Designer of the Year 2011 on Life and Design

D e s i g n e r o f t h e Ye a r Silpakorn University has a policy to promote arts and culture.

To encourage Thai designers, the university’s Arts and Culture Division initiated the “Designer of the Year” Project. The first award presentation was organized in 2004. The Faculty of Decorative Arts took over the event in 2005 and continued organizing it for five consecutive years. Concrete outputs from the event are upgraded design career standards and enhanced designers’ reputations at the national level. While organizing this yearly event, the university obtains excellent cooperation from educational institutes, public and private organizations, the media and individuals in the design circle.

Major public entity supporters include the Office of Product Value Development, the Department of Export Promotion (DEP). During project implementation every year, exchange of knowledge and experience among academics, artists, designers and the media in-country and overseas is always observable. This helps to upgrade selection and shortlisting, resulting in higher standards among Thai designers who demonstrate excellence and outstanding achievements.

นวัตกรรมด้านการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานออกแบบของไทยไม่เคยหยุดนิ่งราวกับสายน้ำ ในลำธาร เปรียบได้กับการแสดงผลงานนักออกแบบยอดเยี่ยมแห่งปีซึ่งแฝงไว้ด้วยฝีไม้ลายมือ ทักษะของนักออกแบบ ผูผ้ ลิตผลงานแต่ละชิน้ ด้วยความประณีต อีกทัง้ ยังเป็นการเพิ่มพูนสั่งสม ต่อยอดศักยภาพในการแสดงความสามารถของการบูรณาการแต่ละองค์ความรู้ให้ก้าวหน้า อย่างต่อเนื่องไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการตัดสินผลงานนักออกแบบยอดเยี่ยมแห่งปี ในปีที่ 6 นี้ นับเป็นการสร้างสรรค์ศาสตร์และศิลปะระหว่างทักษะ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และเทคโนโลยีที่เชื่อมโยงกันอย่างที่ยากจะเกิดขึ้นได้ โดยนักออกแบบได้ตั้งใจที่สร้างสรรค์ ผลงานจากจินตนาการที่ได้วิเคราะห์คัดสรรมาเป็นอย่างดี เป็นสิ่งที่ยากต่อคณะกรรมการ ตัดสินสำหรับรางวัลอันทรงคุณค่า

หนังสือเล่มนี้เป็นการนำเสนอความเป็นมาของนักออกแบบ ผู้แสวงหาความเป็น ตัวตนของตนเอง ความก้าวหน้าและพัฒนางานอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง อันนำมาซึ่งกระบวนทัศน์ ในการคิดค้น วิเคราะห์ระบบความคิดใหม่ กอรปกับวิสัยทัศน์ในการรวบรวมประสบการณ์ที่ สั่งสม บ่มเพาะ ปลูกฝังมาเป็นระยะเวลายาวนาน ซึ่งแต่ละครั้งของการแสดงผลงานที่ผ่านมา ได้รบั ความสนใจและประสบความสำเร็จก้าวหน้ามาโดยตลอดเป็นอย่างดี และนับเป็นผลงาน สุ ด ยอดแต่ ล ะชิ้ น ที่ ไ ด้ รั บ การวิ จ ารณ์ แ สดงความคิ ด เห็ น จากคณะกรรมการทุ ก ท่ า น อันเป็นผลงานที่แฝงไว้ด้วยเจตนารมณ์ที่จะสร้างสรรค์พัฒนาการใหม่ ในวงการออกแบบ ที่ต้องอาศัยสมาธิ และปัญญาอันเฉลียวฉลาดในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน

นอกจากนั้นในหนังสือเล่มนี้ ยังได้มีการรวบรวมทัศนคติ และข้อคิดต่าง ๆ จาก คณะกรรมการผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และเป็นที่ยอมรับในวงการมายาวนาน จึงเสมือนกับเป็นการ ถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ทั้งหลายในการจัดพิมพ์เผยแพร่ภูมิปัญญาให้เกิดประโยชน์และอย่าง กว้างขวางต่อไป ในนามของคณะมัณฑนศิลป์อันเป็นสถานศึกษา ค้นคว้าแหล่งวิชาการเรียนรู้ ทางด้านศิลปะและการออกแบบ ต้องขอขอบคุณกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิทุกท่านที่ให้เกียรติ มาเป็นกรรมการตัดสินผลงาน และรู้สึกชื่นชมในตัวนักออกแบบทุกท่านที่แสวงหาองค์ความรู้ ใหม่ในด้านวิชาชีพมานำเสนอแก่ประชาชนผู้สนใจ พร้อมทั้งสร้างชื่อเสียงให้แก่ประเทศให้ เป็นที่รู้จักและยอมรับในวงการออกแบบมาโดยตลอด รองศาสตราจารย์เอกชาติ จันอุไรรัตน์ คณบดี คณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ประธานโครงการเส้นทางสู่ระดับสากลของนักออกแบบปี 2011 30 กันยายน 2554

The creative innovation of Thai product design has endlessly moved as though the current in the stream. In a meanwhile, it was comparable to the presentation of the best designer of the year under the proficiency and high skill of designers, enhancing accumulation and potentiality to show their talents involving the continuous integration in various sciences of knowledge. Especially, the 6th judgment of best designer of the year is the creation in several sciences and art under the harmonization of the skill and creative idea and technologies by the designers who intentionally created many works from their imaginations. By this reason, it is difficult to the judging committee to consider and select the valuable award.

This book is to present the background of designers who quested their own identity and continually progressed their creations to have the paradigms of thought, analysis and new vision through their direct experiences. Each past exhibition was success and be interested by the public. The criticism and comment from the judging committee assumed that all awarded works as the top of creative works can reflect to the strong intention of creative development in the field of design under their concentration and ingenious wisdom.

Furthermore, all of attitudes and viewpoints from the professional judging committee who are widely concerned in the field of design have been presented in this book as though the sciences of knowledge were transmitted to capaciously distribute the intelligence to the public. On behalf of the Faculty of Decorative Arts as an institute and Learning Center of Art and Design would like to give sincere thankfulness to all judging committee and also give an appreciation to all designers who intentionally followed various modern sciences of knowledge and then presented to the public through their designed works towards the worldwide acceptance in the field of design and reputation of Thailand.

การสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการในการสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มให้แก่สินค้าของตนเอง ถือเป็น นโยบายสำคัญของกรมส่งเสริมการส่งออก มาอย่างต่อเนื่อง และจะยิ่งมีความสำคัญมากขึ้น แม้ว่าภาวะเศรษฐกิจโลกจะมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว การออกแบบและความคิด สร้างสรรค์นั้นยังคงช่วยให้ผู้ประกอบการสามารถเพิ่มมูลค่าการขายได้ ก่อให้เกิดการพัฒนา เศรษฐกิจไทยอย่างยั่งยืน การสนับสนุนบุคลากรในวงการออกแบบจึงเป็นหน้าที่ ที่สำนัก ส่งเสริมมูลค่าเพิ่มเพื่อการส่งออกให้ความสำคัญมาโดยตลอด อย่างไรก็ตามความเจริญ ก้าวหน้าของวงการออกแบบไทยคงไม่ได้เกิดจากหน่วยงานใดหน่วยงานหนึ่งเท่านั้น หากแต่ มาจากความร่วมมือจากหลายหน่วยงานร่วมกันสนับสนุน

การที่คณะมัณฑนศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ได้ดำเนินโครงการนักออกแบบแห่ง ปีมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ถือเป็นสิ่งที่น่ายกย่องชื่นชม เพราะมีส่วนช่วยให้เยาวชนรวมทั้งประชาชน ทั่วไปเห็นความสำคัญของวิชาชีพด้านการออกแบบ ซึ่งสำนักส่งเสริมมูลค่าเพิ่มเพื่อการ ส่งออก ในฐานะหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ยินดีให้การสนับสนุนโครงการนี้ ด้วยเห็นความสำคัญของ วิชาชีพการออกแบบซึ่งมีส่วนช่วยพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจไทยในอนาคต

The Department of Export Promotion has main policy to continuously encourage the manufacturers towards the success of making an added value to their products. Although the world economic status has rapid changeability but the designs and creative ideals also support the manufacturers to accumulate the value of commerce and additionally result to the sustainability of Thai economical development. As a meanwhile, the thoroughgoing encouragement to all participants in the field of designs is a significant role under the Office of Product Value Development. However, the progression in the field of Thai designs possibly occurred under the collaboration and support of many organizations.

This is the sincere appreciation to Faculty of Decorative Arts for continually organizing the project of Designer of the year that is an essential part of promoting the field of designs to be concerned by the public. The Office of Product Value Development as the governmental enterprise is pleasure to encourage this project due to the significance of designing profession has an influence to Thai economical development in the future.

Congratulation to the great success of Silpakorn University under the establishments for the project of Designer of the Year through 6 years. As a result, this project is a part of encouragement for the designers to innovate and develop their product designs through several initiative ideals. Additionally, it has an influence to promote the works of Thai designers in worldwide. I would like to express my appreciation for the honor to be invited to such an important event of evaluation. In these days, there are many unstable elements happening in the world and the design community is facing a turning point in the changing environment. The works and expressions created in the 20th century could be interpreted as a milestone chapter of the history of design.

Owing to the contribution of great artists in this period, a wide variety of design styles has been produced.

What are we going to see next in the 21st century? Such key words as “Sustainable”, “Ecology” and “Universal” indicate social responsibility of design works and now “Designing as Thinking” is a message we receive from the works today. Design works which can help the development of the society or the new industry segment will be one of the role models as a new style of design.

Science and technology will keep making a progress. A relation between people and nature will continuously draw attention. The earth is an irreplaceable nature which provides us a place to live in and to create design works therein.

Those design works will carry on expressing the significance of co-existence and preservation of the nature.

Another direction of design works will focus more on our mind and will lead “emotional” or “story-telling” styles. Design elements for functionality are no longer limited but include the insight for our mind and spirit.

Design works will address our relation with science, with the nature and those works will also look deep inside our mind. In order to create design works, designers are challenging a variety of these factors. Bearing that in mind, I can clearly state that value of design works will keep growing in the society.

Great Earthquake and Tsunami hit Japan. An unexpected natural disaster overwhelmed the protection invented by science and technology. But the nature has a different effect. Here in your country, Thailand, the natural environment and economy are flourishing. We have different experience, history and culture.

I believe that respect for the difference and collaboration will help us to move ahead together and to bring a new hope in the art and design.

Types of Award Honor Awards The Honor Awards is presented to honorary Thai designers with accumulated experience of over 20 years and successful achievements in their careers, being role models and contributors to the design circle and society. Awards are offered in four categories.

Designer of the Year Awards The Designer of the Year Awards is presented to Thai designers with accumulated experience of over five years and regular design achievements with artistic and commercial values.

Emerging Awards The Emerging Awards is presented to new Thai designers aged over 20 years who have produced outstanding masterpieces, be they designed for commercial purposes or uniquely pre-commercial originals. Awards are offered in four categories.

อยากให้พูดถึงปัจจุบันของ Planet ความต่างกับสมัยที่เริ่มต้น

มันจะต่างหรือเปล่าก็ไม่รู้ แต่ว่าอันหนึ่งมันก็คือ ตัวงานมัน ซอฟท์ขึ้น เพื่อให้มันอยู่รอดมั้ง มีเบาะมีอะไรเราก็พยายามใส่มัน เข้าไป แต่ในขณะเดียวกัน เราก็พยายามทำอะไรที่มันเป็นอิสระ เป็นอิสระหมายถึงว่า เงื่อนไขในเชิงการขายก็อาจจะถูกลืมๆ ไปอีก เหมือนเดิม หรือในเชิงการตลาดก็จะลืมๆ ไป แต่ก็พยายามที่จะมา พัฒนาให้โปรดักท์มันเอื้อกับองค์กรเพื่อให้มันอยู่ได้ เรื่องความต่าง ของตั้งแต่ยุคแรกมาในยุคนี้นะ มันคงต่าง เพราะว่าตอนนี้ Planet ทำตัวเล็กลง สาเหตุก็คืออาจจะเรื่องเศรษฐกิจ กับเรื่องรูปแบบของ งานที่มันเกิดขึ้นว่า ช่วงหนึ่งนี่เราทำออกมาแล้วมันฮือฮา หรือจะ เรียกว่าอะไรไม่รู้ เรียกว่าคนตอบรับดี เราก็เพลินทำไปกับมัน ในขณะที่พอมานึกอีกทีว่า งานเรามันไม่ใช่งานตลาดแท้ๆ มันเป็น งานเฉพาะว่ามันจะไปโดนกับสไตล์ใหน ไปโดนกับบ้านใคร ไปเข้า รีสอร์ทไหนได้บ้างอะไรอย่างนี้

มานั่งนึกไปนึกมากับความอิสระที่จะทำงาน ถ้าเราทำตลาด ใหญ่ขึ้น ความอิสระส่วนตัวคิดว่ามันจะน้อยลง ก็เลยลดขนาดของ ธุรกิจลงมา แต่ก็ยังพยายามที่จะตอบรับงานออเดอร์ที่ลูกค้ายังสั่ง ย้อนหลังกลับมา ในขณะเดียวกันของใหม่เนี่ย กลายเป็นว่า ดูเหมือน จะทำยากขึ้น ยากขึ้นเพราะว่าตัวเองพยายามที่จะหนีมาเรื่องเกี่ยวกับ วัสดุอื่นๆ ซึ่งมันก็เป็นเรื่องยากกับทีมงาน แล้วก็กับซัพพลายเออร์ ด้วยว่าดีไซน์เราป็นอย่างนี้ พอเราจะไปทำโมลด์หรือเราจะไปทำงาน ที่เป็นแฮนดิคราฟท์ โดยเป็นไม้หรือเป็นโลหะขึ้นมาใหม่ มันก็กลับไป ประเด็นเดิมตอนปีแรกๆ ที่พยายามทำแล้วไม่สำเร็จ เพราะว่าบ้าน

Speaking to the Present of PLANET Differentiation from the Beginning

Is it different? Nevertheless, the work is softer to survive. In a meanwhile, we try to do whatever is independent.

The independence refers to the commercial condition may be forgotten but try to develop the product contributing to the organization for an existence. The differentiation from the past to present era happened because of smaller planet and economics involving the changeability of concerning in various patterns of works. However, our work is not the mass product but it can be compatible with some styles.

We regarded to the freedom in working. If we built up the big market, the freedom will reduce. Therefore, we decreased the size of business and try to work as the past order of clients. At the same time, the new product is hardly manufactured because of teamwork, materials and suppliers. It is too difficult to mold or work in style of handicrafts with wood or iron. We try to work in these styles

เรายังไม่มีใครอยากทำงานยากๆ คือถ้าทำแล้วมันต้องมีการเตรียม งาน มีการพูดคุยกัน มีการกล่อมกันนานมาก จนพอจะลงมือทำเข้า จริง มันกลายเป็นเรื่องไม่เอาดีกว่า ยากเกินไป หรือทำออกมาแล้ว ไม่ใช่ ไม่สำเร็จขึ้นมาก็มี มันก็เลยยังตอบโจทย์หรือประเด็นตรงที่ว่า เมื่อไรที่ซัพพลายเออร์หรือช่างไทยที่จะมาจับมือกัน ทดลองทำกันมา แล้วก็วนกลับมาเรื่องของการจัดการโปรดักท์หน้าตาใหม่ๆ กับเรื่อง ของไฟแนนซ์ ซึ่งทุกอย่างยังผูกติดกันอยู่ตลอดเวลา นึกออกใช่ไหม เรื่องสร้างคนที่จะมาตอบโจทย์เรื่องเทคนิคการทำงานใหม่ๆ ขึ้นมา มันคงไปเอื้อมไปถึงตรงนั้นยาก เพราะว่าเราไม่ถึงขั้นเป็นโรงเรียน ช่างที่จะมาสอนคุณ ช่างในบ้านเราเนี่ยมันมีทักษะ ช่างไม้ ช่างเชื่อม อะไรเนี่ย แต่ทุกคนมองว่าอะไรที่มันง่าย จบเร็ว รับเงินค่าจ้างมันก็ โอเค อะไรที่มันยาก มันก็เอาไว้ก่อนก็แล้วกัน ที่มันจะรอดได้คือ หนีไปทำงานแม่พิมพ์หรืองานโมลด์ ซึ่งง่ายที่สุด ที่หลายๆ คนใช้ก็คือ เป็นไฟเบอร์กลาส ส่วนตัวพยายามที่จะเลี่ยงมาตลอด ก็บางทีก็หนี ไม่ออกเหมือนกัน ว่าต้องกระโดดลงไปแหย่ซะหน่อย แต่พอเราให้ ประเด็นที่มันต่างจากคนอื่นขึ้นมาปุ๊บ มันก็จะกลายเป็นเรื่องยากขึ้น มาอีก แทบจะไม่อยากทำ 18

but cannot be success during our first year. Although we planned, discussed but finally cancelled to produce them since we cannot analyze when supplier or Thai craftsman will have collaboration. Increasingly, the problems of management, finance and new techniques are the barrier of production. Especially, we are unable to manage as same as the institute where gives knowledge and skill of carpenter and welder. Everyone is attractive to rapidly work and earn the wage, not interested in the difficult work. It is easier to work through molding and fiberglass but we avoided to use them. Although we sometimes try to use them but we created in different concept, as a result, it became to more difficult works.

