Excitement filled the night air in Bethany. With the Passover just days away, Jesus was headed to Jerusalem for His coronation as king of the Jews. Or so His followers hoped. But those gathered at Simon’s table that evening were oblivious to what lay ahead. All, that is, except one unwanted guest. “She had heard Jesus speak of His approaching death, and in her deep love and sorrow she had longed to show Him honor” (The Desire of Ages, p. 559). Quietly, Mary slipped into the room, “... having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.” “And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil” (Mark 14:3; John 12:3, NKJV). Soon, the murmuring started. “Why this waste?” (Matt. 26:8). But Jesus saw things differently. In a few days, while Mary’s critics slept, deserted, and denied Him in His hour of trial, the memory of her gift would encourage the Savior’s heart, “… an earnest of the love that would be His from His redeemed ones forever” (The Desire of Ages, p. 560). The world desperately needs more Marys. Through such devoted disciples, Christ “… diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2 Cor. 2:14), but this requires “breaking the bottle.” “Few appreciate all that Christ is to them. If they did, the great love of Mary would be expressed… Nothing would be thought too costly to give for Christ…” (The Desire of Ages, p. 565). Jesus is coming soon, but three billion suffering and unreached people in the 10/40 Window don’t know it yet! Each item in this gift catalog represents an opportunity to tell them. Let us “break the bottle, and the fragrance will fill the house” (The Youth’s Instructor, April 12, 1900).

GIFT #2 – TRANSFORM LIVES AT THE CHAMROEUN PHAL SCHOOL “I love my teachers!” reports Kimleang, a sixth grader at the Chamroeun Phal Adventist School. “I couldn’t understand anything the teachers taught at my old school. And I complained whenever my mom asked me to do chores. Now I respect my teachers and my mom.” Once a Buddhist, Kimleang now attends church and considers herself a Christian. What caused her transformation?
EDUCATION GIFT #1 – NURTURE YOUNG DISCIPLES Ma San Win deeply loves Jesus! She is a Karen seventh grader at the ASAPsupported Thukabee Adventist School in Myanmar. She learned about her amazing Creator for the first time in Bible class. Then, she discovered that Jesus has the power to not only create the stars, but a beautiful new heart in her, too. Though it wasn’t easy, Ma San Win decided to follow Jesus no matter what! When she was in the fourth grade, her Buddhist mother tried to transfer her to a government school, but God overruled and she got to stay. Her family opposed her decision for baptism, but again, divine intervention made that special day possible. Ma San Win’s family still urges her to join in their Buddhist rituals at the temple, but since she keeps close to Jesus, He gives her the strength to stay true to Him. Your gifts to ASAP’s Education Fund help vulnerable children like Ma San Win become shining stars in a dark world. ASAP treasures your support for over 80 schools serving more than 5,000 at-risk students.
Kimleang learned to love, and now she loves to learn! This is the impact of Christ-centered education on character development. Here are some ways your love gifts can keep the Chamroeun Phal School going strong: $7.50 for one student’s textbooks (106 needed) $100 for library books $180 per teacher for teaching materials $1,099 to buy instruments for the school’s new music program
GIFT #3 – SPONSOR A STUDENT As a young boy, Phu stood out with his thick, wavy hair and big, mischievous eyes. He often jumped out of his seat and darted around the class at the Vietnamese Feed & Read School in Phnom Penh. There was never a dull moment with Phu! Now he is a mature, godly young man who loves teaching children at the school that helped change his life. (Check out his story in ASAP’s Mission Matter’s video, “From Dropout to Difference Maker.”) Your dollar-a-day commitment will not only change the life of one student like Phu; it could change many more lives as he or she grows into an active disciple of Christ. Isn’t that an exciting thought? Choose a student to sponsor online today! $30 per month to sponsor an at-risk student ($360 per year)

