Festival 2023: RISE
Welcome to the 28th annual International Festival of Arts & Ideas! We are thrilled to take this time to honor the resilience and strength of our communities through this year’s Festival theme, RISE.
Whether it’s through the stories of how we held each other through hard times, through the dances that connect us to our cultural roots, through the music that elevates our spirits, or through the big ideas that inspire us, we know that we are stronger together.
Through great art and big ideas, we celebrate self-determination and transformational creativity. Join us on this journey! OUR

The New Haven Caribbean Heritage Festival gives people the ability to enjoy performances, delicious Caribbean cuisine, beautiful displays of islands and colorful costumes. This year will be the eighth anniversary of the festival, aptly hosted in June which is dubbed National Caribbean American Heritage Month.
The day begins at 2PM and will have food trucks, community networking, vendors, and more. The Arts & Ideas concert will follow after this at 7PM on the Alexander Clark Stage.

You are invited to a deeply moving, genre-defying exhibition and performance. New York-based and award-winning Heidi Latsky Dance disrupts space, dismantles norms and redefines beauty through innovative performance. The work, aptly titled D.I.S.P.L.A.Y.E.D, is an art exhibition and performance in which still bodies come to life. First, you are invited to move through the living sculpture gallery. Then, guests will take their seats and experience dynamic dancing, as the performers break out of their stillness to a soundscape of their voices, guiding you through their lived experiences. Guests are invited to arrive 30 minutes prior to curtain for the on-stage sculpture gallery experience.

A new vision of the criminal spouses in a sped-up version completely unravels Shakespeare’s tragedy. The combination of bodies, objects and stage blood is dominated by a social and emotional poignancy that depicts the futility of human life in a world without morals.