ถึงจะทำจากแม่พิมพ์ แต่จะเรียกว่าคราฟท์มันก็คงได้นะ ถ้าเจตนาว่าเราจะผลิตในจำนวนประมาณหนึ่ง หรือว่าหน้าตาของ โปรดักท์ออกมาเป็นอะไรที่หล่อมาได้เรื่อยๆ และหน้าตางานมันออก มาเป็นรูปแบบเฉพาะอย่างหนึ่ง มันก็สามารถอยู่ในตลาดเฉพาะของ มัน ตอนหลังก็มาได้ข้อสรุปว่า คราฟท์มันก็คือคราฟท์นะ เมื่อไรที่ เราบอกว่าคราฟท์แล้วเราจะไปเป็นเหมือนผู้ผลิตรายใหญ่ ไปตั้งเป้า เป็นธุรกิจชัดเจนเนี่ย ส่วนตัวเองคิดว่ามันยาก ความสามารถของ ตัวเองคงไม่รู้จะไปรวบหัวรวบหางให้มันเป็นอย่างนั้นได้อย่างไร เคยมีหลายคนที่มาพูดคุยกันบอกว่า คุณต้องเปลี่ยนงานให้เป็นคอม เมอร์เชียลมากขึ้นสิ อยากจะบอกว่า ถ้าเราเปลี่ยนนะ เราก็ทำตั้งแต่ วันแรกไปแล้ว แต่นี่วันแรกเราเลือกที่จะทำประมาณนี้แล้วเนี่ย ถ้าวัน นี้เราเปลี่ยนไปทำเป็นคอมเมอร์เชียลมันก็อย่างไรอยู่

The handicraft is the strength and work from the mold can present in the form of handicraft

Although we worked from the mold or craft and produced in an estimate number, the products was continually molded and showed in a particular pattern to be concerned in the market. The final conclusion showed that the craft is craft, we cannot compare with the bigger manufacturers who obviously planned for the target of business. Many people ever suggested us that we needed to change to have more commercial production but we still insisted to work in these styles.

ใช่ คืองานที่เราดีไซน์จะพูดถึงเรื่องฟอร์มใช่ไหม พอเรื่อง ฟอร์มแล้ว ถามว่าเราติดในเรื่องของวัสดุ หรือเทคนิคการขึ้นรูปทรง จนได้ผิวสัมผัสใหม่ๆ จริงๆ ไม่ได้ติด เราอยากจะเห็นฟอร์มงานของ เราเป็นวัสดุ เป็นเรื่องอื่นๆ เป็นโลหะ เป็นไม้หรือเป็นอะไรขึ้นมา ในฟอร์มฟอร์มนี้หลายๆ รูปแบบ เพราะว่าจริงๆ ไอเดียคืออยากทำ งานอิสระ ไม่ได้อยากเป็นผู้ผลิต ตอบอย่างนี้เลยนะเอาแบบชัดๆ เลย หละ แต่ว่าวันหนึ่งเราหาผู้ผลิตไม่ได้ มันคงเหมือนดีไซน์เนอร์หลายๆ คนที่ดีไซน์ขึ้นมาแล้วจะผลิตที่ใหน ลงทุนอย่างไร ใครจะขายให้เรา ไม่มีใครมั่นใจ สุดท้ายเราก็ต้องมาทำเองทั้งหมด ซึ่งทำได้ประมาณ หนึ่ง แต่เราก็ยังบอกว่า เราก็อยากจะเห็นว่างานเราวันนี้เป็นงาน สานเส้นหวายนะตัวนี้ เราอยากจะเห็นตัวนี้เป็นไม้เนี๊ยบๆ ขึ้นมา ทำ อย่างไร มันหาคนทำยาก แนวคิดแบบ Planet ได้ถูกสื่อสารออกไปสู่นักออกแบบรุ่นใหม่ๆ อย่างไร ยกกรณีนักศึกษาที่มาฝึกงานที่นี่ทุกๆ ปี

ในเรื่องฝึกงาน ส่วนมากจะมานั่งคุยว่า คุณคิดอยากจะทำ อะไร แล้วคุณคิดอะไรอยู่ แล้วสมมุติว่านักศึกษาคิดว่าอยากทำเก้าอี้ สักตัวหนึ่ง ก็ให้เขานำเสนอเลยว่า เป็นเหมือนพูดคุยว่า คิดอย่างไร แล้วมีแรงบันดาลใจ เรื่องอะไร พอคิดมาแล้วฟอร์มเป็นอย่างไร ครีเอทีพมันเป็นอย่างไร สเกลเป็นอย่างไร ใช้ได้ประมาณไหน หรือ ไม่อยากให้ใช้ได้มาก นึกออกไหม อยากให้ฟังก์ชั่นแค่หนึ่งในสาม ที่เหลือเป็นฟอร์มงามๆ เป็นอะไรที่เป็นเหมือนของตกแต่ง หรือเป็น อะไรที่เป็นออพเจคท์ขึ้นมา เราให้อิสระหมด เพราะว่าจุดประสงค์ก็ คือว่า อยากจะให้คนหัดคิดและกล้าทำ คือมันเหมือนคำถามที่ถามมา หลายๆ คนถามผมตลอดว่า ดีไซน์เนอร์บ้านเราเก่งกว่าฝรั่งไหม เก่ง กว่าประเทศโน้นไหม ประเทศนี้ไหม ผมตอบตลอดว่าเรามีหัวเท่ากัน นะ เพียงแต่วา่ จุดทีจ่ ะมารองรับความคิด หรือทำอย่างไรให้ดีไซน์เนอร์ กล้าทำในสิ่งนั้นขึ้นมาได้เนี่ย มีตัวแปรอะไร ไม่อย่างนั้นเนี่ย คิดให้ดี อย่างไรแล้วทำขึ้นมาไม่ได้ มันก็คือไม่มีอะไร มันก็มีแต่ความคิด

The work of planet can exist under the constraints of the manufacturer

Our designs showed to the forms, materials, forming techniques and surface, actually, we preferred to create with wood or metal in various styles under through the freedom of working, not the manufacturer. Subsequently, if we cannot find the suppliers to manufacture our handicraft products, how to invest and distribute the products, by this reason, we finally produced by ourselves in handicraft works from the rattans.

Planet concept is communicated to the new generations of designers

I mostly discussed with the students about their idea and inspiration to practice and gave a chance to present their concepts to approach how is the creative, scale, function and what is the form and object. i intended to give freedom to think and do to have direct experience while they are practicing. It is the question that “Are Thai designers better fluent in creation than the foreigners”, I analyze that both have equal creative idea. However, when the designers created their works, how they dared to do and what factors related with the production.

Most of students created as their concepts

Firstly, it is without fixing the material to design, the students have to understand the form, function, scale and techniques before designing. Normally, we prepared the materials; rattans as our concepts and produced by ourselves since it is very difficult to find the skilled carpenter to produce. I realized that the design is the hard work that needed to be supported from several factors.

นั่งเทคออร์เดอร์กันซักสองตู้ ตู้หนึ่งอะไรอย่างนี้ ที่มันจะกลายเป็น ประเด็นแบบว่าพอรับออเดอร์มาแล้ว ทำได้หรือเปล่า มันทำไม่ได้ แล้วทำออกไปอย่างนั้นเนี่ยมันพัฒนาฝีไม้ลายมือไหม มันไม่ มัน กลายเป็นรีบๆ ทำให้จบๆ ไป นักออกแบบไทยกับปัจจัยสำคัญสู่การขับเคลื่อน

บ้านเรานี่ด้านการศึกษาสร้างดีไซน์เนอร์ขึ้นมา ปีหนึ่งเคย คิดประมาณว่าในยุคเรา ในยุคผมจะมีเด็กที่จบศิลปะกี่คน มีกี่สถาบัน มีที่จบโปรดักท์ หรืออินทีเรียกี่คน มีไม่กี่คน แต่ตอนนี้ทุกมหา’ลัย มีหมด ไม่ได้กังวลเรื่องว่าล้นหลาม แต่ก็กำลังดูว่า ปีหนึ่งจบมา ประมาณสักหลายพันคนมั้ง ส่วนหนึ่งเราก็โอเคว่า เขาอาจจะไปทำ อย่างอื่นหรือไม่ได้ทำอยู่ในวงการนี้ แต่อย่างน้อยก็ถูกสอนให้มีมุม มองที่ดี ในการที่จะเลือกใช้ชีวิตหรือเลือกมองว่าอะไรที่มีการพัฒนา หรือไม่พัฒนา ถ้าเลือกว่าถ้ามองเรื่องของโมเดิร์น เรื่องของดีไซน์ ใหม่ๆ ตลอดเวลา มันพูดไปบนเรื่องบริโภคนิยมมากเกินไปนะ เอา เป็นว่ามีมุมมองในการพัฒนาที่ดี อีกส่วนหนึ่งไม่ มากระโดดขลุก ขลิกอยู่ในวงการดีไซน์โปรดักท์นี่ หรือดีไซน์เฟอร์นิเจอร์เนี่ย ปัญหา

ที่ยังย้อนกลับมาตรงที่มีใครรองรับเขาได้มากน้อยแค่ใหน บริษัทที่ เป็นผู้ผลิตบางทีก็จะไปจ้างประจำทำไม จ้างเป็นจ๊อบละกัน อย่างนี้ ชีวิตมันก็ไม่แน่นอน ด้วยบางคนสปิริทสูงมากอยากทำ ก็ต่อสู้ขึ้นมา หาเงินหาทองมาทำกันเอง ทำกันแล้วแรงผลักไม่เกิด ไม่มีแรง สนับสนุน แบงค์หรือไฟแนนซ์ ก็ยังใช้เงื่อนไขเดิม ว่าตุณต้องมีหลัก ทรัพย์นะ คุณต้องเอาสินค้ามาดูความเป็นไปได้ในการตลาดดีไหม เพื่อที่จะตอบโจทย์ว่าชำระหนี้ได้ไหม อะไรอย่างเนี่ย ในเรื่องของ ภาครัฐเองก็ดูเหมือนว่าพอถึงปลายทาง หน้าที่ของภาครัฐก็คือ สร้าง ให้คณ ุ เรียนจบนะ สร้างกิจกรรมให้คณ ุ หนึง่ กิจกรรม จัดประกวดอะไร ก็แล้วแต่ มันไม่ได้ตอบคำถามที่ว่าแล้วกลุ่มที่ได้รางวัลทั้งหลายไป ไหน ต่อยอดให้อย่างไร โครงการหรือนโยบายของรัฐบาลที่ว่าให้เงิน ทุนสร้างธุรกิจ ซึ่งผมว่ามันก็ยังไม่พอ สมมุติว่าดีไซน์เนอร์จับกลุ่ม กันได้สามคนที่เป็นดีไซน์เนอร์หมด มีเงินลงทุนให้เขา นี่ง่ายๆ เลย ไม่ต้องมีหลักทรัพย์ไม่ต้องมีอะไร สัญญากันระยะยาว สามปีห้าปี คุณมีที่ปรึกษาให้เขาก็ได้มีให้หน่อย เพราะว่าคนที่เรียนดีไซน์มา ไม่ได้เรียนบริหารธุรกิจ ไม่ได้เรียนบริหารอุตสาหกรรมมา ไม่ได้ เรียนมาร์เก็ตติ้งอะไรมา สักวันมันก็จะเหนื่อยแล้วก็จะไม่ไหวแล้ว ก็ ถอยไปทำอย่างอื่น จะประสบความสำเร็จได้ต้องอาศัยปัจจัยหลายอย่าง

มันต้องทำอย่างไรให้มันครบวงจรให้ได้ แต่ว่าไม่ได้กับทุก คน เพียงแต่ว่ากับกลุ่มที่เขารวมกันได้แล้วมีศักยภาพ ซึ่งผมว่าหลายๆ คน ผู้ใหญ่หลายๆ คนเขาก็มองเห็นนะ แล้วเขาก็พยายามที่จะพูดถึง ประเด็นนี้นะ แต่ว่าด้วยระบบหรือด้วยอะไรก็แล้วแต่ มันเหมือนกับ ผมจะเปิดร้านอาหารตรงนี้ คนเดินผ่านเพียบเลย มีคนเชียร์เต็มเลย ทำเถอะๆ มีคนอยากหุ้นด้วยเยอะแยะ มาช่วยกันทำ แต่เมื่อเรามี ความคิดอะไรใหม่ๆ ขึ้นมา เหมือนกับว่าเราจะเปิดร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวนี่ แต่ว่าก๋วยเตี๋ยวเราจะเป็นอีกแบบนะ ดีไซน์ใหม่ขึ้นมาเนี่ย ทุกคนก็จะ มันจะขายดีเหรอ นึกออกไหม เรามองว่าก๋วยเตี๋ยวบ้านเรานี่มันจะมี อยู่ไม่กี่อย่าง แต่ก๋วยเตี๋ยวญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเป็นบะหมี่นี่ มันมีเป็นพันๆ อย่าง เพราะทุกคนพูดถึง เขาเรียกเอกลักษณ์ตัวเองได้ เพราะว่าเขาทำได้ ทั้งๆ ที่บางทีเราไปกิน มันต่างกันหรือเปล่าเราก็ไม่รู้ แต่ว่าวิธีการ พูด เขามีวิธี เขาสามารถเปิดมุมนี้ ร้านเล็ก ๆ มุมนี้ได้ ด้วยอะไร ด้วยความเชื่อขององค์กรที่จะมาช่วยกันซัพพอร์ต มานั่งคุยกันแล้ว มันมีทางมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ใหม่ดี ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ใหม่ก็คือ ช่องทางใหม่ๆ ที่ต้องเกิด ไม่ใช่ช่องทางที่เสี่ยงตาย

to the modernity of designs, we are too adhesion with the consumerism so we might realize to have more development.

The problems of product designs or furniture designs is the lack of any permanent supports from suppliers and finances that must declared the possibility of products and properties to guarantee the status of investment. The governmental organizations have roles to establish or organize several activities such as competitions but cannot summarize what will then happen to the winner of competition or how to develop their abilities. By this reason, It is not enough to have qualified benefits from the investment policy of government to establish the business. If three designers are supported for their investments and no need to guarantee with any properties or anything else in long terms (3-5 years), it is easier to invest for the designing business due to the designers lacked the knowledge in business administration, marketing and industrial management. If they have to invest by themselves, they are too tired to work and finally finished their business.

Chance to success from many factors

If the qualified group of designers collaborated in working, it is possibly to run as the cycle of business. Many people understood and also mentioned about this matter.

However, we cannot summarize the origin of problem. For example, I planned to invest the restaurant in the crowd district with many shareholders, importantly, we designed the new styles of noodles that mostly are not sure to the possibility of new products. Moreover, there are more thousands styles of Japanese noodles that everyone mentioned to their own identities that are without the commercial problems since all kinds of Japanese noodles are success although they were sold in the corners or small shops. Therefore, the trustfulness in organization is an importance to support the business.

