Position Summary:
The American School of Bombay (ASB) seeks a Middle and High School Mathematics Teacher to join its diverse international community of educators The teacher will design and deliver mathematics instruction that develops conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and the application of mathematics in real-world contexts The role includes teaching mathematics across Grades 6-10, aligning instruction with AERO Common Core Math Standards The teacher supports students’ academic and social-emotional development while contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture and a collaborative professional community.
Your Responsibilities at ASB:
Teaching and Learning:
● Design and deliver differentiated mathematics instruction that develops conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving through everydat and interdisciplinary applications
● Teach mathematics across Middle School and High School
● Integrate technology and digital tools to support engagement, collaboration, and mathematical exploration
● Utilize formative and summative assessments to track progress and deliver targeted, actionable feedback
● Adapt instruction to students’ developmental levels, prior knowledge, and learning needs
Curriculum and Planning:
● Design authentic learning experiences aligned with AERO Common Core Math Standards.
● Use data to inform instructional decisions and refine practice.
● Integrate computational thinking, quantitative reasoning, and data literacy into instruction.
● Collaborate with colleagues to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
● Maintain curriculum documentation, assessments, and instructional resources using school-supported platforms
Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities:
● Engage in continuous professional learning, coaching, and reflective practice within ASB’s coaching-based culture
● Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, analyze student learning, and enhance outcomes.
● Participate actively in departmental, divisional, and school-wide meetings.
● Model professionalism, academic integrity, and ethical conduct.
Student Wellbeing:
● Serve as a grade-level advisor to support students’ social-emotional development.
● Build positive relationships with students and families to support learning and wellbeing.
● Supervise students during breaks, transitions, lunch, and other assigned duties to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
● Chaperone students on experiential learning trips, including the Week Without Walls program
● Lead or support co-curricular activities that enrich student learning and school life
Who We’re Looking For? The ideal candidate will bring:
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a valid teaching credential in mathematics.
● Minimum three years of math teaching experience in a K–12 accredited school.
● Strong understanding of adolescent development and math instruction.
● Experience integrating digital tools and STEAM connections into math learning.
