This comic has been created by Year 6 children at Beavers Community Primary School, with support from master illustrator and comic artist Kev F Sutherland.
ArtReach has been working with communities in Hounslow for 5 years and uses the annual Night of Festivals event as a platform to uncover and share the town’s rich heritage. This year, ArtReach invited women who migrated to Hounslow between 1965 – 1975 to share their stories and experiences to help build a picture of Hounslow’s ‘shared community heritage’. Having received specialist training from the Oral History Society's Rib Davis, pupils interviewed these ladies and picked out a few of their favourite moments for this comic.