However, we discussed to the possibility without the risk of new creation or new chance.

o-d-a ในฐานะนักออกแบบไทยที่ฝากผลงานไว้หลายชิ้นใน ระดับสากล

ปิติ : ตอนนี้เราสองคนทำงานออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ร่วมกัน ภายใต้ชื่อว่า o-d-a โดยมีลูกค้าที่มาว่าจ้างออกแบบตามโจทย์ที่เขา ต้องการ ลูกค้าสำคัญที่ทำอยู่ตอนนี้ชื่อ “KATOJI” เราออกแบบ เฟอร์นิเจอร์เด็กไปจำหน่ายที่ญี่ปุ่น และอีกทางหนึ่งเราก็คิดออกแบบ สินค้าหลายอย่างผลิตออกขายในท้องตลาดภายใต้แบรนด์ของตัวเอง ถ้าพูดถึงงานของตัวเราจากเสียงของคนอื่นที่ได้ยินมา ส่วนใหญ่เขา ก็จะพูดถึงเราในเรื่องของความเป็นงานไม้ คงจะรู้สึกว่าเราใช้มันใน การทำงานเยอะ ก็เลยเดาว่าเรามีความสนใจอะไรพิเศษในเรื่องของ ไม้หรือเปล่าจริงๆ ก็ไม่ได้คิดถึงประเด็นนั้นเป็นหลักเท่าไหร่ เราแค่ รู้สึกว่ามันเป็นวัสดุที่เราเข้าไปจัดการได้ง่าย สะดวกในการคิดไอเดีย หรือขึ้นต้นแบบ ไม้มันอนุญาตให้คิดกระบวนการเรื่องของจอยเนอรี่ (joinery) รายละเอียดพวกนี้มันเป็นประเด็นทางการออกแบบได้ทั้ง หมด... นอกจากนั้นก็จะมีเรื่องของเส้นสาย ที่มีคนบอกว่าคุณตั้งใจ ทำงานให้มันเป็นมินิมอล อยากจะทำให้มันน้อยอะไรแบบนั้น ซึ่งก็ เช่นกันเราไม่อยากแสดงตรงนั้นขึ้นมาเป็นจุดเด่น สิ่งที่เราสนใจคือ อยากพูดถึงเรื่องของที่มาที่ไปของผลงาน ก็คือว่าถ้ามันมีที่มาที่ไปของ เหตุและผลเส้นมันก็จะน้อยไปเอง มันเป็นความชอบของเราน่ะครับ

Talking to o-d-a as a Thai Designer who created many art works in the international level

Piti : We are presently working in our business of product design in the name of o-d-a and designed the models of furniture for the children to sell in Japan as the need of client named “KATOJI”. In a meanwhile, we also planned to design several products to distribute in the market under our brand name of o-d-a. Most of news mentioned to our wooden works with the doubt that “what factors we specially interested to work with woods”. In fact, this issue is not our main point but we only feel that it is easier to create or make the prototype with wood and can design it as the process of joinery. Moreover, it is mentioned as a matter of connections that we intentionally worked in minimal styles.

We have no need to highlight it but we wish to communicate to the origin of works from our passion in order to refute the accused issues .

จุฑามาส : เหมือนที่ปิติบอกไปค่ะ ไม้มันเปิดโอกาสให้เรา ฝึกฝนตั้งแต่ขั้นง่ายได้ด้วยการฝึกฝนใช้เครื่องมือด้วยตัวเอง ไปจนถึง เรื่องของการส่งต่อให้โรงงาน เราก็มองมันเป็นแมททีเรียลอันหนึ่งที่ น่าสนใจที่เข้าไปจัดการได้... ในส่วนของการทำงานที่เราต้องคิดโจทย์ เอง จะเริ่มด้วยการไอเดียหรือประเภทของที่เราสนใจ แล้วเรารู้สึก ว่าเราสนใจในการตีความหมายหรือหาความหมายเกี่ยวกับมัน อาจ จะยังไม่ได้ใช้เรื่องของมาร์เก็ตติ้งเข้ามาเกี่ยวมาก คงจะมีอยู่ไกลๆ แต่เราไม่ได้โฟกัสตรงนั้นเป็นอันดับแรก เพราะเราเชื่อว่าถ้าของมัน ดีจริงในทางการตลาดย่อมมีช่องทางการขายที่เหมาะสมกับตัวมัน ระหว่างการพัฒนางานก็ย่อมมีเรื่องของต้นทุนเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้อง เราก็ คอยดูให้มันออกมาเป็นสินค้าที่จะขายจริงได้ อะไรประมาณนั้นค่ะ

Jutamas : As Piti mentioned, we can practice with wood from the simple works to the creation with various tools and also forwarded to the factory. We considered that it is an interesting material that is easier to manage.We have regularly supposed the issues with our ideas, regarded to the attractive categories, also interested in an interpretation and searched for its reference, not related with the issues of marketing. However, we didn’t focus to this above point since we believed that if the wood was concerned, the channel of marketing will be suitably planned. However, the cost have to relate with the progression of work so we need to promote it to get more income.

กระบวนการทำงานฉบับ o-d-a

ปิติ : ถ้าเป็นงานจากความต้องการของตัวเราเองมันก็ง่าย มากเลยครับ เราเอาความชอบเป็นหลัก ความชอบของเราก็คืออยาก ให้งานมันดี งานดีหมายความว่ามันควรจะมีภาษาที่ดี จุดวัดคือการ มองงานในระดับสากลหรือเรียกว่าในระดับโลกก็ได้ ในเมื่อเราชอบ งานจากนักออกแบบระดับโลก ก็ไปลองดูว่าเขามีความคิดประมาณ ไหน เราอยากให้ผู้คนรู้สึกกับผลงานของเราว่ามีเลเวลใกล้เคียง

จุฑามาส : เราจะมองมันเป็นเหมือนวิธีคิดสากลนี่แหละค่ะ แต่เราก็มีความสนใจเฉพาะตัว ในฐานะที่เราเป็นคนไทยด้วยเหมือน กันนะ เราคุยกันเองถึงจุดเด่นของงานที่มีบางส่วนเกิดจากความสนใจ ในวัฒนธรรม ตัวอย่างเช่น “Slow Series” เป็นสิ่งที่เราสนใจ รู้สึก ว่ามันอยู่ในสังคมของเรามานานแล้ว อยากจะเข้าไปดูและพูดถึงมัน หยิบมันมาตีความแล้วทำเป็นงานดีไซน์ เอาเสนอต่อเวทีของชาวโลก ว่ามันมีตัวตนอยู่แล้วก็มีความน่าสนใจอย่างไร หรือ “Big Bowl Small” ก็เป็นการเข้าไปจัดการกับแมททีเรียลแบบ “very Thai” มาก เราไม่ได้ออกตัวหรอกว่าเราจะทำงานไทยๆ แต่ถ้ามีใครมาถาม หาว่างานเป็นไทยของเราคืออันไหน เราก็คงจะยกตัวอย่าง 2 ชิ้นนี้.. เหตุผลที่ทำเพราะเราสนุกไปกับมันมากกว่า ไม่ได้เอาการตลาด เข้ามาจับเพราะเรารู้สึกว่าถ้าเราเอาเรื่องของการขายนำ มันจะไม่ สามารถเกิดการคิดงานทำนองนี้ได้เลย

ปิติ : สมมติถ้าของมันใช้งานได้ เก้าอี้นั่งได้ ชามใส่ของได้ เราถือว่าโอเค เราขายได้ทุกคนใช้งานได้ก็พอ แต่ว่าเรื่องของวิธีคิด จุดเริ่มต้น หรือคุณค่าอะไรต่างๆ ที่เราอยากจะบันทึกมันไว้ในงาน ที่เราเห็นว่ามันมีคุณค่า มันก็จะอยู่กับเรา เราจะพัฒนาไปด้วยกับการ ทำงานพวกนั้น เรื่องการขายก็ให้มันเป็นไปตามหน้าที่.. ส่วนเรื่อง

The Working Process of o-d-a

Piti : It is very easy if the work was created from our need to have good quality of work, its refers to have good language and the indicator is the viewpoint in the international level or worldwide. If we concerned the works of international designers, we have to study how their ideas are and also compare the level of pleasure to our product from the clients.

Juthamas : We will look it as like an international ideology but we can personally interest as Thai citizen. We talked to the highlights of some works that originated from the cultural attention such as “Slow Series”, it appeared in our society for a long time. When we interpreted it and then designed to present to worldwide that it still existed and how it is attractive. Additionally, “Big Bowl Small” is the way to manage the material in the style of own identity. We have never planned to work in only Thai style but we decided to show the sample of both works if have someone ask us which works can present Thai identity. In fact, we are enjoyable to create them, not regard to the marketing since if we targeted it as the principles of marketing, absolutely, we cannot produce these creative works.

Piti : We are OK if our works; chairs, bowls can use after the clients bought them. On the other hand, the way of thought, inspiration or highlights are mostly recorded in 37

การทำงานร่วมกับลูกคือ เขาจะมีความต้องการมีตลาด มีวิธีการขาย Bome ของอะไรแบบนั้น ซึ่งเขาก็จะบอกเราว่าต้องการอะไร ผมว่ามันก็ง่าย ตรงที่ว่าเราทำงานตามข้อจำกัดเหล่านั้น ยกตัวอย่าง “KATOJI” ข้อแรก เขาต้องการเฟอร์นิเจอร์เด็กที่เป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์จริงๆ ไม่ใช่ ทอย อันนี้เขาบอกเราชัดเจน เรื่องของการประดับประดาตัวการ์ตูน ลงไปในผลงานก็จะถูกตัดทิ้งไปทั้งหมด ข้อสอง เขาต้องการ “ความ ใหม่” เขาบอกเลยว่าเขามาหาเราเพราะอยากให้ทำสิ่งใหม่ๆ ไม่งั้น เขาก็ให้ทีมงานที่ญี่ปุ่นทำได้.. ดังนั้นจงออกแบบเฟอร์นิเจอร์เด็กที่ ใหม่ต่อโลกนี้ นี่คือโจทย์ของเรา เราก็แค่ทำตามนั้น

จุฑามาส : นี่ก็เป็นอีกโจทย์หนึ่งที่ท้าทายมาก เพราะว่ามัน มีลูกค้าที่มาช่วยตรวจสอบอีกทีหนึ่ง ก็ไม่ใช่จะคิดไปทุกงานแล้วจะ ผ่านหมด เราก็ต้องคิดไปในหลายๆ แนวทางเพื่อไปพูดคุยกับเขา ใน ระหว่างการคิดหาแนวทางใหม่ๆ เรามองว่ามันเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ช่วยเปิด อีกมิติหนึ่งให้กับเรา เพราะโปรดักท์ของเด็กเป็นสิ่งที่เราไม่คุ้นเคย เลย ตอนคุยกันครั้งแรกเราออกตัวเลยว่าเราไม่คุ้นเคยกับเฟอร์นิเจอร์ เด็ก แต่เขาก็เชื่อว่าเราน่าจะทำได้ เพราะเคยเห็นผลงานของพวกเรา คือเก้าอี้ “R2” ที่เคยได้รางวัล Designer of the year ปี 2008 เราคิด กันว่าถ้าเขาไว้ใจเราก็น่าลองทำดู งานชิ้นแรกคือเก้าอี้ high chair the valuable works and will everlasting progress them. จุฑามาส : ตอนนี้ล่าสุดมันขยับไปออกแบบภาชนะ ถ้วยชาม อยู่ในขั้นตอนการทำโมลด์ ถือเป็นประสบการณ์ใหม่เพราะเราไม่เคย ทำงานพลาสติกกันเลย อันนี้ก็เปิดโอกาสให้กับเราในการที่จะคิดงาน ในเงื่อนไขของการฉีดพลาสติก ชุดถ้วยชามมีหลายชิ้น เราต้องลำดับ

ความคิดว่าจะเอาอย่างไรกับมัน เพราะปกติเราทำงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ที่ เป็นแนวคิดเรื่องโครงสร้าง แต่ในงานพลาสติกมันสามารถสร้าง ความเป็นไปได้ในรูปทรงได้มากกว่า จุดสำคัญจึงโน้มไปที่เรื่องอิมเมจ และสไตล์ทำให้เราต้องปรับความคิดด้วยเหมือนกัน อีกทั้งงานนี้ ไม่ได้จบที่เราจึงได้เกิดการประสานงานกับช่างเทคนิคมากเป็นพิเศษ

ปิติ : ถือว่าโอกาสในการทำงานกับ KATOJI เจ้าเดียว ทำให้ เราได้ทดลองอะไร หลายๆ อย่างเลย How to get the new experience as the designer for the Japanese company

Piti : When we joined working with KATOJI, we have to be responsible in planning for all process of works; creating the brandname “Bome”, the direction of ideas for furniture designs, categories including logo designs. KATOJI assigned us to manage all of them to follow us. This new brand is a part of KATOJI and all products are presented as o-d-a to show our credit, absolutely, it is OK for us.

Jutamas : KATOJI desired only the safety and image.

Piti : The security is our experience to study the handbook of security standards in Japan that have many details about the height, position of seat, width, spaces and holes as the proposed standardization. Our works are quite exhaustively since all models have to be tested in Japan to

“I mostly analyze in commercial matters due to the procedure and judging criteria specified to the commercial possibilities. o-d-a is the professional in business management, they have high skill in commercial consultation and marketing plan under the world of truth�. As my personal idea, o-d-a has justice in selecting the works, not respected only their own identities in judging process. However, they can show their own identities and be greatly concerned through the product designs.

อะไรที่ทำให้รู้สึกว่า o-d-a เป็นกลุ่มนักออกแบบไทยที่น่าจับตามอง

ปิติ : ความโดดเด่นของพวกเราคือเรื่องการได้รางวัลจาก งานประกวด แล้วทุกคนก็รู้สึกเหมือนมันเป็นโลโก้ของเราว่าได้รางวัล เยอะ แม้ว่าเราจะไม่ได้มีผลงานวางขายอยู่ในท้องตลาดมากมายนัก แต่เราก็ยังป้วนเปี้ยนอยู่ในวงการได้จากเครดิตเรื่องของการรางวัล จากงานประกวดในต่างประเทศอย่างสม่ำเสมอ งานประกวดชิ้นเด่น ที่เราจะพูดถึงเป็นอันดับแรกคือ “Taste of Tea” เก้าอี้ที่ส่งประกวด เก้าอี้อาร์มแชร์ของ “nextmaruni” เป็นชิ้นแรกที่เราได้รางวัล กรังด์ปรีซ์และผลิตขายจริง โจทย์ก็คือว่าให้คุณออกแบบเก้าอี้อาร์ม แชร์ที่เป็นไม้ ผู้ชนะจะถูกเอาไปขายจริงร่วมกับนักออกแบบระดับ โลกอีก 11 คน ซึ่งระดับโลกของมันนี่ระดับโลกจริงๆ ครับ คนเลย รู้สึกว่างานนี้มันใหญ่เป็นแรงจูงใจให้หลายคนส่งงานนี้ ทุกคนรู้สึกว่า คนที่ชนะงานนี้จะดังและมีชื่อเสียง จุดเด่นที่ทำให้เราชนะเพราะเรา พูดถึงการออกแบบอาร์มแชร์ อย่างตรงไปตรงมาที่สุด จะเรียกว่า กำปั้นทุบดินก็ได้ ตอนนั้นคือปี 2005 เราก็ยังเด็กมาก บางครั้งในเรื่อง ของการสรุปประเด็นเพื่อออกแบบอะไรบางอย่างให้มันชัดเจนก็เป็น เรื่องยากสำหรับเรา โดยพยายามสรุปกันว่า ..โอเคเราจะพูดให้สั้น และกระชับที่สุดว่าเราทำเก้าอี้ตัวนี้เพื่ออะไร? ประเด็นสั้นกระชับ ตรงนั้นบังเอิญมันไปเข้าทางกรรมการ Jasper Morrison เขาสามารถ รับภาษาตรงไปตรงมาที่เราสื่อไปได้มันก็เป็นเหตุผลให้เก้าอี้ตัวนี้ ได้ รางวัลครับ นอกเหนือจาก Taste of Tea มีผลงานอะไรอีกที่ ไปได้รางวัลมาจาก ต่างประเทศ

จุฑามาส : ชิ้นต่อมาก็เป็นเก้าอี้อาร์มแชร์เหมือนกันค่ะ ชื่อ “อาร์ทู (R2)” ตัวนี้ได้เข้ารอบไฟนัลลิสงานประกวดชื่อว่า “IFDA (International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa)” จัดขึ้นที่เมือง Asahikawa เกาะ Hokkaido ประเทศญี่ปุ่นจัดขึ้นทุกๆ สามปี แล้ว ก็เป็นงานที่โฟกัสเกี่ยวกับเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้ทุกชนิด ที่ถูกคิดโดยทั้งนัก ออกแบบและคนที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับไม้ เทศกาลนี้จัดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง มาเป็นเวลาประมาณสิบกว่าปีแล้วค่ะ และเราก็เป็นคนไทยกลุ่มแรก ที่เข้าไปมีส่วนร่วม จริงๆ R2 คล้ายกับเป็นภาคต่อของ Taste of Tea คือเรารู้สึกว่าอาร์มแชร์ตัวแรกที่เราทำเนี่ยมันมีน้ำหนักค่อนข้างเยอะ เราก็เลยอยากจะมาปรับปรุงตรงนี้โดยผ่านเรื่องราวของเทคนิคของ การเบนดิ้ง (bending) ไม้ และการตีความเกี่ยวกับรูปลักษณ์ของ อาร์มแชร์อีกเช่นเคย คราวนี้เป็นการพูดถึงเรื่องขององค์ประกอบ ของเก้าอี้อาร์มแชร์สักตัวหนึ่งที่มีเส้นสายที่ชัดเจนแล้วคนก็สามารถ เห็นได้ว่ามันมีส่วนประกอบสำคัญตามจุดต่างๆ อย่างไร เหมือนกับ

The fist prototype has some problems while is testing so it will be improved about the degree. This is a serious sample of KATOJI before presenting the brand “Bome ” in Kind + Jugend Fairs in Germany where we have to join in September 2011

Jutamas : At present, we developed to design the forms of Vessels; cups and bowls. The process of molding is our new experience since we had never created the plastic works. However, we have a chance to create the products through the plastic injection and we have sequence of ideas to manage them. We normally created the structural concept of furniture products but the plastic works can create more forms. The main point stressed to the image and style so we also need to adjust our creative ideal and finally coordinated with the technicians.

