This year’s theme for Aliwal Urban Art Festival 2024 (AUAF), GROUND UP spotlights the rise of the urban arts culture from the ground up, driven by the community of artists who express themselves through the veins of the city, keeping true to their authentic voice. The festival’s key art, designed by KILAS, a prominent figure in the indie music and art scene, reflects the battle to elevate the practice of urban subcultures in the face of challenges, represented by the stance of lower and upper hands placed in opposing forces.