GIFT #5 – SPONSOR A TEACHER Teaching is a tough job, especially when your students’ families are dealing with poverty, war, and other harsh realities. ASAP teachers are missionaries in every sense of the word. Even their children are missionaries. Take Timothy* for example; he is an ASAP teacher's son who brought his Bible to his friend's home because there were bad spirits there. He prayed a simple prayer for this Buddhist family and told them that Christians need not be afraid of bad spirits because God is stronger and protects them. Since then, the spirits have left that home! Come alongside these teachers and their families by sponsoring and praying for them daily. $40-$160 per month, depending on location (one-time gifts also appreciated)*
GIFT #4 – SUPPORT THE MAE SOT ADVENTIST MISSIONARY SCHOOL
*Visit the sponsorship section of our website to meet teachers in need of a sponsor.
Imagine laboring long hours as an illegal migrant worker at a factory in Thailand, sweating for a pittance. You rationalize that this life is better than the war zone you left behind, but your mind is filled with worries, like how to provide an education for your children.
GIFT #6 – PROVIDE BENCHES, TABLES, CHAIRS, AND PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Thai church members have adopted a school in Mae Sot that not only educates the children of migrant workers, but also serves their families’ needs. With enrollment increasing, they’ve asked ASAP to provide about 25% of the school’s budget this year. $10 per Bible for newly baptized students $10 to buy a soccer ball for one classroom $400 for electricity $833 for textbooks
6
Many ASAP schools in conflict zones lack basic necessities, like benches for students to sit on. Soon, Karen teachers and parents from 16 ASAP-supported schools in Myanmar will gather for a special welding training. They will leave with new skills and tables, benches, chairs, and playground equipment for their classrooms. You can help with any or all of the $7,408 needed for this project. Your support will show poor boys and girls in these schools that “every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17). $100 for a grinder
$500 for a welder
$188 for hand tools
$539 for a generator
$216 for an iron cutter
$660 for wood 7
$1,005 for training and travel $4,200 for iron

GIFT #8 – MOTORBIKES FOR MISSIONARIES
EVANGELISM GIFT #7 – TAKE THE GOOD NEWS TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH The challenge seemed impossible. How could a lone Seventh-day Adventist plant a church in a village of staunch Baptists and Buddhists? A lifelong Baptist from the Myanmar side of the Malay Peninsula, Paul Cin* discovered the three angels’ messages while living in Thailand. Eager to share this precious new light with his people, the young man eventually returned to his village as an ASAP church planter. But when he began visiting and studying the Bible with the villagers, alarmed local leaders threatened him. Undeterred, Paul organized evangelistic “cottage meetings.” After studying what the Bible teaches about the Sabbath, healthful living, and other topics, several villagers requested baptism, including the spy sent by Baptist church leaders to observe the meetings! Four years later, 60-70 worshipers now crowd into Paul’s humble bamboo home each Sabbath. Though overjoyed, Paul cannot rest. “There is already a company of believers here. Someone can take over for me,” he says. “I want to go to another place where there is no Adventist presence.”
What is one of the most-needed missionary tools in Southeast Asia? You guessed it! Motorbikes. These two wheels bring Bible studies to unreached villages, transport grandmas to church, and rush pregnant mothers to clinics over the mountains. Angels attend their riders. One missionary couple traveling on a narrow, rain-soaked road in a closed country felt their motorbike slipping over a precipice to their doom. “Save us Lord!” the wife called out. An invisible force pushed them back on the road. Your gift of a motorbike pushes the work forward, helping missionaries and angels claim new territory for God’s kingdom. $1,000 for one motorbike (many needed)
GIFT #9 – SUPPORT AN ASAP CHURCH PLANTER Savan Sai* serves as an ASAP church planter in a communist country. One day police officers rushed in with a lock and chain to close down his church. This broke Savan’s heart, but not his faith. Day after day, he prayed for God to intervene. He continued sharing the gospel from home to home, and finally, after three years of persistent prayer, God moved on the hearts of the district authorities. The doors of Savan’s church flung open wide! Sponsor an ASAP church planter, and join your prayers with theirs as they labor for the salvation of the lost. $100-$160 per month, depending on location (one-time gifts also appreciated)* *Visit the sponsorship section of our website to meet church planters in need of a sponsor.