Piti : It is a good opportunity to work with KATOJI, it resulted to have several experiments.

What factors promoted o-d-a as well-known group of designers

Piti : Our outstanding is the award from the continuous competition in overseas that resulted to an acceptance in our logo. Although we got several awards but not many products distributed in the market. However, we can present our outstanding works titled “Taste of Tea”, it is the wooden armchair of “nextmaruni”that got Grand Prix award and all 11 winners then produced for the worldwide marketing. This competition is the motivation for the designers to present their product designs to be concerned and famous. The main reason to win this Grand Prix award in 2005 has a result from our frankly discussion since we are very young and it is very hard to us for the conceptual summarization in our designs.

Therefore, we decided to have short and concise reply to the committee, luckily, Jasper Morrison can understand whatever we communicate, finally, we unexpectedly win this award.

ว่าเราอยากลากเส้นผ่านจุดสำคัญของเก้าอี้สักตัว และทำให้มันอยู่ ได้โดยไม่ต้องมีส่วนประกอบอื่นๆ อีก

ปิติ : สามปีต่อมาเราก็ส่งงานประกวด IFDA อีกครั้งด้วย โจทย์เดิมก็คือการคิดเกี่ยวกับไม้ แต่คราวนี้เราส่งชุดเก้าอี้เด็กไปแทน หลังจากที่เรามีประสบการณ์การทำงานออกแบบจาก KATOJI เรา จึงอยากทำงานสำหรับเด็กส่งไปบ้าง พอเขาแจ้งมาว่าผลงานเรา เข้ารอบ เราก็เลยต้องทำโปรโตไทป์ส่งไปตัดสินในรอบสุดท้ายอีกครั้ง ตั้งแต่ครั้งที่แล้วกรรมการคือ Naoto Fukasawa เป็นผู้คัดเลือก งานทั้งหมด เราจึงรู้สึกว่าภาษาดีไซน์ที่เราเสนอไปการพยายามทำ อะไรที่มันเรียบง่ายใช้เส้นที่มันค่อนข้างประหยัดทุกเส้นเป็นเส้นที่ สำคั ญ เราคิ ด ว่ า มั น มี ผ ลที่ ท ำให้ เ ราเข้ า รอบหรื อ ว่ า ชนะเลิ ศ งาน ประกวดในหลายรายการ แล้วตัวงานประกวดชิ้นนี้เราส่งให้ KATOJI ผลิตขายจริงแต่พัฒนาไปเป็นเวอร์ชั่นอะคริลิคแทน ปัจจุบันของ o-d-a และผลงานอื่นๆ ที่เป็นที่รู้จัก

ปิติ : หลังจากที่เราทำงานออกแบบมาระยะหนึ่งจึงรู้ว่า การ ดำรงชีพด้วยการรับค่าจ้างในการออกแบบเพียงอย่างเดียวมันไม่ ง่าย เหมือนเราต้องทำงานหนักในการที่จะมีแบบออกมาจำนวนมาก เพื่อรับค่าจ้าง แล้วเราเป็นคนทำงานช้าอาจจะไม่ค่อยทันกิน จึงคิด ว่ากระบวนการในการผลิตของทั้งหมดสามารถเสร็จสมบูรณ์ได้ ด้วยตัวเราเอง หากเรายอมลงทุนในการผลิตสินค้านั้นๆ เราจึงเริ่ม ผลิตสินค้าตามแนวความคิดของเราออกเพื่อขายให้กับลูกค้าโดย ตรง แทนที่จะทำงานออกแบบให้กับแบรนด์สินค้าเพียงอย่างเดียว โจทย์ก็เริ่มเปลี่ยนไปในการทำงานตรงนี้ การที่เราต้องลงทุนเอง ทำให้เราคิดให้ทุกอย่างพอดีกับขนาดของธุรกิจเราเองด้วย เราต้อง ออกแบบอะไรที่มันผลิตง่าย ค่าใช้จ่ายไม่แพงแต่ต้องดูดี ขนาดต้อง ไม่ใหญ่เกินไปด้วยเงื่อนไขที่ว่าเราต้องขนส่งด้วยตัวเองได้ เรื่องพวก นี้เป็นข้อจำกัดส่วนตัวทั้งหมด

พอทำไปได้สักระยะ ก็เกิดการรวมกลุ่มกับเพื่อนที่มีความ คิดแบบเดียวกัน เพื่อให้มันมีพลังขึ้นมา ในแง่หนึ่งมันก็ช่วยในการ หารค่าใช้จ่ายส่วนกลางร่วมกันได้ เรารวมตัวกันโดยใช้ชื่อว่า “Hat” มีการรวมตัวกันออกบูธโดยเอาผลงานของทุกคนไปรวมกัน จุดร่วม ของการรวมตัวกันคือ เราทุกคนต่างเป็นนักออกแบบที่ทำของขาย กันเอง ดังนั้นแบรนด์ Hat มันมีความชัดเจนอยู่แล้วในการสื่อสารกับ ลูกค้า ว่าถ้าคุณมาซื้อของใน Hat คุณจะได้ของจากนักออกแบบซึ่ง เป็นของแท้ในราคาที่เหมาะสมโดยที่คุณไม่ต้องไปซื้อของก๊อปปี้ เรา ไม่ได้หวังผลการขายในลักษณะการส่งออกเป็นตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ เราอยากขายให้ผู้ใช้จริง คนไทยที่ซื้อของใช้ของตกแต่งบ้าน 42

Besides “Taste of Tea”, What products awarded from overseas

Jutamas : The next product is the armchair called “R2” which was selected to the Finalist of competition in IFDA (International Furniture Design Fair), Asahikawa, Hokkaido, japan which was held in every three years and focused only all wooden furniture under the creation by the designers and wooden craftsman. This festival has continuously organized for more ten Years. We are the first group who participated in this Festival. In fact, “R2” is the 2nd part of “Taste of Tea” by the reason that we intended to improve the volume of weight less than the first armchair by not using the techniques of wooden bending and interpretation for the characteristics of armchair as ever designed but stressed to the composition of armchair as though we stroked through the main point of armchair and it can remain without any compositions.

Piti : We competed our product in the next three years in the festival of IFDA under the concept of wooden armchair for kids. Afterwards we got the direct experience in product designs with KATOJI, we have an inspiration to create the furniture for kids. Luckily, our designed work was selected to the Finalist of IFDA, we have to make the prototype to be considered by the committee. Mr.Naoto Fukasawa is one of judging committee who selected all our works. By this reason, we feel that we presented the simple language of designs resulted to be easily understood by the committee. Importantly, KATOJI can develop to produce the plastic armchair instead of wooden armchairs.

“I decide to use the word “development” for the progressive direction of o-d-a under an obvious focus, they have an continuous opportunity to collect the knowledge. I expect that o-d-a has everlasting development through several methods. However, the processes to upgrade both designers to the world stage, I suggested that they might be maintain their minimums”.

Jury’s Comment The present of o-d-a and other well-known products

Piti : After we designed for a while, we realized to get more quantities of designed works to earn higher wage for our staying alive. Due to we worked slowly so it is more suitable to work under our process of production that can complete by ourselves. By this reason, besides we designed for many brands, we invested and manufactured the designed products as our concept to directly distribute to the clients. We also regarded to the balance of production and size of our business and try to design the simple product in the factor of low cost, good quality, suitable size to be convenience for the transportation. Subsequently, the same idealistic group shared to invest in the name of “Hat” to present all works of our group in the booth. The main point

of our investment is obviously communicate to the clients under the concept of real and qualified product designs.

We don’t expect to get the benefits as though the export marketing in containers but we wish to sell only the products for an interior design

Jutamas : This is our first intention to create the products in all three models; firstly, “Slow Series” presents various styles of seats that is developed to many sizes of benches or stools, all of them referred to the old method to use. Secondly, Sub-Stool is the best seller in various colors that can fold the iron to be the seat, its is used in both indoor and outdoor, additionally, we can overlap it to transport. Thirdly, PAS Stool is the mixture of wood and iron and increased the size to be Bar Stool to have more useful.

จุฑามาส : มันเป็นความตั้งใจของเราตั้งแต่แรก อยากทำ ของที่เราเองก็สนใจด้วย ตอนนี้เรามีสินค้าอยู่ 3 โมเดล คือหนึ่ง “Slow Series” อันนี้เป็นเรื่องของที่นั่งหลายๆ รูปแบบ บางคนก็ มองมันว่าเป็นเก้าอี้ซักผ้า เราเรียกมันว่าเป็นเวอร์ชั่นดั้งเดิม ซึ่งเรา ได้พัฒนาให้เป็นเบนช์บ้าง เป็นสตูลบ้าง คือขนาดต่างๆ เป็นการ อ้างอิงจากการวิธีการใช้งานที่มีอยู่แล้ว อันที่สองคือ “Sub-Stool“ ถือเป็นงานที่ขายดี มันเป็นการเอาเหล็กมาพับเป็นที่นั่ง แล้วตัวมัน เองก็สามารถซ้อนเพื่อการขนส่งได้ สามารถใช้ได้ทั้งอินดอร์และกึ่ง เอาท์ดอร์และมีสีสันให้ลูกค้าเลือกได้หลากหลาย ชิ้นที่สามคือ “PAS Stool” เป็นการจัดการระหว่างไม้กับเหล็ก เราใช้เหล็กแผ่น พับขึ้นรูปโดยใช้ไม้เข้ามาเป็นส่วนประกอบ เราอยากทำสตูลสวยๆ สักตัวทีม่ คี วามหมาย เราได้ขยายสัดส่วนไปเป็นบาร์สตูลด้วย เพือ่ การ ใช้งานที่หลากหลาย ปรัชญาที่แฝงไว้ในการออกแบบ

ปิติ : สำหรับเรา เรามองมันเป็นเรื่องใกล้เคียงกับปรัชญา การใช้ชีวิต เราคิดว่านักออกแบบเป็นอาชีพที่ใช้ฝึกตนเพื่อการพัฒนา ได้ ดังนั้นการทำงานออกแบบก็เหมือนการใช้ชีวิต ถ้าเรามีการฝึกฝน ตัวเองให้มีคุณภาพมันจะส่งผลไปถึงผลงานของเรา เจตนาต่างๆ ที่ เรานึกขึ้นได้หรือว่าเรื่องของปัญญา มันจะถูกใส่ลงไปในผลงานการ ออกแบบ แล้วมันก็จะสามารถโน้มน้าวผู้คน และทำให้สังคมดีขึ้นได้

จุฑามาส : ส่วนหนึ่งเราพยายามทำงานออกแบบให้มีภาษา ในตัวมันเองค่ะ ซึ่งมันจะสื่อสารต่อผู้ใช้ได้ เราเชื่อว่าถ้าเราทำของดี แล้ว ส่งผ่านคุณภาพลงไปในของ ทำให้ของใช้นั้นทนทานและสร้าง ความรู้สึกดีๆ แค่นี้ก็เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดีกับการที่ีคนจะใช้อะไรสักอย่าง

Philosophy in designs

Piti : We compared it as like the philosophy of life.

We have regularly thought that the designer is the practical career to progress. In fact, this career compared as though staying alive. If we practiced ourselves to qualify, it will result to our creative works. Our intention or wisdom can be presented in our product designs and it is very attractive to the public and have more social development.

Jutamas : We try to design under the self-language that can communicate to the clients. We believed that if we created the qualified products, their durability will be attractive for the clients to use them.

The Ultimate Goal in Designs

Piti : We impressed many designers’life and studied their attractive works. We sometimes preferred to develop our way of life towards the happiness in working as same as our adorable designers.

Jutamas : We wish to be enjoyable with our designed works. Through our experience, whenever we cannot create my work, we feel unhappy because we lacked of skill and experience. Therefore, we have to develop our ability and make happiness in every dimension of our life.

ปิติ : เราชอบวิถีชีวิตของนักออกแบบหลายๆ คน เราศึกษา งานของเขา เราว่ามันมีเสน่ห์ บางครั้งเราอยากจะพัฒนาวิถีของเรา ให้กลมกลืนไปกับงานออกแบบ เป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน เราก็จะ ทำงานออกแบบอย่างมีความสุข เหมือนกับนักออกแบบหลายๆ คน ที่เราชื่นชม แค่นี้ก็โอเคแล้ว

จุฑามาส : อยากทำงานออกแบบอย่างมีความสุขค่ะ จาก ประสบการณ์ก็คือเวลาคิดงานไม่ออก เราจะรู้สึกทุกข์ สาเหตุที่เรา มีความทุกข์ก็เพราะเรายังไม่เก่ง เลยรู้สึกว่าดังนั้นเราต้องเก่ง ซึ่ง หมายความรวมถึงมีความสามารถในการพัฒนาตนเองให้มีความสุข ในทุกๆ มิติของชีวิตนั่นเองค่ะ

ผมเป็นนักออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม พื้นฐานผม เดิมทีทางครอบครัว คุณพ่อเป็นพื้นฐานวิศวกร เป็นช่างทำโฟม พลาสติกมาตั้งแต่เด็กเลย ดังนั้นผมจะเห็นอะไรประมาณนี้มาตั้งแต่ เด็ก และผมได้จบด้านศิลปอุตสาหกรรม จากมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยี พระจอมเกล้าฯ เจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง ก็เลยมาทำในสายอาชีพนี้ เริ่มต้นจากการออกแบบก่อน และทำงานค่อนข้างที่จะทำหลากหลาย ก็คือรับออกแบบตามที่สั่ง มีตั้งแต่ แก้วน้ำ นามบัตร ไปจนถึงพวก เครื่องจักร ทีวี เครื่องอุตสาหกรรม ทำทุกอย่าง

พอถึงจุดหนึ่งที่เราคิดว่า ได้เวลาที่สมควรแล้ว เราก็มาทำ สินค้าของเราเอง แบรนด์ Qualy นี้ ก็เกิดมาประมาณช่วงปี 20042005 แถวนั้น ก็คือเราจะเริ่มขายสินค้าเป็นครั้งแรก หลังจากที่เรา รับจ้างมาตลอด ทั้งรับจ้างผลิตสินค้าและก็รับจ้างออกแบบด้วย

Briefly Background

I am an industrial product designer. My father worked as same as the basic of engineer by producing the plastic foam from his childhood. In a meanwhile, I viewed his works with my direct experience in daily life while I was a kid. After I graduated in the field of Industrial Art from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, I firstly worked as a designer to create various works; glasses, name cards, machinery, televisions, other industrial products.

During 2004-2005, I started to design my products in the brand of “Qualy”, and then distributed them, increasingly, also supported for designing and producing the products to the several business.

คือเนื่องจากผมคลุกคลีอยู่ในอุตสาหกรรม แบบเห็นมา ตั้งแต่เด็ก ก็เลยทำให้ผมมีความถนัดในเรื่องเกี่ยวกับทางวิศวกรรม นิดๆ หน่อยๆ อย่างเรื่องของกลไกหรือว่าเรื่องของการผลิตเป็นแบบ แมสโปรดักชั่น เพราะลูกค้าที่เคยมาให้ออกแบบนี่ เกือบทั้งหมดก็คือ ทำสินค้าที่เป็นจำนวนมากๆ เราก็จะรู้เรื่องเทคนิคแล้วก็ รู้เรื่องวิธีการ ทีจ่ ะทำให้มันประหยัดและก็ใช้งานได้ดี ตัวนีจ้ ะเป็นปัจจัยหลักทีล่ ูกค้า ต้องการเลย

My Distinctiveness

I have special skill in the field of industrial due to I associated in the industry from my childhood. I also have special skill in the field of engineer about the mechanism or mass production. As a result, when the clients ordered me to design many mass products, I can understand about the technical terms and methods to save the cost and have more quality. All of them are the main factor that the clients needed.

