Sixth Form Update As the term draws to a close, I would like to thank all the students and staff for being so flexible this past year. What a roller coaster of emotions we have all been on. I can honestly say that ArtsEd has always been a place I am happy to be in, even working virtually, as I am currently having to do, it is a privilege to look after so many amazing young people who choose to study with us. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, who have all gone above and beyond for our students in this last term. Currently we are still in the middle of productions, assessments, auditions and performances, and we have literally had to take each day as it comes, adapting, modifying and drawing on our resilience. There has been disappointment throughout the year but the thing I believe that has kept us going is the fact we are all in the same situation. We have a shared love for the school, for what we do and for each other. We are certainly a family and as this is the last Sixth Form update for the year, I couldn’t let it pass without publicly saying a humongous thank you to our captain. Adrian took a chance on me 8 years ago and I cannot thank him enough for changing my life for the better. Congratulations Adrian on a fantastic reign and we wish you so much love and luck in your new chapter. Thank you to all parents, carers, grandparents, supporters and allies of ArtsEd, whom we simply could not do what we do without you. Wishing you a fantastic Summer. Mark
Peripatetic Instrumental & Vocal Please click the link below for details regarding peripatetic instrumental & vocal lessons for the next academic year. Please note enrolments reset every year. This year’s lessons will not automatically continue. Everyone who wants to take lessons must enrol again. Please read the information in the form very carefully before you enrol your pupil/student. There may be some changes to the details from previous years. The deadline for enrolment is 12 July. Lesson slots fill up very quickly so please enrol as soon as possible. BTEC Update Congratulations to all BTEC students who have been involved in the many productions that have taken place over the past few weeks. Alongside the Year 13 Acting and Musical Theatre productions at The Union Theatre, there have been Year 12 Acting performances from Alice, The Real Inspector Hound and Machinal, the Year 12 Dancers Creative Showcase and the Year 12 Musical Theatre performances of The Witches of Eastwick and Alice by Heart. This week the Year 13 Musical Theatre students held a wonderful evening of song in their Cabaret, and the Year 13 Actors are about to open their final Contemporary performances to an audience. Good luck to all Actors in the closing performances this evening of Blank, Constellations and Machinal. Next week we have the Year 12 and 13 Dancers and Musical Theatre students performing in the Dance Show, and the Year 12 Actors sharing their creative works in progress in a Scratch Evening. We are very grateful to have been able to have an audience to many of these performances and thank you to all who have supported in celebrating the BTEC students hard work and skill. On a final note, as this is the last newsletter of the academic year, we wish all Year 13 students the very best of luck for their exciting futures, and hope they are able to reflect on their time at ArtsEd with pride.
