Gift #3 Small Gifts, Big Encouragement When airstrikes and artillery attacks forced Min Zaw Htet’s entire village to flee, his family left behind their home, land, and belongings. The youngest of seven children, Min Zaw Htet now lives with his family near ASAP-supported Nauk Kone Chauk School, where they struggle each day to find food, clothing, shelter, and work. Despite these hardships, Min Zaw Htet faithfully attends second grade, enjoys learning, and plays happily with his friends. At school, he is also discovering God’s love through His Word. Gift #4 Help Children Learn and Thrive Thura Aung wanted to attend ASAP-supported Bago Inpin Thet Adventist School in Myanmar so badly that he pleaded with his parents to let him transfer. His parents, Kyaw Win and Mya Mya, were hardworking Buddhists raising three children. Thura Aung, their oldest child, attended the local government school until friends invited him to attend Bago Inpin Thet Adventist School. Drawn to the school and what he saw there, Thura Aung wanted the chance to study in that environment. Eventually, his parents agreed. At school, Thura Aung studied the Bible, experienced the care of Christian teachers, came to know Jesus, and chose to be baptized. Soon, his younger brother and sister also enrolled. They too learned about Jesus, accepted Him as their Savior, and were baptized. Today, Thura Aung is known as diligent, polite, dependable, and eager to learn. He continues to practice his faith and pray for his parents and grandparents, hoping they too will come to know Christ. Gift #5 Support Church Planters When church planters John Naing and Isaac Theint came to Phyu Phyu’s village in Myanmar, they cared for her in practical ways. They prayed with her, helped her get medical treatment, studied the Bible with her, and continued visiting and supporting her family. Through their ministry, Phyu Phyu chose to follow Jesus. As these church planters continued to serve, their steady presence gave her family time to experience Christ’s compassion, ask questions, and grow together in faith. Gift #6 Help More People Meet Jesus Anek Fuengklang had no interest in God. Living in Sai Ngam Village, Thailand, he drank alcohol and trusted occult practices and spiritual traditions he believed would protect his family. His wife faithfully attended church, but Anek saw faith as her concern, not his. Then one frightening night, everything changed. His wife became seriously distressed, and the rituals Anek relied on brought no relief. Feeling helpless, he took her to the local church, where ASAP-supported church planter Sangdiboot Panyawan and church members read Scripture and prayed. After they had prayed with her several times, Anek’s wife experienced peace again. The experience opened Anek’s heart. He began studying the Bible with Sangdiboot and later attended evangelistic meetings in his village. As he listened to God’s Word, his understanding deepened. He surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized. Anek later donated land for ministry, completed evangelism training, and now serves faithfully as an ordained elder in his church. Gift #9 Help Reach the Unreached When David Sone returned to Banglai after more than a year of mission training, he carried a burden for the people he loved. Today, he serves as an ASAP-supported church planter in a place where following Jesus can come at a high price. At first, villagers rejected his message. Friends mocked him, family members pulled away, and his uncle warned him to stop preaching or leave the village. Discouraged, David prayed for God to open hearts. Then an old friend spoke up. He remembered David’s former life with drugs and told the villagers, “This man became a Christian, and he was able to break free from drugs. His God must be real!” That testimony stirred curiosity among the people. Slowly, their hearts were softened, and truth began to take root. Gift #16 Bring Urgent Relief When violence swept through her village, May Thu lost nearly everything. After her husband was killed, she fled with her two children. Each day became a struggle to survive. Her children often cried because they had so little to eat. Sickness and hunger left May Thu growing weaker and unable to work. ASAP-supported church planter Benjamin Khai and his team found her too weak to stand. They brought food and water and prayed with her. Right away, she felt strength return to her body. She said, “I felt warmth for the first time in months.” Benjamin and his team visited her daily, providing food, medicine, and care for her children. Through their care, she experienced Christ’s love, began attending Sabbath meetings, and gave her life to Christ. Her transformation also changed Aung Min, a shopkeeper who had distrusted Seventh-day Adventist believers. Watching them serve May Thu without asking anything in return, he admitted, “I was wrong.