ทำงานอย่างไร

เริ่มแรกนี่มันก็เกิดจากไอเดียก่อน ส่วนใหญ่ตอนแรกเรา ยังไม่มีฝ่ายวิจัยหรือว่าพวกการตลาดที่คอยหาข้อมูลมาให้ว่าอะไร ขายดียังไง เราก็เริ่มจากไอเดียของดีไซน์เนอร์เองเลยในครั้งแรก เพราะว่าเราก็ไปมองผลิตภัณฑ์ว่า เริ่มต้นเราจะทำอะไรดี นี่พูดถึง แบรนด์ Qualy ก่อนเลยนะ ว่าครั้งแรกสุดเราก็เริ่มที่พวกชุดเหยือก ชุดเสริฟน้ำ เพราะว่าผมคิดว่าทุกบ้านเขามี แล้วก็ไม่ได้ใช้แค่ในบ้าน ใช้ในที่ทำงาน มีโอกาสทางการขายค่อนข้างเยอะ เราก็เลยเริ่มต้น ที่งานตัวนี้ก่อน ในเบื้องต้นในครั้งแรกที่เราออกแบบเราก็ยังไม่ได้รู้ เรื่องเกี่ยวกับแบรนด์ดิ้งมาก เราก็โอเค ขอให้เป็นเซ็ท เป็นชุดออกมา ก่อนแล้วกัน เพื่อให้คนซื้อเขาสามารถมองเห็นว่า เห็นความเปลี่ยนแปลง ระดับหนึ่ง ก็เลยเลือกที่จะออกแบบสินค้าที่มันเป็นชุด แล้วเราก็มา มองที่ปัญหา ปัญหาของการใช้งานเกี่ยวกับพวกแก้วน้ำหรือว่าชุด เสิร์ฟ เราก็มามองเรื่องของการใช้งานเป็นอันดับแรกก่อน เพราะว่า ในการคิดนี่ เราคิดว่าการใช้งานเป็นอะไรที่พื้นฐาน ควรจะผ่านเกณฑ์ จุดนั่นก่อน แล้วเราค่อยมาดูรูปลักษณ์ รูปลักษณ์นี่อาจจะเป็นเรื่อง ง่ายสำหรับนักออกแบบทั่วๆ ไป ที่ดีไซน์ปั๊บแล้วจะให้คนหันมามอง แล้วมันสะดุดตา ตรงนี้เป็นเรื่องง่าย แต่เรื่องการใช้งาน มักจะเป็น อะไรที่นักออกแบบทั่ว ๆ ไป อาจจะคิดไว้ว่าให้มันไม่ด้อยไปกว่าเดิม แต่เราคิดว่าใหนๆ ทำขึ้นมาใหม่แล้ว เราก็อยากให้ดีกว่าเดิม เราก็ มานึกถึงฟังก์ชั่นในการใช้งานว่า เวลาทุกครั้งที่เราเสิร์ฟท์น้ำ น้ำเย็น อะไรอย่างนี้ สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นก็คือ มันจะมีไอน้ำเหมือนมีหยดน้ำมาจับที่ ตัวแก้วหรือตัวเหยือกหรือถังน้ำแข็ง มันเกิดงาน เกิดการเช็ด เกิด อะไรที่เราแบบไม่ต้องการ อย่างหยดน้ำที่มันมาเปียกโต๊ะ ทำให้เรา เพิ่มงานอีกทั้งที่มันไม่จำเป็น เราก็เลยดีไซน์ให้มันแบบไม่เกิดจุดตรง

นี้ แล้วก็เรื่องของแก้วน้ำ หรือว่าเหยือกที่แบบมือปัดร่วงอยู่ตลอดนี้ มันเกิดขึ้นบ่อย มันทำให้เราคิดว่า ถ้างั้นเราดีไซน์ให้มันแบบว่าล้ม ยากหน่อย ให้มันมั่นคง ให้ฐานกว้างเพราะในการออกแบบพวก เหยือกแก้วทั่วไปฐานจะเล็กกว่า เพราะว่าในการการออกแบบ คำนึง ถึงเรื่องของการผลิตด้วยในการถอดแม่พิมพ์แบบนี้มันจะง่ายกว่า ก็ เลยมาเป็นอย่างนั้นหรือเปล่าคิดว่า และก็อีกเรื่องหนึ่งเป็นเรื่องของ วัสดุ เนื่องเราเป็นโรงงานพลาสติก เราก็เลยคิดว่าคงต้องใช้วัสดุ เป็นพลาสติกเป็นหลักนี่ละ แต่ว่าเราต้องเพิ่มมูลค่าทำให้ดูเหมือน เป็นแก้ว เพราะแก้วมันแพง แต่ในขณะเดียวกันเราต้องใช้ความได้ เปรียบของวัสดุ คือเรื่องของการที่มันหล่นแล้วไม่แตกมาเป็นจุดขาย มาเป็นจุดแข็งในการออกแบบด้วย ตรงนี้ก็เลยเหมือนกับว่าเราคิด จากฟังชั่นก่อนเอามารวมๆ กันว่าวิธีการคิดประมาณนี้ แล้วเราค่อย มาใส่คอนเซปท์ว่า เนี่ยมันเป็นอุปกรณ์สำหรับเสริฟน้ำ ดังนั้นเราก็ เลยดีไซน์จากน้ำเลย คิดง่าย ๆ ก็ใช้เรื่องของรูปทรงที่นึกถึงน้ำ น้ำนี่ มันอิสระ แต่จะมีบางรูปทรงที่เราจำได้ อย่างเช่น การที่น้ำหยดลง ไปบนผืนน้ำ เกิดคลื่น เกิดริปเปิล เราก็เอาตรงจุดนั้นมาใช้ในการ ดีไซน์สินค้าของเรา แล้วก็เรื่องของสี เราเล่นกับเรื่องของความหนา วัสดุ ทำให้เกิดมิติของสีที่แตกต่าง เช่น ช่วงที่บางกว่านี่สีจะอ่อน ช่วงที่หนากว่าสีจะเข้ม มันเหมือนเวลาเรามองไปในน้ำทะเลที่มีความ ลึก เราจะเห็นว่าที่ลึกกว่าจะมืดและที่ตื้นมันจะอ่อน แล้วก็เป็นการใส่ ความหมายหรือว่าคอนเซ็ปท์ในการดีไซน์เข้าไป อันนี้จะเป็นในส่วน ของการดีไซน์แบบในเบื้องต้น เสร็จแล้วพอมาถึงในส่วนของการผลิต หลาย ๆ ครั้งที่เราพัฒนาสินค้า เราจะได้โนฮาวใหม่ เพราะว่าในการ ออกแบบครั้งหนึ่ง คือถ้าเราอยากจะให้หลุดออกจากของทั่งไป มัน ก็เหมือนว่าเราไปดูของทั่วไปว่าทำอย่างไร เมื่อของทั่วไปทำแบบนี้ เราอยากให้มันแตกต่างจากแบบนี้ เราก็ต้องไปทำให้แตกต่าง พอ ทำให้มันแตกต่าง พอไปดูสาเหตุที่มันเหมือนกัน มันเหมือนเพราะว่า โพรเซสมันเหมือน ที่นี้เราอยากแตกต่างเราก็ต้องทำโพรเซสให้มัน ต่าง ก็เลยต้องมีการไปปรับแต่งอะไรนิดหนึ่งว่า จะพลิกแพลงอย่างไร ให้มันแบบ เกิดความแตกต่าง เพราฉะนั้นตรงที่เราทำนี่มันเกิดความ รู้ที่ทำให้เราไปพัฒนาในโปรดักส์ต่อๆ ไป ซึ่งมันก็เกิดทั้ง เฮ้ย..วันหลัง อย่าทำแบบนี้อีก มันปัญหามันเยอะมาก กับเทคนิคนี้ใช้ได้นะ เฉพาะ ตัวเลยหรือบางอย่างอาจจะเกิดเอ็ฟเฟคต์ที่เราแบบไม่ได้คาดคิดมา ก่อน ว่าทำอย่างนี้แล้วได้แบบนี้ มันคล้ายอะไรหละ เหมือนเราแบบ ไม่รู้ มันเป็นอย่างนั้นหรือเปล่านะ แบบกำกับหนังเสร็จ คนแสดง ดันมีมุขสดหรืออะไรออกมาช่วงตอนนั้นแล้วบังเอิญมันดีนะ เราเป็น ผู้กำกับเราก็ปล่อยเลย เราไม่สั่งคัท เราแบบว่าโอเค แจ๋ว แล้วเราก็ อาจจะเก็บเกี่ยวเทคนิคพวกนี้เอาไว้ใช้ในงานต่อๆ ไปได้

How to work

My idea is an inspiration in designing. Although I lacked the teamwork of research and marketing involving not have much experience about Branding but I started to produce the modern series of jugs, set of serving water. In fact, I analyzed that these vessels need to use in home, office, etc. and have a channel to widely distribute in the future.

After my selection to produce the series of vessels, I tried to analyze the problems to create more attractive forms and convenience to use the glasses and series of serving water and then solved all problems to make better products such as creating the wider base of glasses and also protecting the drop of water from the vessels. Moreover, we try to solve the problem of plastic in our factory by adding value to imitate the real glass and can save the cost of production.

Increasingly, we apply the advantage of plastic that is hard

to break as the strong point of our products. By conclusion, we analyzed all functions and then proposed the concept to design the model from the free forms of water. For example, when water dropped on the surface, the ripple happened. This reaction is designed as various forms of glasses. Furthermore, we also regarded to the shade of colors, the thickness of materials resulting to the dimension of soft and dark color as similar as the different shade of colors in the deep and shallow sea. After we designed as various concepts and then produced in the factory. Developing the products in several times resulted to create the modernity to separate from the general designs. Therefore, we need to design in many different styles through several new processes and will also progress with various techniques in our next products.

ปรัชญาการออกแบบแบรนด์ Qualy นี่ มันไม่ได้เป็นแบบนี้ มาแต่แรก คือถ้าสังเกตเห็นพัฒนาการ ในครั้งแรกสุด ชุดเสิร์ฟ หรือว่าชุดห้องน้ำอะไรอย่างนี้ มันเป็นอะไรที่ มันมีปัจจัยในการคิด มากกว่าแค่เรื่องดีไซน์รูปทรง คือเราเริ่มก้าวเข้ามาสู่ธุรกิจการขาย เป็นครั้งแรก เรามองเรื่องความเสี่ยง เราก็พยายามยังไม่ทำอะไรที่ มันหลุดมากๆ ยังไม่ทำอะไรที่มันแปลกมากๆ มันทำให้เราทำอะไร ที่แบบเซฟๆ ก่อน ก็ ได้รูปทรงอะไรที่แบบเรียบง่ายแต่ว่าเราใส่ คอนเซ็ปท์ไปในนั้นซึ่งคอนเซ็ปท์ที่เห็น นั่นค่อนข้างแอบสแตรคท์ ก็คือต้องเป็นคนในวงการหรืออะไรที่จะมองออกว่าดี ไซน์มาจาก น้ำ ดีไซน์มาจากขวดน้ำ มันก็เลยเป็นแบบดีไซน์สำหรับคนเฉพาะ กลุ่ม แต่ว่าก็ได้รับความตอบรับที่ดีระดับหนึ่งเลย ก็คือออกครั้งแรก เราสามารถที่จะลงหนังสือพิมพ์เลยในคอลเลคชั่นแรก แล้วก็วางขาย ทั่วๆ ห้างเมืองไทย ที่นี้พอสเต็ปท์ต่อมา เราเริ่มมีความมั่นใจเพิ่มขึ้น นิดหน่อย เราก็ดี ไซน์สินค้าที่มีความแปลกขึ้นมาอีกนิดหนึ่งเป็น

แอปเปิ้ล แอบเปิ้ลลูกใหญ่ใหญ่เท่าหม้อหุ้งข้าว ใหญ่ฟุตหนึ่งเลย ซึ่ง ตรงนีน้ ะ มันเหมือนกับว่าถ้าผมรับจ้างแล้วผมไปแนะนำผูป้ ระกอบการ ทำ ว่าเขาต้องด่าผมแน่ ๆ เพราะว่ามันไม่มีการค้นคว้าวิจัย หรือว่า ไม่มีอะไรที่บอกหรือรับรองให้เขาได้ว่าลงทุนเยอะขนาดนี้นะ มันจะ ได้ผลตอบรับอะไรมา หรือกับที่คั้นน้ำส้มที่รูปทรงประหลาด ๆ มัน ก็แบบแปลก ๆ นะ คือดีไซน์เอาแปลกเลยนะ ไม่ตอบรับกับตลาดแน่ ๆ เพราะว่าตลาดนี่ ถ้าไปวางมันค่อนข้างจะหลุด แปลกมากแล้วก็ แอบเปิ้ลนี่ใหญ่ ทุกอย่างลงทุนสูงเนื่องจากเป็นแมสโปรดักชั่น คือ ค่าโมลด์นี่ไม่ต้องพูดเลย มันแทบจะเหยียบหลักล้านเลย แล้วก็ทำ ขึ้นมาก็ยังไม่มีอะไรรับประกันว่าขายได้ แต่เนื่องจากเราไม่มีอะไร จะเสี่ยงไปกว่านี้ เราไม่เคยขาย แต่จะเป็นความโชคดีก็ได้ เพราะว่า... ก็ลองดู พ่อแม่ให้โอกาส เราก็โชคดีทำมา ปรากฏว่าได้ผลในทาง ตรงกันข้ามครับ ก็คือค่อนข้างจะได้รับการตอบรับที่ดีมาก คือดีกว่า ครั้งแรกเลย อย่างตัวที่คั้นน้ำส้มนี้ มันค่อนข้างจะได้รับการตอบรับ จากสื่อมวลชนอย่างดี ก็ถึงกับลงอยู่หน้าปกแม็กกาซีนอะไรอย่างนี้ เลยไม่ ใช่แค่เมืองไทยก็ ไปเมืองนอกด้วยแล้วไปออกเอ็กซิบิชั่นต่าง ประเทศ อันนั้นไปออกในนามของนักออกแบบก็ลงหนังสือพิมพ์ อยู่หน้าหนึ่งด้วย ก็ค่อนข้างจะเซอร์ไพรส์ แต่ยอดขายนี่ ไม่เวิร์ค สำหรับตัวที่คั้นน้ำส้มนะ ที่คั้นน้ำส้มนี่เรารออีก 2 ปี ยอดขายจะขึ้นมา ขึ้นมามากๆ เลย เหมือนกับในปีแรกนะ มันคนยังช็อคอยู่มั้ง ว่าแบบ ทำอะไรออกมา นี่มันอะไร เอาไว้ใช้อะไร จนเหมือนกับเขาคงต้อง อ่านจากสื่อก่อน หรือว่าดูแม็กกาซีนก่อนมั้ง ค่อยเก็ทนะว่าคืออะไร ส่วนแอบเปิ้ลเป็นเคสหนึ่งที่ผมยกตัวอย่างบ่อยๆ ว่านี่ไซส์มันเท่าหม้อ หุงข้าว แต่เวลาที่เป็นราคาขายจริงๆ แพงกว่าหม้อหุงข้าว ซึ่งหม้อ หุงข้าวถ้าคุณมาแกะชิ้นส่วนออกมาดูนี่ โห...เป็นร้อยแล้วคุณต้องมี โรงงานที่มันแบบ... โคตรใหญ่นะ โรงงานที่ใหญ่มากๆ คือผมอยู่ใน อุตสาหกรรมนี้ ผมเข้าใจดีเพราะว่าเราเองก็เคยทำพาร์ตของชิ้นส่วน เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้าเหมือนกัน ซึ่งในหนึ่งโรงงานอาจจะทำพาร์ตเหล่านั้น ได้สัก 5-6 พาร์ตเต็มที่ ณ ช่วงเวลานั้น เพราะว่าในช่วงเวลาที่เขาจะ ออกสินค้า เขาจะดีไซน์ของมาหนึ่งชิ้นและกระจายชิ้นส่วนไป 100 ชิ้น ไปสู่โรงงานหลายสิบแห่งเพื่อผลิตพร้อม ๆ กัน เพื่อให้ได้หม้อหุงข้าว มาขาย แต่เราทำแอบเปิ้ลด้วยโรงงานโรงงานเดียวที่มันไม่ได้ใหญ่ มากแล้วขายได้ในราคาที่สูงกว่าหม้อหุงข้าว ซึ่งตรงนี้ก็เป็นเคสอัน หนึ่งที่น่าเป็นตัวอย่างได้ และเราก็เป็นสินค้าตัวแรกที่เราส่งออกด้วย ตัวนี้ก็ค่อนข้างจะเป็นความภูมิใจ ต่อๆ มาในแนวคิดอันนี้ก็เลยกลาย เป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้เรามาคิดแล้วว่าเราจะไม่ทำของที่เป็นของทั่วไปแล้ว เพราะของทั่วไปนี่ใครๆ ก็ทำกันเยอะแล้ว เราไม่จำเป็นต้องไปแข่งขัน กับเขา

As the science of plastic product designs through an inspiration from the nature

The philosophy in designing the Brand of “Qualy” has an evolution of development from the simple designs in the first series of serving water and bathrooms to the abstract forms that the people in the field of design can understand that the form of water and form of bottles are an inspiration of these product designs. However, our new collection was widely concerned from the public and also promoted in the newspapers and then distributed allover the department stores. Subsequently, we are confident to create various abnormal sizes of products such as the big apple has the equal size (1 feet) as rice cooker or weird forms of squeezed orange juice. Although all of new collections are risk to the high investment for the molding, the current of disagreement from the clients and marketing but we insisted to produce them as the mass production. Luckily, they are widely concerned by the consumers and mass media but not success to have more profit in the first year of our new products. For example, the photo of squeezed orange juice was promoted on the cover of some magazines in Thailand, also exhibited in overseas and published in the newspapers.

