Accelerate:

An outdoor/indoor physical theatre performance by Highly Sprung Performance

What to Expect

Accelerate is an outdoor/indoor performance with physical theatre. The rig has a square conveyor belt, powered by 2 bikes and a hoist that lifts the performers into the air.

It is suitable for all ages including children.

You do not need to book.

You can sit outside of the marked performance area.

Accelerate is an outdoor/indoor performance at a festival.

You can watch the performance at any point and leave at any time.

You can move around.

You do not need to be quiet.

THEME - The performance explores energy and what happens when we start to run out.

30 Minute show

The whole performance lasts 30 minutes.

You can watch the performance from the front and the side.

The Performance

There are five performers. Four of them are dressed in white clothes wearing blue coats.

The performers are holding devices such as phones and laptops and are standing near the audience.

Noises such as typing and pinging are made.

Music will start and continue throughout the performance.

The performers move closer to the audience.

The music may suddenly get louder.

The performers will shout in unison.

They are not trying to scare you.

The performers will move onto the conveyor belt which will make some noise. They get pushed off.

They are not hurt.

One performer will attach themselves to the rig and be lifted upwards and upside down.

They are safe.

Another performer enters wearing orange work clothes and places buckets around the performance area.

There is heavy breathing and struggling noises made by the performers but they are okay.

All of the performers will go onto the conveyor belt and will fall off.

They are safe.

Different coloured powders are found in the buckets is thrown in the air and wiped on the performers.

They will not put the powder on the audience and the powder is safe.

A performer is lifted in the rig which is operated by the man in orange. They are safe.

The performers will come close to the audience whilst making loud struggling noises.

The music will also get louder and includes some banging sounds

The performer on the rig will start doing flips and will go upside down.

They are safe.

There will be a sudden stop and start in the music.

There will be more loud breathing and struggling noises in this section.

The performers will exit the stage and the music will stop.

This is the end of the show

Loud clapping may begin.

This is the end of the performance.
