Bidding Procedures
All lots sold “as is” and the Arts Center does not make any assumptions of liability or representations of any kind with respect to the property.
The highest bid acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the Winning Bidder. The Auctioneer has the express right to reject any bid and, in the event of a dispute, to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the property
Successful bidders need to pay for their lot(s) at the close of the event. Lot(s) cannot be released unless paid in full. For group bidding, each person/ party must provide payment to receive a charitable donation tax letter.
Successful bidders shall present to the cashier their bidder number when checking out in the form of cash, check, or credit card.
Bidders are advised that gratuities are not included for services within an auction lot.
Must be at least 21 years to purchase auction packages containing alcohol. All alcohol much be picked up at the Arts Center.

A Look Back on 30 Years
1996-2026
The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina was born from a communal aspiration to integrate world-class arts into the coastal lifestyle of Hilton Head Island.
Plans began in 1984 as members of the Cultural Council of Hilton Head worked to make this dream a reality. After this grassroots effort, construction began on a 4.7-acre parcel of land, donated by the Self family, that was located midisland next to Shelter Cove Harbour.
The grand opening celebration was held in March 1996 when the organization first opened its doors to residents and visitors. The 45,000-square-foot facility was designed to house the Elizabeth Wallace Theater and the Walter Greer Gallery, the latter named after the visionary founder of the Art League of Hilton Head.
Over the past three decades, the Arts Center has evolved into the third-largest arts organization in South Carolina, and the state’s largest producing professional theater. The Arts Center earned the prestigious Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Governor's Award for its contributions to the state's cultural landscape.
Today, with a stellar national reputation, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina thrives as a professional, non-profit producing theater where creativity, innovation, and excitement converge.
Thanks to the support of patrons, the dedication of staff, and the commitment of volunteers, the Arts Center has grown to become the celebrated cultural centerpiece of the Lowcountry.

Get to Know Broadway’s Favorite Leading Lady
Sutton Foster is a two-time Tony Awardwinning actress, singer, and dancer who remains one of the most celebrated “triple-threat” performers on the modern Broadway stage. As of 2026, she continues to showcase her versatile range, recently starring as Princess Winnifred in the acclaimed revival of Once Upon a Mattress at the Hudson Theatre and the Ahmanson Theatre, as well as playing Mrs. Lovett in the high-profile revival of Sweeney Todd . Beyond her current stage work, she is widely recognized for her seven-season run as Liza Miller on the hit television series Younger and her leading role in the cult favorite Bunheads
Foster’s career is defined by her breakout, Tony-winning performance as the title
character in Thoroughly Modern Millie , a feat she repeated years later with her iconic portrayal of Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes. Her extensive Broadway credits also include Tony-nominated roles in The Music Man (opposite Hugh Jackman), Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, and Violet. Outside of performing, she is an accomplished author, having published her memoir “Hooked: How Crafting Saved My Life” in 2021, and she maintains a strong commitment to arts education, frequently teaching and mentoring students at Ball State University, where she holds an honorary doctorate. Currently, she is balancing her theatrical commitments with a national concert tour, An Evening with Sutton Foster, performing for audiences across the country.