However, we have great profit in the 2nd year of promotion in various mass media. Incredibly, the price of big apple is expensive than the real rice cooker that have many parts inside it and produced in many big factories in the same time to get more quantities of rice cookers for distribution.

On the other hand, we only produced the big apples in our small factory but can sell in better price than rice cookers.

This is a sample of interesting case to study the factors of productions. We are proud that the big apples are the first exporting product so we intended to create the new products and not joined in the trade competition of mass products.

ยุคที่ 2 ที่เราทำสินค้าที่มีแรงบันดาลใจมาจากธรรมชาติ คือรูปทรงที่แตกต่างแล้วก็สร้างความช็อคหรือว่าเซอร์ไพรส์ให้กับ คนนิดหนึ่ง พอมาสู่สเต็ปที่ 3 เรามาคิดถึงเรื่องของสิ่งแวดล้อมเพิ่ม เข้าไป ทำไมมันถึงมาถึงจุดนี้ได้ สินค้าของเรานี่ดีไซน์เรามักจะซ่อน ฟังก์ชั่นเอาไว้ภายใน อย่างตัวแอบเปิ้ล คือไม่ได้เป็นแค่ลูกแอบเปิ้ล ไปโชว์ แต่เป็นคอนเทนเนอร์แล้วตัวฝาเองนี่พลิกกลับมาเป็นถาดที่ เอาไว้ใส่ของได้ ส่วนตัวก้านเป็นตัวบอกว่าของมีอยู่เต็มถังหรือเปล่า ก้านจะเคลื่อนที่ได้ ตัวนี้นะพอเราดีไซน์ของในปรัชญาแบบนี้ว่าซ่อน ฟังก์ชั่นอะไรไว้ข้างใน ตัวมันเองสามารถที่จะเป็นของประดับใน บ้านได้ โอเค เวลาที่เราไปออกงานแฟร์ งาน BIG งานอะไรนี่ ลูกค้า จะเป็นคนหนึ่งที่เข้ามาคุยกับเรา แล้วแบบว่า เออนี่ทำอะไรได้ คือ ทีแรกนีจ่ ะซือ้ ละ ซือ้ ด้วยความทีม่ นั เป็นรูปทรงอะไรประมาณนี้ พอเรา อธิบายฟังชั่นเข้าไปปั๊บ เซอร์ไพรส์ ได้มากว่าสิ่งที่เขาคาดหวังแล้ว คือ ควักตังค์ตั้งแต่รูปทรงแล้วละมาถึง หลายคนเห็นสินค้าเราปั๊บก็โดย เฉพาะผู้หญิงนี่ โอ้ยน่ารักนะ จบ แต่พอเรามีการอธิบายว่ามันทำ แบบนี่ได้ทำอย่างนั้นได้ มันได้มากกว่าที่คิดไว้ เลยกลายเป็นการบ้าน ที่ ท ำให้ เ ราต้ อ งออกแบบในสแตนดาร์ ด ที่ มี อ ะไรซ่ อ นอยู่ ข้ า งใน เพราะลูกค้าเวลามาอีกครั้งหนึ่ง เขาจะเดาก่อนแล้วว่าสินเราตัวนี้จะ ทำอะไรได้มากกว่าที่เห็นไหม นี่เลยกลายเป็นสแตนดาร์ด แล้วก็เกิด การที่ไปเรียกเพื่อนมาแล้วก็มาแนะนำสินค้าเราแทนตัวเราเลย ตัวนี้ ก็เป็นสิ่งที่เราภูมิใจอันหนึ่งว่า เราไม่ได้ดีไซน์สินค้าแค่ให้มีหน้าตาน่ารัก แต่ว่าใช้งานดีแล้วมีไอเดียแฝงและมันดีถึงขั้นที่เขาบอกต่อ ช่วยให้ เราทำการตลาดง่าย แล้วเราก็มานึกถึงทุกครั้งที่ลูกค้ามีการบอกต่อ สินค้าเรา เล่าเรื่องราวสินค้าเราให้กับเพื่อนฟัง มันทำให้เรานึกถึงว่า ถ้าเราสอดแทรกเรื่องอื่นๆ หละ เราเริ่มมาคอนโทรลว่าเรื่องที่เขาจะ เล่านี่ ลองเป็นเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อมดีไหม ลองเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับสังคม เรื่องเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ เรื่องเกี่ยวกับประหยัดน้ำ ทรัพยากร ทีนี้เราก็ มาดีไซน์สินค้าเราให้มีสตอรี่แบบนั้น เวลาที่เขาไปพรีเซนท์ต่อนี่ มี คอนเทนท์ละ มีเนื้อเรื่องที่มากกว่าฟังก์ชั่นละ ที่มากกว่าน่ารัก เอ๊ะ ไม่ใช่แค่นั้นละ เราก็ใส่เข้าไป ก็จะเป็นสินค้าที่มีไอเดียเกี่ยวกับ ทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมด้วย แล้วเราดีไซน์สินค้าที่เกี่ยวกับเรื่องของแรง บันดาลใจมาจากธรรมชาติ จากสัตว์ จากพืช เรานึกถึงคนเมือง ทั่วๆ ไป ซึ่งเป็นลูกค้าส่วนใหญ่ของเรา เข้ามาอาศัยอยู่ในเมืองแล้ว ทุกอย่างมันจำกัด คนเคยอยู่ที่กว้างๆ อยู่ต่างจังหวัด อยู่ชนบท มี สัตว์ มีต้นไม้ มีอะไร กลายมาอยู่คอนโดฯ ค่าใช้จ่ายสูงขึ้นจากค่า อินเตอร์เนต ค่าโทรศัพท์ ค่าอะไรที่แบบเมื่อก่อนไม่ต้องจ่าย ค่าภาษี

Collaboration in an environmental conservation

We created various odd forms of products in the 2nd period under an inspiration from the nature and regarded to the environmental contexts in the 3rd period. We can step to this point since we have hidden function in our new products. For instance, the big apple is the container, the lid can change to be the tray and the movable shaft of big apple can indicate the volume in it. It is used for home decoration.

When we showed our new products in BIG fairs, the clients mostly surprised and bought them after we explained in details of its qualification and then demonstrate how to use them. The above feedback has an influence to design the next products by hiding some surprises inside them as the expectation of clients. Mostly of clients preferred to guess what is hidden inside them and also promoted our products with their friends. This is our pride in designing various cute forms and its have good quality until the clients impressed and appreciated them with the others. We have an idea to reflect the contexts of conservation for the environment, society, animals, saving water and natural source. Moreover, we planned to design the next products to present the inspiration from the nature and plants. We regarded to our mostly clients in the upcountry who ever lived in the wide area surrounding with the animals and trees, on the other hand, when they moved to live in the small condominium in the urban, they have higher expenses for internet, mobile, social tax, decoration, etc. to approach into the modernity.

The decorative products are the waste products which are not necessary to use and buy them. By this reason, we try to design to use in several functions and have worth to buy them, not only use for paperweight or hanging for decoration.

Most of women prefer to have shopping until they have many things over their needs and their boyfriends doubted why they bought them since their homes full of waste products.

We try to think about the marketing how to create the functions in our useful products to be supported by their boyfriends when they bought our products. We planned to

สังคมต้องไปกินเลี้ยงกับเพื่อน ต้องมีเพื่อนมาที่คอนโดฯ ต้องแต่ง คอนโดฯให้มนั เท่หใ์ ห้แบบดูฟลู ดูแบบเจ๋ง มากมายค่าใช้จา่ ยเยอะแยะ แล้วของดีไซน์นี่ในการรับรู้ของคนทั่วไปนี่เป็นของสิ้นเปลือง คือไม่มี ตังค์อย่าไปซื้อ ซื้อมาทำไมอยู่ในบ้านเยอะแยะ ตัวนี้เลยเป็นอีกอัน หนึ่งที่ทำให้เราเอามาเป็นจุดพิจารณาในการออกแบบสินค้าอะไร สักชิ้นหนึ่ง เราต้องมองว่ามันอยู่ในบ้านแล้ว หนึ่งคือใช้งานต้องเป็น ของใช้งานแน่นอน เราจะไม่ทำอะไรก็ตามที่มีฟังชั่นแบบแทบไม่มี ฟังก์ชั่น เช่นทับกระดาษหรือว่าเอาไปแขวนไว้ให้สวย จบ อันนี้ไม่ทำ ทำสินค้าที่มีความจำเป็น เป็นปัจจัยที่คิดว่าต้องใช้อยู่แล้วถึงได้ซื้อ มันทำให้แบบตัวนี้ช่วยให้ผู้หญิงที่เขาไปช็อปปิ้ง บางทีไปช็อปปิ้งกับ ผู้ชายแล้วเขาซื้อด้วยความแบบว่าคิดน้อยไร้สาระมาก แบบว่าคือไม่ ได้ว่าผู้หญิงนะ แต่ก็คิดว่าผู้หญิงส่วนมากจะใช้อารมณ์ในการซื้อ สินค้าในการช๊อปปิ้งบางทีแบบเต็มบ้านเลย แล้วก็แบบไม่ได้ใช้ และ ผู้ชายที่เดินมาข้างๆ แบบว่าซื้อไปทำไมที่บ้านยังมีอยู่เลยและก็ ไม่ได้ใช้ อันนี้เหมือนกับทั้งเรื่องของประโยชน์ใช้สอยและเรื่องของ มาร์เก็ตติ้งด้วย มาร์เก็ตติ้งก็คือทำยังไงให้ผู้ชายคนนี้มาสนับสนุนว่า เออ..จะซื้อก็ไม่ขัด เราหาเหตุผลดีๆ ให้กับคุณผู้หญิงที่ซื้อสินค้าเรา ว่าซื้อไว้ใช้ ไม่ได้ซื้อเพราะว่าน่ารักเฉยๆ ชนิดที่ว่าผู้ชายที่มาด้วยนี่ เถียงไม่ออก เราใส่ฟังก์ชั่นไปมากกว่าหนึ่งด้วยซ้ำไป อาจจะ 2-3 เท่าที่เราจะยัดได้เลย เหมือนกับว่าถ้าคุณชอบมินิมอล หนึ่งฟังก์ชั่น หนึ่งรูปทรง ตัดทอนให้เยอะที่สุดเพื่อให้ได้ฟังก์ชั่นนี้เท่านั้น แต่ผมมี นำเสนอใหม่ ผมทำให้ดูน่ารักขึ้นแต่ฟังก์ชั่นผมยัดไป 3 ไป 4 หาร ออกมาแล้วน้อยกว่ามินิมอลอีก คืออันเดียวแต่ทำได้เยอะ แล้วของ ชิ้นนี้หลังจากที่คุณไม่ได้ใช้ ปกติคุณไม่ใช้อยู่ตลอดเวลาหรอกของ หนะ ใช้เฉพาะช่วงที่มันต้องใช้นะนอกนั้นเก็บในตู้ แต่ของเรานี่จะรับใช้ 54

คุณตลอดเวลา ระหว่างที่ไม่ได้ใช้มันจะต้องถูกวางไว้นอกตู้ หรือตู้ โชว์เพื่อเป็นของประดับบ้าน ซึ่งคุณไม่จำเป็นที่จะต้องไปหาแจกันหรือ อะไรที่มันไม่ได้มีฟังก์ชั่น รูปปั้น แล้วมาวางในห้องคุณเพื่อตกแต่ง มันเปล่าประโชยน์ใช้งานไม่ได้ นี่ ใช้งานได้ด้วยแล้วก็ตกแต่งด้วย ฉะนั้นอันนี้จะเป็นจุดหนึ่งที่เป็นปรัชญาสำคัญที่เราต้องทำเพื่อให้เป็น แบบ 24 ชั่วโมง ช่วงที่ใช้งานก็เป็นกรรมกร ช่วงที่ไม่ได้ถูกใช้ก็เป็น พริตตี้ยืนสวยอยู่ตลอดเวลา

ที่นี้พอถึงจุดของสิ่งแวดล้อม เราก็พยายามให้คนเล่าเรื่อง สิ่งแวดล้อมมากขึ้น ก็เป็นทั้งเรื่องของการตลาดด้วย เป็นเรื่องของ เทรนด์ที่เป็นการตลาด แต่เราจะไม่ทำให้เป็นแค่นั้น คือเราต้องทำให้ ฟังก์ชั่นมันอีโคด้วย ฟังก์ชั่นของมันกรีนด้วย คือแค่เราใช้วัสดุเท่ากัน แล้วมีฟังก์ชั่นมากกว่า มันก็เป็นการใช้วัสดุที่ประหยัดแล้ว ตัวนี้ไม่ได้ ตอบเรื่องของมาร์เก็ตติ้งว่าความเป็นอีโค คือลึกไปสำหรับผู้บริโภค ในการว่ามองแล้วจะรู้ไม่ถึงขนาดนั้น เขาไม่ได้มองลึกขนาดนั้น ดังนั้น เราต้องทำอะไรที่เขาเข้าใจได้ง่าย ที่มันแบบว่าใช้ความน่ารักมาดึงดูด มาทำให้คนหันมามองก่อน เหมือนการโฆษณา หันมามองก่อนแล้ว สนใจ รู้จัก แล้วก็เข้าใจ มันเป็นสเต็ป พอคนเข้าใจปั๊บ พอคนสนใจปั๊บ รู้จัก เข้าใจ ทีนี้เราได้สื่อสารเต็มที่ละ พอถึงจุดที่บอกต่อ ตรงนี้ก็จะ ถือว่าเราทำสำเร็จละ อย่างผมนะมีตัวอย่างว่าเราดีไซน์สินค้าบางตัว ไป คือเหมือนกับเวลาเราคิด เราคิดอยู่คนเดียว คิดของเราคนเดียว ไปอย่างนี้ มันจบแค่นี้ เราอยากทำอย่างนี้ แต่สิ่งที่มันออกไป เอาไป วางขาย คนไปพูดต่อ แล้วไม่ได้พูดแค่ประเทศเรา เรายังส่งออกแล้ว ไปพูดทั่วโลก แล้วก็มีนักออกแบบจากต่างประเทศชอบสินค้าเรา อยากจะมาร่วมงานกับเรา อยากจะมาฝึกงานกับเรา คนรู้จัก สื่อเอา

have 3-4 functions but less than minimal products or higher than minimal product only 1 function. However, if the clients have rarely used our products and keep them in the board, actually, our products can use for home decoration. This is the main philosophy of 24 hours benefit that our products can compare as the labor when used them and as like the pretty while used them for home decoration.

