Day of Giving will benefit Vets Home Initiative
Join us and donate to Arts South Dakota for the inaugural #GivingDay in South Dakota! This year, we’re pleased to be supporting the new Arts Initiative at the State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.
South Dakota’s first ever statewide Day of Giving kicks off at midnight on Giving Tuesday, November 27, 2018 and continues until 11:59 pm that night. Nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organizations across the state will unite to celebrate generosity by asking their community of supporters to raise as much money as possible for nonprofits, and raise awareness for their missions.
On Giving Tuesday, November 27, 2018, people like you who love South Dakota have an opportunity to ignite a movement of giving all across the state (southdakotagives.org). Our state’s Day of Giving is unique, in large part as the organizing group will take $0 of the donations this first year, passing through all of the donations to the individual nonprofits. That means every dollar you give goes directly to supporting our Veterans in South Dakota!

Governor Matt Michels.
Our Veterans have important stories to tell, and in South Dakota we value their service and want to provide service to them in return. Engagement in the arts increases healing and quality of life. The initial arts programming at the State Veterans Home will include many activities, from concerts and residencies, to book clubs and discussion groups, to programs designed to pair schoolchildren and songwriters with the residents to write the Veterans’ stories and then set them to song.
Any gift you give between Veterans Day (11/12/2018) and the Day of Giving (11/27/2018) will go to support and honor our state’s Veterans. Donate, share your news and join hundreds of South Dakotans in supporting nonprofits and make this first Giving Day a success! Go to artssouthdakota.org/giving-day/ for more details on ways to give.
