For more than four decades, ArtsWestchester has collaborated with the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health to offer arts programming at local mental health sites. These programs include multi-session art-making workshops led by performing, literary and visual artists on ArtsWestchester’s teaching artist roster. The Visions exhibit originated through this partnership with the goal of showcasing artworks that are created during these hands-on programs. The show has since expanded to include works by other mental healthcare recipients from across Westchester County.
This year’s exhibit features 72 artworks submitted by artists from Rockland Psychiatric Centers in Mount Vernon, White Plains, and Yonkers, as well as Recovery Centers, Greater Mental Health of New York Sterling Center, Hope House, WJCS, YAI and independent artists from across Westchester County.