GIFT #10 – HELP AN ASAP TENTMAKER MISSIONARY LAUNCH Paul* met Jesus while taking English classes at an Adventist-run literacy center in the closed country where he lives. Following his baptism, he joined the first class of youth evangelists at ASAP’s tentmaker missionary training program in Thailand. And now, this former Buddhist is completing barber training in preparation to launch as a tentmaker missionary to his homeland. Your gifts will help Paul establish his barbershop and begin developing friendships and sharing Christ with his customers.
$65 per month stipend (for 12 months to establish the business) $125 for a barber chair (three needed) $130 per month for shop rent (for six months to establish the business) $780 for barber supplies, mirrors, and ceiling fans
GIFT #11 – GIVE THE DISPLACED A PLACE TO WORSHIP
Three faithful Karen congregations in the war zone on the ThaiMyanmar border have been praying daily for a church building. The building sites are strategically located near ASAP schools and villages that need to hear about Jesus’ soon return. But the church members are internally displaced people who do not have the means to support a building project. Would you or your church consider adopting one of these congregations and building a place of worship to strengthen their outreach to their Buddhist and animist neighbors? $10,000 per church (three needed; any amount appreciated)
GIFT #12 – SHARE BIBLE STORIES WITH CHILDREN IN THEIR HEART LANGUAGE My Bible First lessons tell Scripture’s greatest stories with insights from the Spirit of Prophecy. Children in Khmer- and Vietnamese-speaking churches and schools love them, but to date no lessons are available in Hmong or Lao. If you and your family have been blessed by My Bible First, why not extend the blessing to Lao and Hmong children and their families? Can you picture their smiles as they hear about Jonah getting spit out of the whale’s mouth, Daniel’s deliverance from the lions’ den, and Jesus raising Jairus’ daughter from the dead? Help transform their worldviews by sharing these lessons in their heart language. $1-$2 per lesson, depending on language group (thousands needed)

GIFT #14 – INTRODUCE THAI BUDDHISTS TO THE HEALTH MESSAGE
HUMANITARIAN AID GIFT #13 – GIVE HELP AND HOPE TO FAMILIES IN DISTRESS After Ei Neza’s mother died, her father remarried and abandoned the girl and her younger brother. Their grandmother and aunt took them in, but the two women could not provide for themselves, let alone the children. Then, one morning, the driver of the motorcycle carrying Ei Neza to school lost control and crashed. The accident shattered Ei Neza’s spine, leaving her a paraplegic. COVID-19 hit Ei Neza’s family especially hard. When lockdowns in Cambodia shuttered the factories where her older siblings worked, they could no longer send money to support Ei Neza and her brother. But these misfortunes have not crushed Ei Neza’s spirit. She is a friendly girl who loves reading, art, and playing with dolls. And thanks to the generosity of ASAP donors, ASAP missionaries are providing her family with food and other necessities. Recently, her aunt cried tears of joy as water gushed from the new ASAP-funded well in her front yard. She is no longer forced to travel long distances to fetch water.
ASAP medical missionary Sompong Koonsawang shares the gospel with her Buddhist neighbors in Thailand using the Adventist health message as an entering wedge. She recently moved to a new province and plans to build a small health center where she can introduce the community to organic gardening, herbal remedies, and healthy cooking through classes and hands-on workshops. Help Sompong break ground on this exciting project and sow seeds of truth in the hearts of the unreached. $266 to provide materials for healthy cooking classes $334 for organic gardening supplies $2,334 to construct the community health center
GIFT #15 – PAVE THE WAY FOR THE GOSPEL IN NAKHAI The village of Nakhai is abuzz over the Adventist school under construction nearby. Usually, people in this communist country view Christians with scorn and suspicion. But ASAP missionaries’ holistic, caring approach is disarming these prejudices. Presently, the villagers struggle to harvest their rice and bring it to market because there is no road from the village to their fields. The village chief has asked ASAP for help. By building a road for the people of Nakahi, you can build goodwill toward the gospel and pave the way for its entrance into their hearts. $2,500 to construct a road
When you give to ASAP’s Humanitarian Assistance Fund, you give help for the present and hope for the future to families in distress. $100 suggested gift (any amount appreciated) 12