We try to present the contexts of an environment as the popular trend and current of marketing, however, we intended to have more functions of eco and green while we can save the cost by using the equal materials. In fact, the clients are hard to approach into the eco so we have to create our products that are easier to perceive and the cuteness can be attractive to the clients to view our products as same as the advertisement. As a result, when the clients concerned our products and we can communicate in full options, our success will occur. For example, we designed some products

from only our ideas but having talk of the town from the clients in Thailand and overseas until the international designers appreciated our products and intended to practice with us. In a meanwhile, the mass media published about our products and distributed them to the public in worldwide. Therefore, if we planned to design some new products, we have to be responsible for all unexpected results. If we only designed from our passion or for an art but our product is preciously used by the clients, as a result, their happiness happened

“It is very difficult to run the business from the old generation to the next generation. He tried to change the conceptual process through the designs but he and his father cannot mutually concern in different thinking systems. However, the products development need to get the maximum benefits, subsequently, the good credit will then happen. The designers who have to run the business from their families mostly faced to many difficulties to develop the business.�

ไปเขียน มันไปไกลมากนะ มันไม่ใช่เรื่องของเราคนเดียวแล้วหละ ทีนี้ เวลาที่เราจะออกแบบอะไรซักอย่าง มันเหมือนกับเราต้องรับผิดชอบ กับสิ่งที่เราทำละ มันมาก มันไม่ใช่เรื่องที่... เริ่มๆ อาจจะทำด้วย ความชอบหรือเราชอบออกแบบ ชอบวาด เราชอบทำงานศิลปะ มัน ไม่ใช่แค่นั้นแล้ว กลายเป็นว่าเป็นสิ่งที่มันใหญ่กว่านั้นมากแล้ว ไปไกล มากแล้ว คนที่ใช้ของเราแล้วได้คุณค่าที่เราออกแบบด้วย เขาก็จะมี ความสุขแล้วก็เกิดอีโคแวลู ทุกอย่างที่เราทำไปตั้งแต่เริ่มจนจบ มัน ทำให้มันมีผลต่อคนในระดับโลกได้ เพราะฉะนั้นในการคิดสินค้า อะไรซักอย่าง นอกเหนือจากคอนเซ็ปท์ทางด้านดีไซน์ เราต้องมอง ไปถึงตั้งแต่ก่อนที่จะมีโปรดักส์ไปจนช่วงการผลิต ไปจนส่งไปขาย ส่งไปขายเสร็จเป็นอย่างไรต่อ ลูกค้าซื้อไปใช้งาน ใช้งานแล้วมันพัง ไปจะเป็นอย่างไรต่อ คือคิดทั้งกระบวนการ เราต้องละเอียดกับมัน ทั้งหมดทุกขั้นตอน แค่การลดสกรูไปหนึ่งตัวนี่ ผมผลิตทีหนึ่งสินค้า ที่เป็นแมสนี่น้อยๆ ก็หลักพัน มากๆ ก็หลักหลายหมื่น เป็นแสน เพราะฉะนั้นสกรูหนึ่งตัวที่มันไม่ต้องขันนี่ มันมีผล คูณพันคูณหมื่น ไปได้เลย อะไรที่คุณทำนี่มันมากกว่านั้นมาก เพราะฉะนั้นตัวนี้นะ อยากให้คนที่เป็นนักออกแบบหรือว่าทำอะไรที่เป็นต้นแบบนี่ มาสนใจ ข้องเกี่ยวกับเรื่องพวกนี้ ทำนิดเดียวแต่ให้ผลค่อนข้างมาก เพราะฉะนั้น คิดผลกระทบต่างๆ ที่จะตามมาอันนี้คือหลักการที่ใช้อยู่ตลอด เป้าหมายที่จะก้าวต่อไป

คิดว่า ตอนนี้เป้าหมายของเราก็คือสิ่งที่เราทำ สิ่งที่เราคิด เราอยากจะสื่อสาร ทำอย่างไรเราถึงจะสื่อสารความคิดของเรา ซึ่ง มันแบบ มันล้นมากๆ ที่เราใส่ลงไปในผลิตภัณฑ์ ให้คนทั่วไปได้ เข้าใจ ได้รู้ ฉะนั้นตัวนี้นะเป็นสิ่งที่เรากำลังทำอยู่ ว่าวิธีการสื่อสาร ทั้งหลายทั้งปวงเพื่อเผยแพร่ความเป็นปรัชญาที่เราคิด และถ้าวันหนึ่ง ที่มีคนเห็นคุณค่า มันจะช่วยมากๆ เลยในการที่จะยกระดับของการ ออกแบบในตลาด สมมุติว่าถ้าคนทั่วไปมองว่า Qualy นี่ มีสินค้า ที่เราออกแบบ ต้องมีมาตรฐาน อย่างนี้ที่ Qualy มี ทำให้เขาหันมา ใส่ใจเรื่องพวกนี้ ก็จะเหมือนไปชี้ชวนให้คนอื่นๆ ที่ทำสินค้าแบบเดียว กันต้องมาคิดให้ได้มาตรฐานเดียวกับเรา หลายๆ คนอาจจะไม่ได้ มองเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อมหรือว่าประโยชน์ใช้สอยอะไรมาก กลายเป็นว่า ต้องหันกลับมามองเพราะว่าคนที่ซื้อของเราเขามอง คือให้ตลาด เป็นแบบนั้นหันมามองเรื่องพวกนี้ ให้ผู้ผลิตมาใส่ใจกับรายละเอียด มากขึ้น ก็จะทำให้มาตรฐานของการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ในสังคม ใน ตลาด แม้แต่ในโลกมันจะสูงขึ้น และก็จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้บริโภค ซึ่งนั่นก็มันเหมือนเป็นความท้าทายของเราด้วยว่า ถ้าคนทุกคนตาม มาถึงจุดนั้นแล้วเราจะทำอะไรต่อไป

and they can also get an eco value. As the conclusion, all our designs from the beginning to the end resulted to many people in worldwide. We thus considered how our products effected to the people, especially, we need to analyze in details for every process. For instance, we manufactured the mass products in the quantities of thousands or the tens of thousands or hundred thousands, it greatly resulted to our business if only one screw is not used. Importantly, when the designers created the original products, they must regard how their products will effect.

The Next Goal

At present, our goal is all things through our creation, thought and interaction and how to communicate our idea through our products to distribute our philosophy to the public. If the people realized to their value, as a result, it can upgrade the designs in the market. For example, if the public considered that brand of Qualy is our standard product, they trusted to promote them. The other factories where manufactured the same products, they are necessary to make the same standard as our products. The designers must have more realization to the valuable use and environment.

In fact, the clients expected that all manufacturers will regard to the standard of product designs in the society, marketing and worldwide involving make benefits to the consumers. All of these are our challenge. If everyone stepped to this point, what products we will design.

จบจากคณะมัณฑนศิลป์ ศิลปากรนะคะ ภาควิชาประยุกตศิลปศึกษา จบมาก็ทำด้านตกแต่งภายในเกี่ยวกับเรื่องของวัสดุ เรื่อง ของการเลือกสี การเลือกวัสดุที่ใช้ประกอบการตกแต่งภายใน โดยที่ ทางมัณฑนากรอาจจะออกแบบเป็นลายเส้นมา มีคอนเซ็ปท์ให้คร่าวๆ แล้วเราก็ลงไปดูในรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับการเลือกวัสดุว่าจะ ควรเป็น วอลเปเปอร์แบบใหนชนิดใหน พรมควรจะเป็นอย่างไร ผ้าควรจะเป็น อย่างไร พอเราทำตัวนี้มาสัก 3 ปี แล้วกระโดดมาทำงานตกแต่งภายใน แล้วก็ทำอีกสักประมาณ 3 ปีก็โดนเลย์ออฟออก พอโดนเลย์ออฟออก ปุ๊บเนี่ย ก็ระหกระเหินนิดหนึ่ง แล้วก็ที่บ้านอยากทำธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับ ตกแต่งบ้าน ทีแรกก็เหมือนกับจะทำของขาย พี่ก็แนะนำว่าน่าจะทำ ของตกแต่งบ้าน เพราะว่าเราทำงานด้านนี้มา 6 ปี เราก็คิดว่า เรามี สินค้าบางประเภทที่ควรจะผลิตออกมา เพื่อที่จะเสริมความต้องการ ของตลาด ปรากฏว่าก็เริ่มทำพรมทอมือจากเส้นใยธรรมชาติ เหตุผล ที่ทำตัวนี้เพราะว่า อันที่หนึ่งบ้านเรายังไม่ค่อยมีที่จะมาเล่นกับวัสดุ ประเภทนี้เยอะมาก และแทบจะไม่มีเลย แล้วก็วัสดุที่ใช้ก็เป็นวัสดุ เส้นใยธรรมชาติที่เราไปวิจัยหาข้อมูล เราจะไม่ใช้ของที่มีอยู่ในท้อง ตลาด เช่น ปอ เช่นฝ้าย หรือว่าผักตบ อันนัน้ ไม่ทำเลยเราจะหาวัสดุใหม่ เราก็ได้ป่านศรนารายณ์ เตยหนาม แล้วก็ใบปาล์ม เราก็เอาพวกนี้ มาทำดีไซน์ ก็เริ่มจากจุดเริ่มต้นก็เริ่มจากตรงนี้

The Past Way

I graduated from the Department of Applied Art and Study, the Faculty of Decorative Arts and then worked in the field of interior design about the color and material selections. Through 3 years, when the decorators sketched and roughly wrote the concepts, I need to consider and select which kinds of wallpapers and carpets. Subsequently, I worked as interior designer for 3 years before the layoff and be wandering. I was then suggested to create the materials for an interior design because of my six years experience and family’s business, by this reason, I primary produced various styles of handmade carpets from the natural fabrics to response the need of consumers since it has rarely sold in Thailand. Especially, the new materials from natural fabrics; Sorn Narai hemp, wavy and palm leaves were studied through the research before the design and production and not created from the materials in the market such as fiber from inner bark, cotton and water hyacinth.

อาชีพจริง ๆ ค่อนข้างเยอะนิดหนึ่งนะคะ เพราะว่านอกจาก จะทำสิง่ ทอทีเ่ ป็นหลักแล้วในสมัยก่อน โดยเฉพาะพอบริษัทเริม่ อยูต่ วั มากขึ้น เราก็มีเวลาที่จะปลีกตัวไปทำอย่างอื่นบ้าง เช่นสอนหนังสือ ตอนนี้พี่สอนอยู่ที่มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ แล้วก็จะมีวิชาอินทีเรียเดคคอเรชั่น ที่สมาคมฝรั่งเศส สอนมาก็ ประมาณ 8 ปีแล้ว แล้วก็มาสอนและบรรยายตามที่ต่าง ๆ กับหนังสือ Idesign ที่เชิญไปบรรยายให้กลุ่มแม่บ้านต่าง ๆ ทั่วประเทศ แล้ว ปัจจุบันนี้ก็คือกลับมาทำงานตกแต่งภายใน เมื่อปี 2549 พี่ทำโบสถ์ ร้อยปีที่จันทบุรี เป็นโบสถ์คริสต์ และก็ในปีนี้พี่ทำโบสถ์คริสต์เหมือน กัน เป็นอาสนวิหาร ที่สุราษฎร์ธานี คือความที่เราทำตกแต่งภายใน มาก่อนนี่ เราก็จะรู้ว่าการตกแต่ง ที่พี่ทำนะจะเป็นเรื่องของแพทเทิร์น การออกแบบแพทเทิร์น การใช้สี การตีแนวความคิดในการออกแบบ ให้เหมาะสมกับสถานที่ ถ้ามาโยงใยกับสิ่งทอก็เป็นเรื่องของงาน ลักษณะลวดลาย คือลายพิมพ์ แพทเทิร์นการพิมพ์พวกนี้ มันก็จะ สามารถเอามาใช้ร่วมกันได้ อย่างออกแบบโบสถ์ เราก็ต้องออกแบบ ชุดพระสังฆราชด้วย เราก็ต้องมีออกแบบลายปัก รูปแบบเสื้อ วางโทน สี หรือออกแบบกระทั่งผ้าปู รันเนอร์ แท่นพิธี หรือไม่ก็พวกหมอน และก็พวกของที่เกี่ยวกับธง และก็พวกอาภรณ์ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ซึ่งก็เป็น เรื่องแปลกที่ได้เรียนรู้ แต่ว่ามันก็ใช้หลักการการออกแบบ สุนทรียศาสตร์หรือว่าองค์ประกอบศิลป์ที่เหมือนกัน แต่ว่ามันแค่เปลี่ยน ทัศนธาตุที่เกิดขึ้น ถ้าเราทำผ้ามันก็เป็นเรื่องของเส้นใย เนื้อผ้า แต่ ก็เอาตัวนี้มาปรับใช้กัน เป็นเรื่องของระนาบเรื่องของพื้นผิว

What kinds of my career?

I worked in several careers. The textile company is the main business and also performed as a lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Thammasat University and taught in the course of interior decoration at Alliance Francaise for 8 years and then lectured in many institutes, increasingly, I was invited by I-Design Magazine to narrate for many housewives from allover country. Finally, I am presently working in the field of interior design. I had ever joined to work in interior design for the one hundred years Christ church at Chanthaburi province in 2006 and in the Buddhist monastery at Surat Thani province. Due to my direct experience, I can understand the way of pattern designs, shade of colors, concepts of interior design to harmonize with the places. Several kinds of textiles and printed patterns can be applied with an interior design in the church such as the pattern and color design for the supreme patriarch’s costumes, tablecloths, runners, pedestals of rituals, cushions, materials for flags and sacred adornments. All of these were studied through the principles of design, aesthetics or similar compositions of art but only adjusted as the different contexts. For instance, if using the glossy clothes, it is necessary to apply in the context of surface.

ป่านศรนารายณ์นี่หลังจากที่เราไปสัมผัสและคลุกคลีแล้ว พบว่า ที่สำคัญคือฐานการผลิต เรามีฐานการผลิต เรามีแหล่งวัตถุดิบ ที่เราสามารถศึกษาได้ ที่เรายังยืนยันทำตัวนี้เพราะมันมีเสน่ห์ เราได้ ข้อมูลจากลูกค้าเพิ่มเติมว่า ป่านศรนารายณ์คือคิงส์ออฟเนเชอรอล ไฟเบอร์ ไหมคือควีนออฟเนเชอรอลไฟเบอร์ ไหมบ้านเรามีแล้ว ทีนี้ พี่ก็เลยอยากดันความเป็นป่านศรนารายณ์ ถามว่าเป็นคิงส์ออฟเน เชอรอลไฟเบอร์คืออะไร อันที่หนึ่ง เขามีความนวล และก็เงางาม แล้วก็มีความเหนียวแล้วก็คงทนมาก สามารถเป็นเชือกดึงสมอเรือ ในทะเลได้ เวลาเรามาย้อมสี ก็ดูดซับสีได้ง่ายเพราะสีมันอ่อน และ ก็มีความมันวาว ขนาดเราต้มแล้วนี่ความมันวาวก็ยังอยู่ ฉะนั้นเราก็ เลยเน้นที่ตรงนี้ แล้วที่สำคัญอีกอันหนึ่งก็คือความดื้อด้าน เพราะว่า มันแพง แล้วก็มนั ต้องควบคุมค่อนข้างเยอะ คือทำนีเ่ ราไม่ได้กำรีก้ ำไร นะ เห็นว่าทำไมของมันราคาสูง ต้นทุนมันสูง ค่าแรงแล้วก็เนื้อวัตถุดิบ มันสูง เรารู้ว่ามันดีแต่ว่าถ้าเราสู้ต่อไปแล้วมีคนนิยมเยอะๆ นี่ มันจะ ถูกลง เพราะฉะนั้นต้องพยายามข้ามเส้นตรงนี้ให้ได้

The Beginning in the Nakorn-Narai Forest

After I tripped and studied in the Nakorn-Narai forest, I can summarize that it is the best location of my production due to have the sources of materials that I can additionally study. Moreover, the clients informed me that Sorn Narai Hemp is the king of natural fiber and the silk is the queen of natural fiber. By this reason, I intended to promote the Sorn Narai hemp that has many special qualities; shining, tough and durable until it is used for pulling the anchor in the sea. When we weaved the dyed fibers of Sorn Narai hemp, the color was easily absorbed because of the soft shade of color and shining and the shining existed after boiled them.

Importantly, it is expensive because of all of these special qualities, the high cost and wage, thus, it resulted to earn the low profit. However, I insisted to produce it and stepped over all difficulties and hope that the price will be cheaper when the need of clients increased.

