ourbon with HeART's latest exhibit, "Seasoned Spirits," is more than just an art showcase. It's a jubilant celebration of age, wisdom, and the beauty of the human spirit, reflecting the same refinement that bourbon undergoes over time.

The exhibit, currently at the CAMBRiA Hotel Downtown Louisville on historic Whiskey Row, features 50 unique bourbon barrel heads, each hand-painted by local Kentuckiana artists aged 50 and above. The most "seasoned" artist is an astounding 102 years old!

"Much like bourbon, we, too, grow better with age. This exhibit serves as a resounding affirmation of that," said Morgan Hancock, executive director of Bourbon with HeART. Through "Seasoned Spirits," the organization shines a positive light on aging, challenging societal perceptions and highlighting the vibrancy and creativity that our latter years can bring.

In a time where 10,000 people are turning 65 daily, the exhibit extends its reach to this influential demographic, conveying a powerful message of resilience, talent, and life's potential at any age.

Beyond championing age empowerment, Bourbon with HeART also demonstrates its commitment to giving back. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibit will go to the National Parkinson's Institute and USA CARES.

The line-up of talented artists even includes Robert Schack, the 2023 Parkinson's Warrior of the Year. Eric Richardson, President and CEO of the National Parkinson's Institute, lauded the initiative, saying, "Bourbon with Heart is Kentucky's most creative way to give backand we are proud to be a part of it."

"Seasoned Spirits" serves as a timely reminder that age is just a number, and creativity knows no bounds.

with the Shelby Regional Arts Council. Continually evolving in her craft, Anna views art as a nexus of joy, intellectual challenge, and heartfelt inspiration.

retired PE teacher, Larry has always found joy in doodling, especially while listening to preachers' sermons. "Seasoned Spirits" marks his first time displaying his art publicly. Although he has never regarded his doodling as art, he appreciates

the joy-inducing power of colorful works. With age, Darst has discovered unprecedented wisdom and inner peace, which he credits to his faith in Jesus Christ.

to her home state, she celebrates the theme of aging through her work, integrating both societal and personal viewpoints. Her mission is to unify art, wellness, and nature, encapsulating the essence of Kentucky.

Green Beret, she reignited her artistic journey. She believes in the power of art as a soulful expression integral to the human condition.

T The mission of Beam Vets is to recognize and celebrate Beam Suntory military Veterans, build awareness and reinforce the benefits of working in the spirits industry, and positively engage with the Veteran community.

hrough sponsorship funds provided by Fire Protection Services, Inc., Bourbon with Heart was able to commission artist Gail Corso to hand-paint the Jim Beam small batch collection on a bourbon barrel. The handpainted barrel was then donated to Beam Vets, where it was handsigned by Master Distiller Fred Noe and auctioned off to raise funds for USA Cares.

eamVets stands as Beam Suntory's Employee Impact Group for Military Veterans, family members, and allies.

The EIG was established four years ago under the leadership of James Trusley, JBBDCo Director of Safety and Security, and Allen Guess, Health and Safety Manager at Booker Noe Plant. Trusley and Guess, both US ARMY Veterans, helm the group, with Guess concurrently serving in the KY National Guard as a Major.

The primary mission of the Veterans employee impact group is to attract veterans to the distilled spirits industry. The group aids the veterans they recruit through mentoring, resource provision, and engagement.

he mission of the National Parkinsons Institute is to bolster the battle against Parkinson’s Disease by enhancing the quality of life through exercise, education, and awareness. For over ten years, they have offered Parkinson’s specific classes and programs entirely free of cost, encompassing Rock Steady Boxing, Fight Back with Fitness, various support groups, group outings, and educational seminars and symposiums.

The institute's services are designed to mitigate the financial burden, as they offer all their services free to the community. In addition, they work to ease the physical limitations associated with Parkinson's disease. Their support groups significantly influence the mental health and well-being of the patient and their care partner. The Rock Steady Boxing, one of their programs, instills hope in individuals with Parkinson's by improving their quality of life through non-contact boxing. This organization conducts these classes from Monday to Thursday at various locations, entirely free of cost for the community, and they are always open to new volunteers.

Heaven's Door Unveils New Kentucky Distillery and Visual Arts Center

eaven’s Door, the celebrated whiskey brand founded by Bob Dylan, has announced its plans to open a new distillery in Pleasureville, Kentucky.

The picturesque property, situated on over 160 acres of rolling hills bordering Six Mile Creek, was once owned by Squire Boone, the brother of the legendary frontiersman Daniel Boone.

Since quietly commencing development in 2017, the distillery has been producing small batches of exceptional bourbon on its custom Vendome

still. Heaven’s Door Distillery features two separate stillhouses, each housed in its own towering western horse barn, and a Visitor's Center with tasting rooms and lounges overlooking the valley and Six Mile Creek.

Painstakingly restored, an eighteenth-century grist mill, two eighteenth-century cabins, and a Moravian barn adorn the property. The distillery plans to open its doors to the public in Spring 2024.

he Kentucky Bourbon Festival, scheduled for September 15-17, 2023, is a celebration of Kentucky Bourbon and the esteemed Bourbon Capital of the World, Bardstown, Kentucky. With over three decades of history, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival stands as one of the Commonwealth's premier cultural festivals. This year, the festival gains extra artistic flair by teaming up with Bourbon with Heart, Inc. Randy Prasse, the festival's CEO, appreciates the partnership, saying, "The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is pleased to support Bourbon with Heart. Their artists create incredible bourbon-themed artwork and contribute to other non-profits, showcasing the generosity of the Bourbon Industry."

Twenty-five Kentucky artists will enliven the VIP areas with unique bourbon barrel art custom-made for the festival.

One such VIP area is the newly renovated Brindiamo Penthouse at Spalding Hall, transformed with a generous $150,000 donation from the Brindiamo Group.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear celebrates this addition: "I am thrilled to see this new venue opening in Nelson County, reflecting the prosperity that bourbon brings statewide."

Sam Lacy, the Bourbon Capital Alliance's Executive Director, highlights the penthouse's value: "This extraordinary space embodies Bardstown's bourbon heritage. We have transformed it into a premium meeting venue and a cuttingedge classroom."

Kentucky-born artist Chanson Calhoun

recently unveiled her deeply personal song, "Kentucky Heart," for her rebirth album. After facing adversities like a near-fatal car crash and the tragic loss of her brother to COVID-19, Chanson returned to her roots with renewed determination.

Drawing inspiration from her home, she performed at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts on August 4, dedicating the show to her late brother. The concert was a spiritual journey reflecting Calhoun's experiences, hope, and resilience.

Bluegrass Distillers Dedicates Single Barrel to Bourbon with Heart

Bluegrass Distillers, a respected craft distillery, was founded in Lexington, KY, in 2012. As the craft industry has evolved over the past decade, so too has Bluegrass Distillers, consistently elevating their craft to produce remarkable products. They are renowned for their innovative approach, unique mash bills, distinct distillation practices, and barrel finishing. They are currently in the midst of a significant transition, moving their operations to a historic 62-acre property in Midway, KY, where they are cultivating blue corn and preparing to open a new visitor center in 2023.

In 2018, they initiated the Philanthropy Barrel Program, which raises money for local nonprofits through the sales of Single Barrel selections. Since its inception, the program and other initiatives have raised more than $80,000. The aim is to support Kentucky nonprofits without imposing any financial burden on these organizations. For the entire month of September, $15 from each bottle sold from a selected single barrel will be donated to Bourbon with Heart. The impact can be significant, with each barrel yielding approximately 200 - 220 bottles at cask strength. These bottles are available for purchase at their Lexington distillery.
