Welcome to the
2026/27 Jumps season at Ascot. Prize money across our eight Jumps meetings from October to March will once
again be in excess of £2.5 million with some targeted increases in particular for our Graded and developmental races. A record 12 races this 2026/27 season will be worth £100,000 or more while the five days in 2026 are up by 5% and details for the three days in 2027 will be published in December.
Last year we were delighted to welcome some of the very best National Hunt talent from both sides of the Irish Sea to Ascot. November’s two Grade 2 contests attracted the top-class Jango Baie, who went on to finish second in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, and exceptional mare Wodhooh who recorded two Grade 1 victories later in the season. Meanwhile it was great to see the admirable Jonbon record a famous double in our two Grade 1 Chase contests, the BetMGM Clarence House Chase in January and the Betfair Ascot Chase in February.
was also a stalwart around this track, running here 18 times and winning three races - the £100,000, three-mile handicap in October, a race he won in 2020, now carries his name.
The Festive Handicap Hurdle, our final race before Christmas, once again proved to be extremely strong form with the first four home all winning again later in the season including Wilful following up in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. All in all five winners in March also lined up at Ascot at some point in the season including Johnnywho, Martator and Il Etait Temps who won the Champion Chase.
We are all set for another thrilling Jumps season and look forward to welcoming you back to Ascot over the coming months.
Once again there are no early closing entry conditions for our three Grade 1 races – the Howden Long Walk Hurdle, the BetMGM Clarence House Chase and the Betfair Ascot Steeple Chase – to allow connections greater flexibility when making running plans.
We are delighted to recognise the Scudamore family’s contribution to National Hunt racing at Ascot by renaming the Listed Flat Race in December in their honour. Last year that contest was won by Bass Hunter who went on to finish third in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. Regal Encore