GIFT #18 – SUPPORT WASH PROJECTS TO KEEP KIDS HEALTHY IN MYANMAR
GIFT #16 – HELP DISPLACED VILLAGERS START A NEW LIFE Thousands of displaced people have flooded the mountain villages of Myanmar’s Chin State. The conflict between the Burmese military and armed ethnic groups may prevent many from ever returning home. But local Adventist leaders have a plan to help them. They are developing a small parcel of land to grow and sell elephant foot yams. Initially, the project will provide income to assist poor church members and the displaced with basic needs. In time, it will also produce enough seed yams to help them start their own small farms - and a new life.
Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects make healthier communities. Healthier communities have healthier kids. And healthier kids are more likely to attend school and learn. That’s why ASAP has planned WASH projects for three schools in Myanmar’s Kayin (Karen) State. Constructing wells, toilets, and clean water systems will reduce disease, death, and misery among the war-weary residents of these impoverished villages, removing a major barrier to their children’s education. $180 to provide an engine and water pump for the Kadah School $576 to construct a clean water system for the War Kyet School
$890 per acre for seed yams (four acres needed)
$1,420 to build toilet facilities for the Kadah School
$1,211 to purchase and install fencing $1,281 for labor to clear and maintain land
$1,980 to dig an artesian well for the Padelgaw School
GIFT #17 – ADOPT A MEDICAL MISSIONARY Access to healthcare is limited for the residents of the small farming communities in Cambodia’s Kampong Thom province. ASAP medical missionary Beung Korn visits the farmers and their families, treating their ailments and praying with those who are open to it. These interactions open doors to conversations about spiritual things and, sometimes, even to Bible studies.
“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given” (Prov. 19:17, NKJV).
The prayers and love gifts of ASAP sponsors encourage medical missionaries like Beung Korn, as they introduce broken people to the Great Physician! $45 per month to sponsor a part-time medical missionary in Cambodia* $120 per month to sponsor a full-time medical missionary in Myanmar* *Visit the sponsorship section of our website to meet medical missionaries in need of a sponsor. One-time gifts are also appreciated. 14

Caleb and his wife prayed at the pregnant young woman’s bedside until morning. When she finally regained consciousness, they took her to the hospital, where she delivered a healthy baby boy. Today, things have changed in Caleb’s village. The young woman, Aelan,* now attends worship each Sabbath. Her parents asked for a Bible. And with her father’s help, Caleb secured a permit from the communist authorities to build the first Adventist church in the southern region of this closed country! Help courageous ASAP missionaries like Caleb break down barriers to the gospel with your gift to the GWIDOP (God’s Work in Dangerous, Oppressive Places) Fund. $100 suggested gift (any amount appreciated)
REFUGEES & PERSECUTED PEOPLE GIFT #19 – BREAK DOWN BARRIERS TO THE GOSPEL IN CLOSED COUNTRIES Bang! Bang! Bang! Frantic knocking startled ASAP church planter Caleb Hongdo* awake. Who could it be? Have the village leaders come to harass me again? Caleb’s mind raced as he answered the door. There stood the wife of the village chief’s right hand man.
GIFT #20 – INTRODUCE KURDISH REFUGEES TO JESUS When Aska’s* children began attending the Adventist Learning Center (ALC) in Beirut, Lebanon, she became interested in the Bible stories they were learning and requested Bible studies. Her husband, Renas,* soon joined the studies, and together this Kurdish refugee couple determined to follow Jesus and tell others about Him. For five years, they have enthusiastically shared Christ with other Kurdish families, most of whom are Muslim. Today, members of more than 300 Kurdish families attend their weekly Bible studies. But the need for personal ministry and follow-up is great. Help hire Aska as a Bible worker to advance the gospel work among this persecuted, unreached people group. $150 per month for transportation $705 per month Bible worker stipend $4,200 for one year’s worth of ministry tools and sharing resources
“Please help me! My daughter is sick!” Hurrying through the darkened streets, Caleb and his wife arrived at the woman’s house. “Please come in and pray for my daughter,” urged her husband. “The medicine men could not help.” 16

GIFT #26 – ENCIRCLE THE WORLD WITH UNITED PRAYER
NORTH AMERICAN PROJECTS GIFT #25 – SUPPORT KAREN LAY PASTORS IN THE U.S. Ywa Hay Thar fell to his knees in desperation. “How can I reach the youth, Lord?” He knew many Karen youth in Rockford, Illinois, but they weren’t attending church. Then, he had an idea. “Would you like to come play sports on Sunday?” he called and asked them one by one. The first Sunday a few youth joined Ywa Hay Thar and his own boys. “Before we play, let’s see what the Bible says about friends,” he said. Sitting in a circle on the gym floor, they read, discussed, and prayed. Then, they grabbed the basketball and ran up and down the court, laughing, sweating, and bonding. The next week, more youth came. The next week, still more. Soon, the gym was full of youth, and so were the church and AY meetings on Sabbaths.
