRODUCTION The 2017 ASC Region III Design-Build competition will be a new main entrance and a patient tower vertical addition to an existing facility, Good Life Health Center. Proposals are to be prepared in accordance with specific criteria that will be distributed at the Pre-Bid Meeting on Thursday, October 19, 2017. At that meeting, teams should present one (1) hard copy and one (1) electronic copy on a flash drive of the required prequalification information. This shall include: team member introductions, general company overview, project organizational chart, completed AIA A305 Contractor’s Qualification Statement. Maximum length of this document (not including the AIA A-305) is eight 8 ½ x11, single-sided pages. Following receipt and evaluation of your prequalification information and written proposals, schedules, estimates and design information, your team will be invited to present your qualifications in person and answer questions from the selection committee. SELECTION CRITERIA The successful Design-Build Firm will be selected based on the following:

PROJECT OVERVIEW McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., as “Program Manager”, on behalf of Good Life Health System, intends to procure a qualified design builder to provide services for the Good Life Health Center vertical expansion. The project scope includes constructing a 3-story, vertical addition on top of an existing 6-story building. Each floor will have 28 patient rooms and all support functions (i.e. three nurse/work stations, storage rooms, clean supply, soiled utility, electrical rooms, IT/Data closets, nourishment, and meds room). In addition, each floor will need space for the unit operational/supervisor director office, staff conference room, and staff break rooms.