วิธีการออกแบบ

ก็มีหลายวิธีการนะคะ ไม่ได้ตั้งโจทย์ว่า จะต้องสเก็ตช์ก่อน หรือจะต้องหาของก่อน หรืออาจต้องไปดูรูปก่อน ไม่ใช่ ก็คือในแต่ ละคอลเลคชั่นที่ทำ มันขึ้นอยู่กับว่าเราได้แรงบันดาลใจมาอย่างไร ชิ้นแรกๆ นี่จะได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากข้อจำกัดของตัววัตถุดิบ ก็คือ ป่านศรนารายณ์ ดูว่ามีข้อจำกัดอะไรบ้าง ทีนี้เราต้องพยายามหาวิธี การออกแบบ เพื่อให้ข้อจำกัดของวัตถุดิบนี่มันหายไป มันกลมกลืน ไป ดูเนียนไป แล้วก็ข้อแรกคือ ข้อจำกัดของวัตถุดิบของครั้งแรก ที่ทำ โดยใช้การเรื่องของการย้อมสี การไล่โทนสี เพื่อให้เกิดความ เลื่อมสี เพราะว่างานทำมือนี่ เวลาทำส่งออก มันจะมีปัญหาเรื่อง มาตรฐานการผลิต เพราะฉะนั้นเราต้องดีไซน์แล้วว่า ทำอย่างไรให้ ค่าเฉลี่ยของผลงาน ความสม่ำเสมอ ความซ้ำนี่เน้นกระจายไม่ให้ มันดูเป็นกระจุก ถ้ามันกระจายได้ปุ๊บ ลูกค้าก็จะรู้สึกว่าแต่ละชิ้นมัน ก็เป็นอย่างนี้แหละ เป็นธรรมชาติ ก็คืออันนี้คือข้อจำกัดข้อแรก เรื่องย้อมสีอะไรต่างๆ มันจะดูดเปรอะเลอะเทอะอย่างไร มันก็จะดู ไม่ค่อยรู้ ส่วนในคอลเลคชั่นต่อมาก็เรื่องของเทคนิค ว่าเราเปิด เทคนิคนี้แล้ว เราก็อยากได้เทคนิคใหม่ดูสิว่าจะเป็นอย่างไร หลังจาก

Designing Methods

There are several designing methods, it is not necessary to firstly sketch or select the materials or see the photo due to each collection depends on individual designer’s inspiration. My first inspiration from the qualifications of Sorn Narai hemp has an influence to the designing methods to adjust the conditions of materials through the dying, color shade control, its resulted to the shining of fabric. In fact, the handmade products for the export regularly faced to the problems of productive standardization, therefore, it is necessary to design how to get the means of products, regularity and distribution. If the clients understood that it is the nature and qualities of materials, for example, although it is dyed and stained but the client is hard to notice. The next collection presented the modern techniques by weaving, rolling and sewing in order to have lower cost.

ทอแล้วเราใช้มือขดเย็บ เพราะตอนนั้นอยากให้ต้นทุนมันถูกลง แล้วก็ ลองขดเย็บดู เนื้อวัตถุดิบเหมือนเดิมแต่ว่าวิธีการแตกต่างไป แต่ก็ใส่ เรื่องคอนเซ็ปท์เข้าไป คือพอเราทำรูปทรงวงกลมเราก็คิดคอนเซ็ปท์ ว่า อะไรที่มันเกี่ยวกับเรื่องของความสมบูรณ์ ความบริสุทธิ์ พวกนี้ ก็คิดถึงลักษณะของธรรมะ ที่มันมีความเป็นฟรีฟอร์มกัน

คอลเลคชั่นต่อมาก็มาจากเรื่องของแนวความคิดบ้าง เรื่อง ของวัตถุดิบ อย่างคอลเลคชั่นเมื่อปี 2007 กับ 2008 นี่ ก็จะเป็น เรื่องของวัตถุดิบ พี่ก็จะหาพวกอะไรที่เป็นเส้นใยสังเคราะห์หรือว่า เส้นใยประเภทอื่นเช่นยางอัด หรือผ้าใยสังเคราะห์ ปั๊มมาจับจีบ มา ตัดแล้วมาทอ นั่นคือเรื่องของวัตถุดิบ และก็เพื่อให้เกิดความแปลก ใหม่ ในเรื่องของการใช้พรมทอมือภายนอกอาคาร เพราะปกตินี่ ภายนอกอาคารจะเป็นพรมที่มันแบบหยาบๆ ไม่สวย เลยคิดว่ามันน่า จะมีพรมสวยๆ ก็เลยหาวัตถุดิบที่มันใช้ภายนอกได้ ก็เลยเกิดเป็น ตัวนี้ขึ้นมา พอหลังจากที่มาทำตัวนี้เสร็จ ก็เป็นเรื่องของการนำเศษ วัสดุมาใช้ อาจจะเล่นสวนกับท้องตลาด พี่เริ่มจากธรรมชาติก่อน อนุรักษ์นิยมแล้วก็วัสดุทดแทนแล้วก็เอาเศษวัสดุ ก็จะเป็นย้อนทาง กับคนอื่น ปัจจุบันนี้ก็เป็นเรื่องของเศษวัสดุที่มาใช้ ก็จะมีพวกเศษ เสื้อผ้า เศษผ้าจากงานการ์เมนท์ เพราะบ้านเราจะมีการ์เมนท์เยอะ เพราะฉะนั้นจะมีเศษเสื้อผ้า เผอิญได้พิมพ์งานที่ทำด้วย ก็เลยทำเป็น คอลเลคชั่นรีบอร์น ก็คือกลับมาเกิดใหม่ คือเอาเศษผ้านี่มาพับแบบ ใบตอง หรือว่าการทำเครื่องสดของไทย แล้วก็ขดเย็บแล้วก็เอามา ต่อกับวัสดุที่เราทำอยู่ก็คือป่านศรนารายณ์ กก

techniques and additionally created the circle forms under the concept of pureness and perfectiveness, all of these free forms reflected to the characteristics of dharma. After the collection in 2007 and 2008 showed the fabrics of materials through the methods of pressing crepe rubbers or cutting and weaving the crimped canvas and then developed to use the handmade soft carpets for decorating outside the building instead of the rough carpets. Subsequently, the next collection used the remnants materials; fraction of clothes from many garments under the concept “Reborn is the rebirth” that contrasted with the concept of nature, conservation and replaced materials. The fraction of clothes in this collection are folded like banana leaf and rolled to sew with Sorn Narai hemps and reeds.

The last collection also used the remnants of materials; spunbond is similar with the middle of synthesized fabric which I brought many remnants of clothes from the big factory of spunbond in Samut Prakarn province. If this factory recycled all of spunbond, it caused to the pollution and energies. By this reason, I have an idea to protect the pollution and cost reduction by weaving them for nearly 20 patterns and then developed them with their special qualities towards the new collection named “Thai Sausage (northern and northeastern sausage) and Mam (lump)”.

All of forms and patterns presented Thai identities, Thai cultures, the way of Thai life, environments to reflect the value of beautifulness in every location of Thailand involving the details in the nature and weather. Absolutely, I tried to refer all of these Thai characters through this collection, in a meanwhile, it has only one product under the concept of Op Art that is the western artistic ideology by weaving techniques and proposing the structure as the style of artistic ideology. In fact, it is easier to reflect several Thai identities and freely create the characters of surfaces through searching the different information and also harmonizing the special characters in the international styles towards the modern vision of Thai identities that the designers have to create how to apply all of these special qualities with various forms and compositions of international characters.

ส่วนคอลเลคชั่นล่าสุดก็จะเป็นเศษวัสดุเช่นกัน เป็นเศษวัสดุ จากพวกสปันบอนด์ (spunbond) สปันบอนด์ก็คือเหมือนกับผ้าใย สังเคราะห์ที่เขาจะตัดหัวโรลหรือหัวม้วนนะค่ะ เพื่อที่จะเอาแต่เฉพาะ ช่วงตรงกลางไปขาย และตัวหัวม้วนเนี่ยเขาก็จะไปหลอมใหม่ ทีนี้ เผอิญไปเจอที่โรงงานแถวสมุทรปราการ แล้วปรากฏเป็นเจ้าทำสปัน บอนด์ที่ใหญ่ที่สุด และเขาก็มีเศษพวกนี้เยอะมาก ที่ถ้าเกิดเขาไป รีไซเคิลปุ๊บเนี่ย มันก็จะเกิดเรื่องของมลภาวะ เรื่องของการใช้พลังงาน ต่างๆ เราก็คิดว่าถ้าเกิดเอามาทอปุ๊บนี่ ทางโน้นจะไม่ต้องสร้างมลพิษ หรือว่าไม่ต้องสูญเสียกับค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น ก็เลยตัดสินใจนำเศษ วัสดุตัวนั้นนะมาทดลองทอ ก็จะมีรุ่นน้องมาช่วยนะคะ ก็เลยทำออก มาประมาณเกือบยี่สิบแบบ และก็คัดลักษณะพิเศษขึ้นมาแล้วก็พัฒนา ต่อจนออกมาเป็นคอลเลคชั่นใหม่ ชื่อ ไทยซอสเซส ไส้อั่ว ไส้กรอก อีสาน แล้วก็มีหม่ำ หม่ำก็คือเป็นก้อนๆ คือก็จะเป็นคอลเลคชั่น ใหม่ของปีนี้ รูปแบบการออกแบบของพี่จะอ้างอิงความเป็นไทย วัฒนธรรมไทย วิถีความเป็นอยู่ สิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อที่จะสะท้อนให้เห็น ว่า เมืองไทยนะมันเป็นประเทศที่มีคุณค่าของความงามอยู่ทุกอนูของ

ความรับผิดชอบของนักออกแบบต่อธุรกิจ

ในมุมมองส่วนตัวนะ คิดว่าตนเองไม่สามารถจะรับผิดชอบ อะไรได้เยอะขนาดนั้น แต่คิดว่าเราควรรับผิดชอบตัวเอง รับผิดชอบ สิ่งที่เราทำวันนี้ให้ดีที่สุด เพราะฉะนั้นถ้าเกิดเรารับผิดชอบ สิ่งที่เรา ทำเนี่ย คือเราเป็นนักออกแบบ หรือว่าจะทำอะไรก็แล้วแต่นะ ถ้าเรา รู้จักคำว่ารับผิดชอบ ผลงานต่างๆ มันจะปรากฏเอง ตัวงานนี่จะเป็น ตัวฟ้องเองว่าเรารับผิดชอบมากน้อยแค่ใหน ถ้าคำว่ารับผิดชอบใน ที่นี้หมายถึงว่า ไม่ใช่รับผิดชอบเฉพาะการทำงาน แต่รับผิดชอบ ด้วยสังคม ด้วยสิ่งแวดล้อม เพราะว่าเราทำเวลาที่ออกแบบ จะคิด แล้วว่า เป็นมลภาวะไหม กระทบกับคนทำหรือเปล่า กระทบกับสภาพ แวดล้อมหรือเปล่าพวกนี้ คือเราต้องคิดอยู่แล้ว มันก็คือการรับ ผิดชอบโดยอัตโนมัติ แต่ว่าเราไม่ได้มาคิดว่าเรา ต้องรับผิดชอบอะไร แต่ว่าสิ่งที่เราทำมันก็คือสามัญสำนึก แปลว่าเราก็ต้องดูแลทุกๆ สิ่ง ทุกอย่าง ที่เรามีปฎิสัมพันธ์ด้วย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นทางกายภาพ หรือว่าทาง จิตใจ เราก็ต้องรับผิดชอบเขา

Responsibility of designers to the business

As my personal point of view, I cannot have more responsibilities than myself and I now prefer to do the best for all things that I can be responsible as a designer to create various designs. All of my works can reflect to the volume of my responsibility. However, if the word “responsibility” means to the social and environmental responsibility, not only the responsibility in working, therefore, the designers need to consider how to design for avoiding the pollution and not effecting to the people and environment. Their ideas are the instinct of responsibility and consciousness to conserve all things under their physical and mental interaction.

บทบาทของนักออกแบบไทยต่อสังคม

นักออกแบบไทย มันก็คือเชื้อชาติหนึ่งในโลก เพราะฉะนั้น เราก็จะมีความพิเศษ เพราะว่าไทยนี่มีรากฐานทางวัฒนธรรม ไม่ต่ำ กว่าเป็นพันๆ ปี ตั้งแต่สมัยบ้านเชียง ยุคก่อนประวัคิศาสตร์ เพราะ ฉะนั้นเนี่ย ความพิเศษ ข้อมูลในการออกแบบ คาเรคเตอร์เฉพาะเนี่ย มันยังโดนเก็บไว้ เมืองไทยในสายตาโลกมันยังบริสุทธิ์อยู่ หลายๆ คนก็จะบริโภคของที่คุ้นเคย ของที่หาง่าย ของที่มีอยู่แล้วในยุโรปหรือ ว่าในญี่ปุ่น แต่ว่าความเป็นไทยนี่ รายละเอียดเล็กๆ ประเทศเล็กๆ พื้นที่เล็กๆ ของมุมโลกเนี่ย มันมีกลิ่นอายการซ่อนอยู่เยอะมาก ใน เรื่องของความงาม เพราะฉะนั้นเล่าแบบไทย จะได้เปรียบคนอื่นมาก โดยเฉพาะอเมริกา ก็จะอีกแบบหนึ่ง แต่ว่าได้เปรียบในที่นี้หมายถึงว่า บ้านเรามีข้อมูลในการออกแบบไม่จบไม่สิ้น เราสามารถดึงคาแรคเตอร์ ออกมาได้ไม่จบไม่สนิ้ และเมือ่ ไรที่ไปอยู่ในสายตาชาวต่างชาติ เขาจะ รู้สึกว่า อะไรแปลกดี น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจดี สวยและก็เวิร์คใช้ได้ จาก ประสบการณ์ทำงานเกือบสิบกว่าปีด้านผลิตภัณฑ์พวกนี้ คิดว่าคน ไทยมีประสิทธิภาพมากในการออกแบบ และในเรื่องของฟังก์ชั่นด้วย เพราะฉะนั้นถ้าชาวต่างชาติเห็น เขาต้องอยากได้ อยากรู้ เพราะฉะนั้น ของไทยก็จะดีขึ้นๆ เพราะฉะนั้นก็ต้องช่วยกันนะ ไม่ว่าดีไชเนอร์อย่าง รุ่นพี่ๆ นี่ รุ่นพี่ๆ ต่างๆ พี่รักษ์ (สุวรรณ คงขุนทียน) พี่หน่า (ม.ล. ภาวินี สันติศิริ) เนี่ย เขาก็กรุยทางไว้แล้ว แต่หน้าที่ของเรารุ่นน้อง

ก็คือพยายามสู้ต่อไป มีอะไรปรึกษารุ่นพี่ได้ เพื่อให้ความเป็นไทย นี่มันเป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้น เมื่อไรที่เป็นที่รู้จักมากขึ้น ได้รับความนิยม มากขึ้น มันก็จะขายได้มากขึ้น มันก็ต้องคำนึงถึงการขายด้วย มัน ไม่ใช่แบบว่าไทยจ๋าอย่างเดียวแล้วโอเค มันไม่ใช่ แต่ว่าถ้าเกิดไทย จ๋ามากๆ อย่างโขนตอนนี้ที่เป็นที่ฮือฮามากเนี่ย มันก็ได้ในเชิง วัฒนธรรมที่วิจิตรงดงาม และสามารถจะมองในเชิงอนุรักษ์กับเชิง พัฒนา พี่พูดได้เต็มปากเลยว่า ความเป็นไทยสามารถจะก้าวสู่ระดับ สากลได้ตลอดยาวนานอีกมากๆ The Role of Thai Designer to the Society

Thai designer is a nationality in the world, they have special capability from the cultural roots at least 1000 years from the Era of Ban Chiang in the pre-historic period, by this reason, mostly design in Thai characteristics still existed.

Especially, Thailand is the small and pure country in the world vision since Thai atmosphere and beauty presently appeared. All of these are the advantage of Thailand due to our country has the endless information of designs that the designers can create many characters through the viewing of foreigners and their different feeling in either of strange, exciting or valuable in the beauty. Through my almost 10 years experiences in these products, I think that Thai designers have high efficiency in functions and designs until the foreigners need Thai products and are eager to know them. I expect that Thai designers in every generation will jointly promote them to have more concerning in worldwide.

Especially, Khun Rak (Suwan Kongkhunthien), Khun Na (M.L.Pavinee Santisiri) initiated in the field of design, thus, the new generation of designers need to promote Thai identity to have more reputation, popularity and income.

Importantly, it is necessary to regard the conservation and integration while there is an increasing promotion through the own identities of beautifulness in Thai culture, it will have influence to everlasting maintain Thai identities in the international stage.

รางวัลนักออกแบบหน้าใหม่ Emerging Awards

เป็นรางวัลที่มอบให้แก่นักออกแบบไทยหน้าใหม่ ที่มีอายุไม่ต่ำกว่า 20 ปี มีผลงานโดดเด่นในรอบปี โดยอาจเป็นผลงานออกแบบเชิง พาณิชย์หรือเป็นผลงานต้นแบบที่มีเอกลักษณ์อันแจ่มชัดซึ่งนําไปสู่ การพัฒนารูปแบบเป็นเชิงพาณิชย์ต่อไปในอนาคตได้ การพิจารณา รางวัลในประเภทนี้ จะเน้นไปที่ตัวผลงานของนักออกแบบเป็นสำคัญ โดยมอบรางวัลตามประเภทของงานออกแบบทั้ง 4 ประเภท The Emerging Awards is presented to new Thai designers aged over 20 years who have produced outstanding masterpieces, be they designed for commercial purposes or uniquely precommercial originals. Awards are offered in four categories.
